What’s all this about Facebook sending a friend request to anyone whose profile you’ve viewed?!

I am the worst for looking up people on Facebook and have done so several times in the last 48hrs. Just heard there was a glitch where Facebook was firing friend requests to anyone’s profile who you’ve visited! Can anyone confirm if this has happened to them before I panic?! 😂

Another thing is that Facebook unfriends people without them knowing.

If you have been unfriended, the person might not know.

I noticed it this week and asked the person if they had unfriended me. I knew they hadn't. They said it happened to them a few times, that Facebook unfriended people and they did not know.

Are you sure they weren’t just being polite? What else could they have said

Oh wow, luckily I've been too busy for Facebook today as I'm definitely a regular snooper. However, I just checked the activity log and I've apparently sent 2 friend requests in January and February this year. One is a childhood friend, who's profile I did look at and I sent her a private message (it's remained unread) but definitely didn't friend request intentionally. The other I'd someone I don't know at all... totally baffled. Not seen their profile before and have no mutual friends. Can't figure out why or how Facebook would send them a request from me.

got a friend request from Karen Somebody which I accepted. We have 14 friends in common. Never heard of her, never looked at her profile. I think...

one time I un friended an ex which he wouldn’t have noticed, as he had lots of other lady-friends, if I hadn’t accidentally friend requested him straight after, then immediately deleted. He got the bloody notification...

OMG it really really doesn't but this is the excuse I've used many times over the years!

It's the FB equivalent of 'the dog ate my homework' 🙈🙈🙈

I mean what would you say to someone who called you out on unfriending them, if you didn't want to admit it?

It was only for a small period of today but is very much true. Unfortunately during that small window I checked out the Facebook page of teenage sons very new not really official girlfriend 🙈 we are now friends because she accepted. DS will hit the roof when he finds out.

I've not been on anyones profile who isn't a friend but I did get two friend requests today. One from my daughters friends mum and one from my friends cousin I met at a party so guessing they were snooping my profile and fb added me 🤣

OMG, I just checked..an old friend i fell out with 20 years ago came up as a person you may know so I clicked in to her profile for a look and facebook must have sent her a friend request it’s sitting there since 7th April!! Ahhh .. mortified !!

.I bloody hope that’s not true. I sometimes check r in on my ex and his new gf. Help !!!!!.

Just checked my activity log and there are a couple from last year that I definitely did not send.😱

I checked and there are some weird random friend requests. So I cancelled them. But then accidentally sent another request again, cancelled again, sent again!

Also, have had NO requests from anyone. I feel miffed, wasn’t anyone sneaking a peak at my profile?!

This explains why I've had a friend request from someone completely random from a FB group I'm in! Although I got it maybe a month ago, so I'm not sure this is a new glitch. I can't see any other reason why this person would friend request me.

I've had the odd issue with people I vaguely know accepting my friend request. Except I never sent them one. It happens very occasionally. The most recent one was my nephew's close friend. I think I met him once at my adult's birthday party. I barely know the lad's name and definitely wasn't having a nose at this page. The only conclusion I came to was that I was scrolling through FB and he came up as someone you may know and I accidentally clicked 'Add Friend'. Now I'm wondering if it's an ongoing glitch.

I just looked at my fb log and I’ve only sent 2 friend requests ever, in 2012 and 2016 and I don’t remember either of them 😂 but I have about 800 friends so I guess everyone else added me? didn’t realise I was in such top demand 😅

I have checked and it's not happened to me but there are some deletions I definitely didn't make. I think this also happened about 8/9 years ago too. I suddenly realized I had about 5 sent requests to people I know but wasn't friends with and had only looked at their profiles. One accidentally sent request I could understand but not 5. I was mortified to think they thought I would want to be FB friends 😂
