Look at the speakers;

nationalconservatism.org/natcon-uk-2023/

How can anybody who has studied any history whatsoever vote for this?

Are living in some kind of shit, TV movie about the fall of the UK?

Asked if the Prime Minister would condemn David Starkey's comments about slavery and 'white culture' at the NatCon event, which was also addressed by senior Cabinet ministers, his spokesman tells me the PM "would not agree" with the comments.

Rishi Sunak's spokesman asked about David Starkey's offensive comments about slavery this morning at the NatCon event attended by the Home Secretary, tells me that: "it's up to ministers to decide what events they would like to attend."

Rishi Sunak's spokesman says they can't "get into the detail of what was a political event" at Natcon.

Minutes later he reads out a statement about free speech and Kathleen Stock's planned appearance at a political event at Oxford University.

Lee ANderson closes with

The one common thread that runs through the Conservative party is aspiration.

It's about opportunity--that anybody in this country can get ahead. That may sound like the "American dream".

But let me remind you: it's the British dream.

It's certainly only a dream now. The Tories have wrecked the education and health of the nation.

MargotBamborough · 17/05/2023 18:24

Perhaps if Labour had more to say about how exactly they will fix those problems and less about their contempt for women, I might feel differently.

There was a poster earlier on this thread who was convinced Labour has a plan to put rapists into prisons, so perhaps you could search for that post and ask them in more detail what they know of those plans.

If they can afford to rent a place or even to buy a house without the help of other people.

dontlookbackyourenotgoingthatway · 17/05/2023 18:41

If the Tories actually believed that, they'd fund education properly

I take it Andersen is opposed to the current governments immigration policies then since he thinks that everyone in this country should be able to get ahead?

I think most of the GC's on Mumsnet are exactly that.

I think not understanding why some women need single sex spaces is a mark of privilege.

Perhaps you should search for it since you're apparently the only person who believes it exists.

DuncinToffee · 17/05/2023 19:06

I have to say as far as the Nat C conference is concerned, Anderson's speech seems rather tame.

I don’t know Starkey nor relate to him but is the part at the bottom re Kathleen Stock’s letter included as you’re against it?

It's a copy and paste of the tweet, the whole tweet, not just selected bits.

I interpreted that comment to mean Sunak wouldn't comment on a political event. And then he did.

Not that the poster was criticising Stock.

Troll hunting is against the talk guidelines.

TooBigForMyBoots · 17/05/2023 19:13

I think it's important to point out that believing people can't change sex is not just a Gender Critical or even feminist position. It is also held dear by those who believe in rigid gender roles and would happily see women educated less, with fewer rights to abortion.

Miriam Cates speech at the Nat Gilead conference was an example. And a reminder.

What is your point?

That because some undesirables don't believe humans can change sex (which is true) we should pretend we do believe humans can change sex?

Wait until you find out they believe water is wet and the earth orbits around the sun.

Its a great shame that some posters on this thread are so determined to shut down any discussion.

One thing that I think is notable in this thread is that no one has taken the opportunity to explain why the NatC ideology is one they support.

And the reason no one has explained why they support "NatC ideology" is, I assume, because no one here does.
