Dogs peeing on car tyres

whyareallthegoodonesgone · 20/04/2023 10:09

Put on AIBU for traffic-
need some advice-
how do I word a message to put on road WhatsApp group?
basically- we have 2 cars- one on drive one outside our hedge on road
daily approx 2-3 times a day- someone is letting their dog pee on the car tyres.
firstly- disgusting. Why??? Just why??? Secondly there are bushes, verges and trees all along the road!
I am sick of cleaning it constantly now.
we have a child with severe contact anaphylactic allergies- we don’t even use that car unless it’s myself or hubby using it alone.
I don’t know who it is that’s doing it.
so wanted to compose a message to put on the road WhatsApp group that doesn’t come across as a doormat or being bitchy either.
appreciate any replies x

@luckylavender thank you- clearly some people don’t realise as much they love their dogs- not everyone else has to and I do tend to find those people also can’t smell either. 😂

Ah so this is one of those AIBU threads where the majority of posters are telling you that you’re being ridiculous and, instead of reconsidering your position, you’re just selectively responding… 👍🏻

YABU.

@Yummymummy2020 omg! How disgusting! I’m so sorry you your baby x
personally I think that’s a reflection on the hygiene level of that person. Just why?????

How so? Please explain how a dog (probably multiple) peeing on a car tyre, on public property, is a reflection of anyone's hygiene level?

I started off this thread by saying that I always move my dog on, but I can't see how you've reached to this at all.

whyareallthegoodonesgone · 20/04/2023 10:57

@SunshineGeorgie do you not wash yourself? Or your car? I don’t see what’s so funny…?

@Barold aww did you feel left out?

OP posts:
Onegingerhead · 20/04/2023 10:58

Are you sure it was from a dog? Maybe there is a regular drunk who doesn't like you.. (kidding).

You've driven over the worse, trust me.

DrMeredithGrey2023 · 20/04/2023 10:58

@whyareallthegoodonesgone apologies for the last post, I misread your post and didn't realise you were talking about someone letting their dog piss on a buggy. I am with you there.

whyareallthegoodonesgone · 20/04/2023 10:57

You expect the dogs to know you've just washed your car

And you! You're funny!!

The poster apologies and said she had misread? What's the outrage for?

StarDolphins · 20/04/2023 10:59

I think this is a bit hysterical- is your child allergic to dog wee & if so, can’t you just tell them not to lick the wheel?

shintyminty · 20/04/2023 11:00

*apologised

whyareallthegoodonesgone · 20/04/2023 11:00

@Onegingerhead yes sure it’s dogs- as happens during the day

OP posts:
DrMeredithGrey2023 · 20/04/2023 11:00

@shintyminty turns out she also misread - as I even stated 'car tyre' on that post.

Off to get outraged....🤣

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 20/04/2023 11:01

Can you get a motion sensor dashcam? Or even a notice saying that you have one? If someone thinks they're being watched and recorded they'll probably take more care

whyareallthegoodonesgone · 20/04/2023 11:01

@shintyminty just like the responder didn’t read the reply clearly- I clearly didn’t see her reply in time either as replying to multiples- it happens

You do know 'drunks' don't just come out at night....don't you?

shintyminty · 20/04/2023 11:03

How did you discover your child had a CONTACT allergy to dog pee? Doesn't that cause them issues with their own pee? How on earth did you manage that when they were in nappies?

loislovesstewie · 20/04/2023 11:04

Can I say this thread is barking?

Blossomtoes · 20/04/2023 11:04

loislovesstewie · 20/04/2023 10:52

Actually to be fair, my dog prefers to do his business outside the Conservative club entrance. I'm not making that up!

I love your dog! This is one of the most ludicrously ridiculous threads I’ve ever seen on MN. And the bar is high. Well done @whyareallthegoodonesgone

Starfishing7 · 20/04/2023 11:04

I haven’t RTFT so sorry if someone has already said this, but what if it’s actually multiple dogs because the scent is there and they’re all attracted to it? Maybe you could buy one of those cleaning products specifically for eliminating pet urine odour and wash your wheels thoroughly with that?

Maslina3 · 20/04/2023 11:05

I am so shocked by the answers on this thread. Dog pee is corrosive, we have to replace the metal doors on my mother in laws garage because of dog pee.
Maybe it is not so much a problem in the UK when it is raining a lot, but during a long dry spell you are going to need to rinse the area as soon as possible. The metal work is most at risk, not the actual tyre, but can anyone be sure their dog is just peeing on the rubber tyre.
Also it is disgusting, the smell on a hot sunny day is vile.

whyareallthegoodonesgone · 20/04/2023 11:06

@Dotjones thank you, exactly!

OP posts:
whyareallthegoodonesgone · 20/04/2023 11:07

@GasPanic exactly- I don’t want that stink wafting all over my front garden where my children play

jazzandh · 20/04/2023 11:09

There look to be dog repellent sprays available to prevent scent marking, which may be useful.
