And this is the ongoing problem with believing in the pantomime of "Labour vs Tory".
The Tories just make a noise to the contrary of what people dislike while doing it anyway.
They make a noise about immigration because people are unhappy about it, but they put their loudest mouth on the job and the plan to "stop" it is positively execrable and will never happen - meanwhile immigration continues apace. Labour did exactly the same - putting Alistair Campbell before commitees and various mouthpieces before the public to "talk tough on immigration" and behind the scenes they are accelerating immigration as hard as they possibly can.
They set the PM up to say "adult human female" on the TV because they realisw rapes and medically abused children go down quite badly with the public. Meanwhile education and prisons are put under rhe control of TWAW, and policy movement in that direction continues apace as people ignore what their local authorities are up to. Labour will do the same.
One lot fucks the NHS from one end and says the other did it, ballooning debt and private involvement, then the next lot gets in and does it from the other end.
Same things are going in everywhere. Foreign policy. Geriatric care. Policing. Prisons. Public sector wages. Freedom of thought, expression and movement. Disabled people's rights. Race politics. Misogyny in high places. Privatization of everything. Profligate rolling debt/collapse cycles. It's all the same shit with some variation in the flavour of the shit stew from one spoonful to the next.
I think the truth is, we have a political class that does exactly what the fuck it wants and rebrands the compulsory journey occasionally so people will vote for it. The trend of people hating each other terribly for even slight political differences like eg this thread is probably useful to that political class, and detrimental to the rest of us.
