I'm less worried about David Lammy's intellect than his open contempt for women.

Oh right, so you don't agree with a previous poster who was concerned that Lammy might be utterly stupid. That's fair enough, I don't share that concern either mostly because Lammy isn't utterly stupid.

Jonei · 16/05/2023 20:33

jgw1 · 16/05/2023 20:16

You are happy with the principal that girls should recieve less education than boys because all they need to do in life is stay at home and look after children?

Do you also like countries where woman are not allowed out without a male chaperone?

Can you also post where it says those things in the ops original link please.

Thanks.

TooBigForMyBoots · 16/05/2023 20:33

Lisa Nandy thinks male rapists should be allowed to live in women's prisons...

The Tories actually put male rapists into women's prisons.🤯 No thinking about it. They really did do it.

He said men can grow a cervix FFS.

He's either stupid or he's a liar.

As well as being a woman hating wanker.

Jonei · 16/05/2023 20:34

MargotBamborough · 16/05/2023 20:30

Saying a man can grow a cervix just signals that you're an idiot.

Saying that women who need single sex spaces are "dinosaurs who hoard rights" says something else about you altogether. Something far more unpleasant than mere stupidity.

Although someone saying either of those things is a good enough reason to not want them in the government.

Fair point. I agree.

These lines are from fools, liars and anti women politicians.

Some revere them, see pp on Lammy’s intellect. God knows why.

I assume duly wedded to Labour, so they don’t mind insults.

Yeah and now they are clamping down on that. Better late than never.

You can bet your life that the first thing Lisa Nandy would do in power is reverse the Tories' decision to put all males who have been convicted of a sex offence in men's prisons, because she has said out loud and on public record that she thinks prison should be a gender affirming space for men like "Karen White".

Jonei · 16/05/2023 20:36

jgw1 · 16/05/2023 20:37

MargotBamborough · 16/05/2023 20:32

Well it's not great, but find me a party which isn't full of woman hating wankers and I will vote for them.

The Tories have always been wankers.

Labour have, in my opinion, a moral duty not to be wankers just now.

Not great?

Ok.

At least there weren't any senior Tories at the NatC conference disappointed that their attempts at gerrymandering had failed...

So you disagree with the previous poster who said that they are less concerned about his intellect and more his views. Fair enough we are each entitled to our own views.

TheHateIsNotGood · 16/05/2023 20:39

Yet another unhinged poster sticking 'Tories out in their post-title to get attention whilst being blissfully unaware that indeed the UK Electorate are very ready for a change.

It's really not necessary to over-dramatize things OP, unless there's a major Labour f*ck up, or the Tories pull a few out of the hat and the LibDems overcome their mediocrity with something other than scandal - it's pretty much a given that the Conservatives will not be forming the next govt.

I'm concerned about both, but I'm more concerned about the fact that he hates women and is willing to say so out loud than the fact that he is either stupid or a liar.

ToWhitToWhoo · 16/05/2023 20:40

OMG, just saw this! I thought it must be from Newsthump at first, but apparently it really did happen:

'Monday’s gathering of conservatives in London began with an invocation of the spirit of Margaret Thatcher.
Opening the National Conservatism conference in Westminster’s Emmanuel Centre, chairman Christopher DeMuth said he had been “communing” with the late prime minister about the conference.
He told delegates: “I am happy to report that she is totally on board.”'

You are free to believe whatever you like. Some people believe all manner of things. For instance this thread is discussing the wierd beliefs expoused by government ministers and others at the NatCism event, for instance that the problem in western countries is that too many woman go to university.

Personally I would rather base my views on facts.

Are you also concerned that Miriam Cates said that too many woman go to university and this is a problem. Presumably you think she hates woman too?

LondonQueen · 16/05/2023 20:45

This isn't the Conservative party. It's a separate organisation.

No it really did happen, and there are some posters on here really pleased and excited that it did.

Takes all sorts to make the world interesting.

lljkk · 16/05/2023 20:46

Braverman's speech was about bringing back Trussonomics, wasn't it.
I can't believe she's that thick, but there we are.
Thanks for clarifying this is an American think tank meeting. Context is useful.

The Tories will certainly lose the next election. If they lose it badly enough the party could be disbanded as the branding is so devalued. There would be lots of new groupings looking to take the place of the party. This is a bid to try to claim that ground.

Brought to you by the shits who backed Brexit, of course.

What planet do you live on that rhinos the Tories will disband? Ten years out of government then back again.

Pp seems to be projecting as I can’t see any posts being excited about this.

But I heard was about this today and it made me laugh

Nobody is saying that men can GROW a cervix. This is saying that some people (transmen, not transwomen) who identify as men may have a cervix, and be thus at risk of cervical cancer. One could debate whether they are really men; one cannot debate their need for cervical screening.

But I think that a man could grow a cervix, or a pig grow wings, or a dog start meowing, more readily than an attendee at that conference could grow a brain and a heart!

What specific change in women's rights do you think this is going to lead to?

You'd probably best ask Cates what changes to woman's rights she wants in order to ensure fewer go to university so that they can have more babies to protect western countries.

Quite why if the UKs population needs to grow we don't accept more immigrants rather than eroding woman's rights I don't know.

Most strange, what could the NatCs be thinking?

Are you concerned by Cates' views and their impact they will have on woman's rights?
