This:

nationalconservatism.org/national-conservatism-a-statement-of-principles/

Look at the speakers;

nationalconservatism.org/natcon-uk-2023/

How can anybody who has studied any history whatsoever vote for this?

Are living in some kind of shit, TV movie about the fall of the UK?

I liked Gove. He actually sounded embarrassed to be there.

Piggywaspushed · 17/05/2023 19:49

That is true.

MargotBamborough · 17/05/2023 19:49

jgw1 · 17/05/2023 19:46

I think many posters have been very clear that there is a massive problem with Tory MPs and ministers attending the NatC event.

This tactic is very childish.

SunnyEgg · 17/05/2023 19:49

MargotBamborough · 17/05/2023 19:46

Right? Proper "the moon landings were faked" level stuff.

Why are they like that?

I agree with @Sausagenbacon too oh hang on I have egg in my name. They missed that tut tut

But seriously what’s going on, do we all have to agree on a thread word for word

DuncinToffee · 17/05/2023 19:50

MargotBamborough · 17/05/2023 19:48

Erm, big deal? Five MPs can't actually pass any laws on their own, you know.

There are nasty extremists in other parties too, why are they not getting the same attention? Lloyd Russell Moyle has already been mentioned in this thread.

Erm, big deal?

the Home Secretary endorsing racism and actually reciting racist language is not a big deal according to you?

Or do you agree with her rhetoric?

jgw1 · 17/05/2023 19:50

MargotBamborough · 17/05/2023 19:46

Right? Proper "the moon landings were faked" level stuff.

Where the NatCs discussing the moon landings being fake, I hadn't read that. I had heard there were some conspiracy theories being banded about at their event though.

Sausagenbacon · 17/05/2023 19:50

Not you, but it's been over 12 hours and the discussion hasn't returned to the nominal title. I find that telling
I've been on mn, and that's not how it works, especially on threads like this. Especially when they start at such a hysterical pitch.
It's the nature of Social Media.
And, FWIW I still want to know what Women's Rights the Tories have removed. As in, actually removed.

Yes sock puppeting, more than one person using an account and companies paying people to engage on social media to push agenda’s is completely unheard of. Super crazy and never been done. Inconceivable to the point of being on the same level as fake moon landing conspiracy theory territory! Rolls eyes.

No, I don't agree with her, but I'm gonna need you to explain how we get from five MPs attending the Nat C conference to the ideals being promoted there actually finding their way onto the statute book. Especially given that the Tories aren't going to be in power much longer.

If you can do that, I might be better able to grasp why you are "terrified".

You know this is a thread about the NatC conference. Or is that another of the points you've missed?🤣

Sausagenbacon · 17/05/2023 19:52

Yes, sunnyegg we are obviously the same poster, because the thing missing from Sausage and bacon is obviously egg. Case proven

Well mnhq know it’s not sock puppeting hence the deletions - of your posts

Getting it yet?

What do you think the conference is for if not for promoting ideals?

It's quite bold to keep repeating the same unfounded claim that you've already had a post deleted for.

DuncinToffee · 17/05/2023 19:54

I assume it's mainly an excuse for like minded people to have a piss up.

You haven't explained how these ideals are going to become law though.

TheHandmaiden · 17/05/2023 19:56

@Sausagenbacon - I feel it's more what they didn't defend.

One of the reasons to educate privately in my cases was the policy that the Girls Day School Trust had on gender. That secured a biological girls rights and I am really happy about it. State schools could not and would not match it. The DfE seems to have done nothing, whereas it could be sorted out re simple amendments to the law which aren't being advanced.

I don't like this situation and I'm not impressed that it isn't being addressed. The Tory party can sort this out now. Why isn't it happening?

Anyway, I feel the answer is in this loony convention they are having. They are just campaigning on it, not doing it. Shameful

I think perhaps you have not noticed in all of this that included in those MPs attending the NatC event were the Home Secretary and deputy leader of the Tory party.

It's not the only issue but it is a red line.

Who have you voted for in recent elections?

jgw1 · 17/05/2023 19:59

DuncinToffee · 17/05/2023 19:54

What do you think the conference is for if not for promoting ideals?

As far as I could tell for some of the speakers the NatC event was part of their continuing Tory leadership party bid.

Ideas/ideals are powerful. They can become policy. Brexit started as an idea in the heads of a few politicians. Look at us now.

MargotBamborough · 17/05/2023 20:01

TooBigForMyBoots · 17/05/2023 19:58

The Lib Dems, the National Health Action Party and the Greens (in the European Parliament elections).

Laws that could in all likelihood be change by statutory instrument by the Education secretary if they so wanted.

But they don't want to because they know what a woman is.

I have a book all about how laws are made on the Uk on a shelf, would you like me to send it to you?
