What’s all this about Facebook sending a friend request to anyone whose profile you’ve viewed?!

I am the worst for looking up people on Facebook and have done so several times in the last 48hrs. Just heard there was a glitch where Facebook was firing friend requests to anyone’s profile who you’ve visited! Can anyone confirm if this has happened to them before I panic?! 😂

I looked up an old colleague today or yesterday (can’t quite remember which) and no friend request has been sent.

wow just thinking of how badly this could have gone… a new client, ex bf’s new gf, someone I shagged in 2006 😂😂😂

Thanking my lucky stars right now I took a week off from snooping on Facebook 😂😂😂

I noticed this today. I looked at a few profiles and it sent friend requests to all of them, which I then retracted

Oh my god this wld explain the random weirdo who accepted my friend request. I viewed his video of an almighty situation in Tescos carpark in Bermondsey 😆One car ramming others, and loads of people getting involved. It was epic. But I was baffled that I was then friends with this guy...I did unfriend immediately.

If I haven't got any friend requests in my activity log have I gotten away with it?! (I was on a desktop today if that makes a difference?!)

I had 3 requests but only one of them persists in my notifications, the others have disappeared.

I'm not on FB, but if i was i'd have been in trouble!!.. i google all sorts of exes etc when i'm bored.

Goodness I'm not the only one who loves stalks 🤣I've checked act8vity log, friends requested and nothing today. Testing on people I'm not bothered about but stalk my my ex from 1994 when were teenagers just to how he was 🤣luckily I hope I'm OK. I don't dare click again

I just went to check and I didn't have any random friend requests from today but I had one from a couple of weeks ago when I'd been at a funeral. I'm guessing I knocked my phone in my bag and it added someone on the "people you may know" section. Blush

God this makes me absolutely cringe. My facebook use has really declined in the past year or so and I often go days without looking at it but 4/5 years ago when I was doing OD this would have been world series embarrassment for me.

If you have been unfriended, the person might not know.

I noticed it this week and asked the person if they had unfriended me. I knew they hadn't. They said it happened to them a few times, that Facebook unfriended people and they did not know.

It definitely happened. Sent me into the blindest of panics. But it also happened with friends of friends whose profiles I hadn't clicked on? Facebook literally went rogue. Mortifying and the absolute worst fuck up and social media site can have.

I saw a pp saw it only effected Android phones though, is that right?

I will cling on to my iPhone until the day I die if so 😂
