What’s all this about Facebook sending a friend request to anyone whose profile you’ve viewed?!

I am the worst for looking up people on Facebook and have done so several times in the last 48hrs. Just heard there was a glitch where Facebook was firing friend requests to anyone’s profile who you’ve visited! Can anyone confirm if this has happened to them before I panic?! 😂

If you search for them you can then cancel the request!

I repent. A bit disappointed I didn't get any random requests 😂

See, this is never going to happen to me because about 2 weeks after first dipping my toe into FB I freaked out , closed the account, and removed the bloody thing from my phone. That was about 4 years ago. When I got a new phone the first thing I did was delete FB. Annoyingly, some mobile games I like can only be saved through FB. So I don't save them. Some sacrifices are worth making.

I got 3 friend requests from people I don't know and wondered what was going on.

Well interestingly I got 3 friend requests today from people I didn't know but are in a group I am in and posted in today! (I don't usually get friend requests!)

How do you cancel one please ???

Search for that person and it should give you the option to cancel your request in a list of possible people

Yes I had two new friends today, one even messaged to admit they were looking at my profile. I once tagged myself in the school photo of someone's (who I didn't like) child. I left facebook for hears after that

I've had the odd issue with people I vaguely know accepting my friend request. Except I never sent them one. It happens very occasionally. The most recent one was my nephew's close friend. I think I met him once at my adult's birthday party. I barely know the lad's name and definitely wasn't having a nose at this page. The only conclusion I came to was that I was scrolling through FB and he came up as someone you may know and I accidentally clicked 'Add Friend'. Now I'm wondering if it's an ongoing glitch.

Search for their profile on Facebook. Then click on their page and it will give you the option to cancel the friend request.

Mine has happened literally in the last 30mins (as they came up in my 'people you may know' list, I clicked on it, & now it shows I have 'sent' a friend request.

No friend requests for me, but my activity log says today I've unfollowed a person/page I've never even heard of 😳
