Look at the speakers;

How can anybody who has studied any history whatsoever vote for this?

Are living in some kind of shit, TV movie about the fall of the UK?

Fact: David lammy thinks men can grow a cervix.

You don't think he's stupid.

Thus if you don't think he's stupid you must also believe that men can grow a cervix.

More than happy for you to join in the challenge to find where Lammy said men could grow a cervix.

While we wait do you also have a view on a party that has seen a massive drop in rape convictions, strangely coinciding with 25% cuts in the funding for the Ministry of Justice?

TooBigForMyBoots · 16/05/2023 21:09

MargotBamborough · 16/05/2023 20:32

Well it's not great, but find me a party which isn't full of woman hating wankers and I will vote for them.

The Tories have always been wankers.

Labour have, in my opinion, a moral duty not to be wankers just now.

I understand that the SDP and a British Communist Party have been consistently on the side of biological sex rights for women.Smile

IClaudine · 16/05/2023 21:09

Lots of Tory desperation on this thread.

OP is right to be worried. The Tories are in danger of becoming even more right wing. Braverman wants Sunak's job and she might well get it after the Tories het annihilated at the next GE.

The thought of her becoming PM in 10 years or so is terrifying.

SunnyEgg · 16/05/2023 21:09

This is the Lammy quote

Lammy: "...it's probably the case that trans women [born male] don't have ovaries, but a cervix..is something that you can have following various procedures, hormones and all the rest of it..."

Starmer one

Asked whether it was transphobic to say that only women had a cervix, Sir Keir told BBC1’s Andrew Marr Show: “It is something that shouldn’t be said. It’s not right.”

jgw1 · 16/05/2023 21:04

You've got a quote where Lammy said woman could grow a cervix. Excellent feel free to share it.

While we wait do you think a party that has overseen a massive drop in the number of men convicted of rape hates woman?

Is there a reason why you are refusing to answer a simple question?

I'm not interested in whataboutery.

I want to know which party I can vote for which will protect my rights as a woman, and also my children.

The answer cannot be "not the Tories".

I'm looking for a positive answer to this question.

At the last general election the only candidates in my constituency were Tory, Labour and Lib Dem. Neither Labour nor the Lib Dems think that female people should be allowed to have single sex spaces or even a word for themselves.

Does going more right wing really help?

Or has the pendulum swung too far and the hopeful rejection at the next election might encourage them not to go as far?

Maybe it might split in two?

But why would she win?

If you’re convinced Tories are out why would someone more extreme get in five years later?

I don’t get why you’re terrified if so convinced there’s little chance of it happening.

I think @jgw1's case rests solely on the fact that he did not specifically use the verb "grow".

TheHandmaiden · 16/05/2023 21:12

No, it will put people off.

Suella Braverman is popular with racists. But the British public do not like here more than Starmer or Sunak.

And both of those might be said to be rather uncharacteristic

TheHandmaiden · 16/05/2023 21:13

Uncharismatic!

Notonthestairs · 16/05/2023 21:13

Cheer up everyone. We still have Lord Frost and Lee Anderson (Conservative chairman) presentations to go.

And David Starkey. Although I'd hope Tory MPs will give him a wide berth given his disgraceful comments about Sunak.

DuncinToffee · 16/05/2023 21:14

Prominent Tories incl the Home Secretary are sharing the stage with a bloke who thinks Germany 'mucked up' twice but posters are more concerned with Labour whataboutery

The thing with the Germans is that they just got a bit carried away with their NatCism. If they only had done it better Germany would now be a powerhouse in Europe and the world.

Apparently tomorrow are the religious talks.

Jesus would have been labelled as woke by a lot of these people, probably arrested by the police before he protested in the Temple and would have been criticised for his liberal ideas especially when it came to things like the Good Samaritan.

Labour aren't sharing the stage with the bloke who thinks women who need single sex spaces are "dinosaurs who hoard rights" or the woman who says that male rapists should be accommodated in women's prisons if they feel that matches their gender identity.

Labour ARE that bloke and that woman.

This is not whataboutery.

We are asking what the non woman hating alternative to the Tories is.

There doesn't seem to be one.

SunnyEgg · 16/05/2023 21:19

Tories voters are ‘desperate’ going by pp but same posters are ‘terrified’, even though the options stated are many years off and less likely to win.

I’m more concerned that anti women Labour are silencing questions on women’s rights. That’s a real and worrying prospect.

At least they should be upfront and we can decide.

Vote Conservative then, nobody will stop you doing so

TheHandmaiden · 16/05/2023 21:20

This is all back door Catholicism, anti abortion, home making, anti education for women.

That there are some useful idiots like Cates and Braverman to stand up and start the conversation is terrible.

Education is the only way women have been able to be emancipated. The only way. Remove it or nibble it down, there's nothing.

I don't want to vote Conservative.

I'm saying my minimum red line is that I want to vote for a party which doesn't hate women.

Which party can I vote for?

If you read back through the thread several posters said that Lammy was stupid because he thinks that woman can grow a cervix.

All I am doing is waiting patiently for someone to provide evidence of him having said that.

Which verb would be more acceptable to you?

Develop? Acquire?

Ah yes, Cates is already trying to meddle in what is taught in schools.
