To be so bloody happy to have another BOY on the way

Lighthearted thread

But I see so many threads with gender disappointment towards having a boy

My reasons for being over the moon for DS#2 in my tummy....,,

I will remain queen of my house (bar the dogs!)
Boys adore their mummies
Less emotions to manage
Less pink and glitter hopefully 🤣
Brothers
Dirty knees and climbing trees and rough and tumble

I'm just here for it all

What are your reasons if you love being a boy mum like me?

what??

Thehop · 26/04/2023 19:42

I love my boys, enjoy every minute xx

Cantthinkofaname2203 · 26/04/2023 19:43

I know you said lighthearted but your post embodies all the reasons people have gender disappointment.

can you articulate why you are happy to be having a boy without resorting to gender stereotypes?

marshmallowsforbreakfast · 26/04/2023 19:43

Boys are the best! Loving, uncomplicated and their toys are better!

iliketobooogie · 26/04/2023 19:44

Oh for gods sake don't criticise the OP for this!! People find a way to moan about anything on here - get a grip!!!

OP boys are wonderful, you're very lucky 💙

blueberry23 · 26/04/2023 19:44

@Cantthinkofaname2203

I don't care what I had/have both times, could not have cared less.

People will slate your thread but fuck it. If people are allowed to be gutted they are having a boy then people can be happy they are having a bloody boy.

Im a very proud boy mum!

Feel better? 🙄

Sissynova · 26/04/2023 19:47

Sounds like a ridiculous outlook.

Do girls not climb trees? Do they not love their mummies? Why would a boy be less emotional?

I find these ‘oh it’s so lighthearted and funny’ posts which actually just contain raging and damaging sexism quite depressing.

blueberry23 · 26/04/2023 19:47

@Mrsphilmiller what what?? 🤣

I have a girl and she loves me to pieces. I think thou dost protest too much.

Antsinmypantsneedtodance · 26/04/2023 19:49

We have plenty of dirty knees, little pink and no glitter in this house. The toys are toys. Our genitalia doesn't stop us loving mud and having blue as a favourite colour.

What a load of utter rubbish.

Be happy you're having a healthy baby rather than getting caught up on their genitalia. The rest of it is just the rubbish people stereotype.

blueberry23 · 26/04/2023 19:49

@Sissynova just my experience with 5 nieces and 4 nephews and a DS, plus countless friends kids. Appreciate not everyone's experience but it's certainly been mine.

Keepthetowel · 26/04/2023 19:49

I had a girl like that. Totally happy with her, My boy the opposite, totally happy with him. Gender stereotypes suck.

Theredjellybean · 26/04/2023 19:49

I have two young adult DDS and two young adult DSD
I get it...we like what we like
I'd have loved boys...I got girls.
I love girls.
Op...I think its so wonderful you are recognising why boys are lovely
Ignore those saying you're stereotyping
Being a parent is a mix of wonderful and awful...loving your children is all that matters.

MissDollyMix · 26/04/2023 19:50

Well I’m pleased you’re pleased OP. Really I am. But all those things are equally true for my daughter.

Your experience with 5 nieces and 4 nephews is that boys love their mummies more?
Okay sure.

YukoandHiro · 26/04/2023 19:50

"Dirty knees and climbing trees and rough and tumble"
You're describing my two girls but ok, on you go with perpetuating gender stereotypes

Whataretheodds · 26/04/2023 19:51

Less emotions to manage

What makes you think that?

TheSaturdayAfternoonnessOfIt · 26/04/2023 19:51

Congratulations! Cake

KillBilllater · 26/04/2023 19:51

Less emotions to manage.

😄Good luck with that!

Hugasauras · 26/04/2023 19:52

I mean I have girls and there's plenty of dirty knees and climbing going on! I hope they adore me too Grin But congratulations 🥳 A healthy baby is something to be joyful about.

SlashBeef · 26/04/2023 19:52

I think my boys must be broken..

ExtraOnions · 26/04/2023 19:52

What a load of misogynistic shite … I hope your children confound the gender stereotypes you outlined. Here is to girls climbing trees, boys wearing pink & glitter for all.
