Disclaimer: I’m not British and have no skin in the monarchy game, but I do think the ears are a bit much.

To think the Mumsnet coronation logo is quite mean?

I think it's quite disrespectful.

Hagosaurus · 06/05/2023 08:42

I think it’s pretty grim. Not a royalist, won’t be watching or having anything to do with royal events this weekend or ever. Still don’t think it’s ok to be mean. Thought Mumsnet was better than this

MayBeeJuneSoon · 06/05/2023 08:43

Report this to their advertisers.....the ones who pay the wages!

How dare they!?!

YouTarzan · 06/05/2023 08:43

It’s dreadful

Emotionalstorm · 06/05/2023 08:33

People lack respect in general.

That's what it sadly boils down to.
Couldn't agree more.

I don’t like the monarchy as an institution.

I don’t like Charles as a person.

Its a really shitty and mean logo.

Yep. Juvenile and mean spirited.

I'm not a monarchist, either.

Igmum · 06/05/2023 08:45

Also not a monarchist and I find this in very poor taste

parsleyeatingbunny · 06/05/2023 08:45

UsherBobble · 06/05/2023 08:39

It is disgusting to be honest and I think Mumsnet should know better. Very disappointing.

Totally agree

ZombieMumEB · 06/05/2023 08:45

I've always felt uncomfortable when someone makes fun of someone else's facial appearances. It's no different to mocking someone who wears glasses and calling them "four eyes".

It's childish and nasty to mock someone like this.

Strictlyfanoftenyears · 06/05/2023 08:45

Come on MUMSNET, this is really awful! Take it off FGS

SweetSakura · 06/05/2023 08:47

Yanbu, and I'm definitely not a monarchist. I just don't like making fun of people's appearance

Maireas · 06/05/2023 08:47

... tumbleweed.....

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 06/05/2023 08:50

@Mumsnet, this is such poor taste.

kittensinthekitchen · 06/05/2023 08:51

Awaiting a brief comment from Justine (or possibly BeckyMN) about how they misjudged and "got it wrong on this occasion" and will do better next time... yadda yadda....

RavenclawDiadem · 06/05/2023 08:52

Agree. Meanspirited. Whatever your feelings about the Royals, it's not OK to mock someone's physical appearance, something they have no control over.

AdaBrady · 06/05/2023 08:52

Yes, would like to see a response from Justine Roberts, OBE.

@Mumsnet sort it out. It’s disgusting to take the piss out of someone’s appearance who ever they are. #dobetter

Igmum · 06/05/2023 08:45

Same. Mumsnet you should do better.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 06/05/2023 08:53

Needlessly disrespectful.

No part of the anatomy of HM Queen Elizabeth 2nd was ever singled out as part of a 'fun' graphic during her reign (and rightly so - I'm sure nobody would have dreamed of doing so). There were many other things that were used in logos (such as her Corgi's)

It's lazy and thoughtless that this is all you could come up with MN.

Disappointed but not surprised.

Choconut · 06/05/2023 08:53

Awful - if it was a woman with large ears becoming queen would they do the same then? What about a large stomach, birth defect or something else they couldn't help?

We have no idea if Charles would be ok with it or not and it's really not up to us to decide on his behalf. Just have the crown FGS, body shaming of any part of the body really isn't acceptable.

ssd · 06/05/2023 08:53

They should have used the picture of the sign in tesco saying celebrate the kings coronation, next to the tampax..

That was a belter

Icedlatteplease · 06/05/2023 08:54

Made me giggle

Namechange828492 · 06/05/2023 08:54

Agree, I'm neutral on Charles, make fun of him for something he says or the concept of monarchy in general - fine. Making fun of someone's appearance is the Juvenile playground bullying that people come on MN to get support about. It's not 1972 anymore!

Also on a separate note kids don't get their eara pinned back on the NHS anymore so there will be a lot of MNetters who will have children being bullied about this currently with no way to stop it and this just adds to their pain. (Not that they should have to have the op just to avoid bullying)

BarbaraAllen · 06/05/2023 08:55

Absolutely pathetic.

Talk about being kind!

Mumsnet should be ashamed of itself.

Oakenleg · 06/05/2023 08:55

Childish and mean. This isn't affectionate or funny. Admit it's 'not in the spirit' Mumsnet and take it down.
