Aibu to think the media portray it as perfectly ok for an 83 year old man to have a child with a 29 year old woman but when it’s older women having babies, it’s portrayed as selfish etc. Incredible!

So I’m guessing all the ones that are saying leave them alone what does it matter wouldn’t mind their twenty something son or daughter dating and procreating with an octogenerian?

None of my business as long as my children are educated and can work. Who they date after 18 is nothing to do with me I will support my daughter's in whatever decision they make. Although they have expressed that they wouldn't dare go with a man who is 5 years older than them.

You're probably right I do over exaggerate. My daughter told me she would never drink now she's drinking my other daughter had a sip of alcohol and she said the same. What ever they decide to do I will support their decision.

Hardly. Aaron Johnson was only 18 years old when the 42 year old Sam Taylor met him. She got justified criticism

I think you’ll find that the child is her insurance policy. They aren’t married, so the only way she can get a payout is through child support or inheritance left to the child. Let’s face it, she doesn’t have to wait too long for pay day.

There is a 20 year ago between me and my partner. We had 4 children together. I am not a hypocrite as long as they work hard regardless of who they are with and not rely on any man.

going against the grain here maybe but… he’s an extremely high status man whatever his age. He has huge wealth, massive success and very high social standing. She’s making a very sound decision: any child of his will have huge advantages through life, simply by virtue of who their father is.

it could be argued that her decision is far more rational than that of the many women on here who choose to reproduce with total losers.

His age is irrelevant tbh: his status negates that.

His status does not negate the increased risks of becoming pregnant by someone in their 80. Paternal age is a factor in sperm quality issues.

I don't think she's been sensible to get pregnant by him at all. Sensible would have been them agreeing to have a child using donor sperm from a younger man with a much lower risk factor.

All the people saying good on her, set for life, yada yada, nobody seems to be thinking of the child who is essentially just a commodity in all of this. No father, likely being brought up by the nanny while the mother fucks off to live her extravagant life and waiting for the next geriatric rich bloke to shag for his money.

It’s vile.

Quite right and they are usually the type of people who are on here encouraging unhappy, exhausted woman to continue with third/fourth/whatever pregnancies because ooh cute baby. Nobody actually think of the child, teenager and adult that the ikkle baby becomes. It's selfish.

I don't think men are all that relevant when it comes to raising children anyway. The fact that he's probably going to die when the child is still a dependant is neither here nor there - think about the amount of actual work men put into child raising. It's not a lot.
