This:

nationalconservatism.org/national-conservatism-a-statement-of-principles/

Look at the speakers;

nationalconservatism.org/natcon-uk-2023/

How can anybody who has studied any history whatsoever vote for this?

Are living in some kind of shit, TV movie about the fall of the UK?

And the reason no one has explained why they support "NatC ideology" is, I assume, because no one here does.

I think perhaps you missed the posts where it was asked why people find NatC ideology terrifying.

TooBigForMyBoots · 17/05/2023 19:25

Missing posts and missing the point is that poster's forte.

Bubblyb00b · 17/05/2023 19:27

"I think not understanding why some women need single sex spaces is a mark of privilege."

Its definitely a mark of privilege when this is the only issue that bothers so much that you are literally blind to everything else.

TheHandmaiden · 17/05/2023 19:27

Interestingly there is a lot of chat by moderate Tories about how unhelpful Nat C are in terms of bringing in votes. Being called a nutter by your own is not a good look.

Well it's a fair question, given that we aren't talking about people who are currently or will soon be in power.

Unless and until they have any power, I'd just dismiss them as a bunch of unpleasant nutbags, tbh.

Just like I don't agree with people who protest outside abortion clinics, but I also don't find them terrifying. Only people who actually have the power to do things to you are terrifying.

It's not the only issue but it is a red line.

The Home Secretary has no powers?

Is that a bit like the Prime Minister is only in charge of the pot plants?

Really? Not the destruction of the NHS, not the underfunded schools, not terrible housing situation for thousands of families, not hungry dirty kids of parents who are working - this? Well, I rest my case.

These presentations were NOT about GE votes.

It's all about Member votes in the next leadership election.

TooBigForMyBoots · 17/05/2023 19:36

Only people who actually have the power to do things to you are terrifying.

Which is why we are talking about the far right loons who are in government on this thread.

Troll hunting is against the talk guidelines.

But I didn’t call you a troll. Trolling is when you say shitty things to bait people into a reaction.

I said I believe yours is a shared account with people on shifts given attack lines to use in order to derail a topic your employer doesn’t want us to discuss. That’s different.

Am I allowed to find anti - Semitic tropes terrifying?

A shared account?

Are you suggesting sock puppeting? This has already been posted and deleted as the posters were wrong.

You need to get over a few posters agreeing with each other.

Actually just read ‘employer’.

Are you SO mired in Labour politics this is your take. Bizarre

Well you're wrong, and you're also breaking the talk guidelines by making such a claim, which is why your post was deleted.

Endlesssummer2022 · 17/05/2023 19:43

Hoping someone will submit a Freedom of Information request on this event to find out: how many hours each MP and their team spent preparing for this event, whether any money was paid to speak, what breakout meetings were held, with whom and on what topic.

I thought you were discussing a conference attended by 5 MPs, not Rishi Sunak's latest cabinet meeting. My bad.

TheHandmaiden · 17/05/2023 19:44

@Notonthestairs - yes I agree on that intention, but of course it gets attention in all the wrong ways.

Starkey going on about white culture and the displacement of the Holocaust. I mean it's like a leap into insanity.

If just once some posters would admit that there is a problem, perhaps we could move on.

5 current government MP's including the Home Secretary, they are in power at the moment not in charge of pot plants

Right? Proper "the moon landings were faked" level stuff.

I think many posters have been very clear that there is a massive problem with Tory MPs and ministers attending the NatC event.

TheHandmaiden · 17/05/2023 19:47

@Sausagenbacon - given the performance on this thread I doubt it. Not you, but it's been over 12 hours and the discussion hasn't returned to the nominal title. I find that telling

Are you still wilfully missing who was there?? Not just '5 Tory MPs'. The actual home secretary, The Tory party Deputy Chair, senior MP Michael Gove??

Erm, big deal? Five MPs can't actually pass any laws on their own, you know.

There are nasty extremists in other parties too, why are they not getting the same attention? Lloyd Russell Moyle has already been mentioned in this thread.
