Disclaimer: I’m not British and have no skin in the monarchy game, but I do think the ears are a bit much.

Disgusting

What a stupid question! It doesn’t have to be a cruel mockery of someone’s appearance that is no fault of their own or a fawning servile effort. There is some distance between the two.

I agree with pp, whether you’re for or against the monarchy, this looks juvenile and quite frankly cringe. Poor show mumsnet Biscuit

Agree with this

lemonchiffonpie · 06/05/2023 01:41

It's not in the spirit of the site.

Oh but it is isn't it?

Mean girls making fun of people. I thought that's what we do here? 😁

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 06/05/2023 01:59

Making fun of people's appearances is never funny.
Hence all the body hang-ups pepple have. Unnecessary.

Shakespeareandi · 06/05/2023 02:00

Yeah, not funny at all. Thought MN would be better than make fun if someone's physical appearance. Very low and not funny. Who the heck approved that?

Tinkerbyebye · 06/05/2023 02:03

it’s nasty and @MNHQ should be ashamed of themselves

mocking someone for physical features is not on

Furries · 06/05/2023 02:07

They will probably explain it away as representing that they’re “all ears” re any subjects that people want to discuss.

SemperIdem · 06/05/2023 02:08

Wait - are they going to argue they’re “corgi ears”

ManchesterGirl2 · 06/05/2023 02:08

Agreed, mocking people with big ears does seem primary school level humour.

Willyoujustbequiet · 06/05/2023 02:12

Its pathetic.

We can't cherry pick body shaming that suits us. Either its ok or it isn't.

Do better Mumsnet.

DejaVoodoo · 06/05/2023 02:18

Ha anyone reported this thread so MNHQ can see what people think?

TommyNever · 06/05/2023 02:19

Everything about the "monarchy" and its primitive rituals is in laughably poor taste, so the ears are quite appropriate.

God that’s awful :-(

I'd bet my husbands left nut that they don't care.

This logo would have been drafted and approved, it didn't just appear on the website because one person decided it would be funny.

Just another example of MN's disdain for it's user base.

PatAndMat · 06/05/2023 02:26

Whether you’re for or against something you don’t poke fun at them.
Mumsnet should be ashamed of themselves

NotMeSecretFormular · 06/05/2023 02:33

Petty. A bit weird given the censorship on here. One rule for them, another for posters I guess.

Dibblydoodahdah · 06/05/2023 02:36

Incredibly rude and not funny at all. What on earth possessed them to do this?

redsquirrelsonthetree · 06/05/2023 02:38

I’ve reported it too, I’m really shocked MNHQ thought this was acceptable.

Somanycats · 06/05/2023 02:38

Actually this is really horrible. I hadn't noticed it but now I have I feel a bit depressed that a half decent site is mocking someone's appearance. I really hope to see it taken down asap.

GulfCoastBeachGirl · 06/05/2023 02:41

Something tells me that if Charles was obese MN would NOT have a roly-poly letter M topped with a crown....

Interesting that some aspects of physical appearance can be mocked while others are off limits.

Disappointing choice by MN.

DidyouNO · 06/05/2023 02:45

However you feel about the monarchy taking the mickey out of someone's physical appearance is disgusting. They'll be people on here who have larger ears that'll have negatively affected their lives or children with similar. It's absolutely abhorrent to do this to anyone or remind anyone that their physical appearance can be mocked.

StandingMyGround888 · 06/05/2023 02:51

Poor taste.

afty · 06/05/2023 03:00

Not nice

Catsmere · 06/05/2023 03:10

AskMeMore · 06/05/2023 01:41

I guess you all want something more servile instead?

Would it have been so hard to simply not have a logo at all rather than one mocking physical features?

EmmaEmerald · 06/05/2023 03:12

Grim

probably to grab some publicity and encourage more immature blokes to the site...
