Dogs peeing on car tyres

whyareallthegoodonesgone · 20/04/2023 10:09

Put on AIBU for traffic-
need some advice-
how do I word a message to put on road WhatsApp group?
basically- we have 2 cars- one on drive one outside our hedge on road
daily approx 2-3 times a day- someone is letting their dog pee on the car tyres.
firstly- disgusting. Why??? Just why??? Secondly there are bushes, verges and trees all along the road!
I am sick of cleaning it constantly now.
we have a child with severe contact anaphylactic allergies- we don’t even use that car unless it’s myself or hubby using it alone.
I don’t know who it is that’s doing it.
so wanted to compose a message to put on the road WhatsApp group that doesn’t come across as a doormat or being bitchy either.
appreciate any replies x

Still no idea why your child having allergies is at all relevant

OnNaturesCourse · 20/04/2023 10:45

I'd park on another street for a bit or further along the road, see if it still happens. Invest in car tyre covers or something reflective for them.

Is it always the same tyre?

whyareallthegoodonesgone · 20/04/2023 10:45

@Grumpsy thank you for your concern- if I didn’t have a hobby- I would know exactly who was letting their dog pee on the tyres.

Well, prepare for this message to be screenshotted and shared wildly and perhaps go viral because this has to be the most absurd thing I've ever heard.

Yes, not idea a dog peeing on your car tyre but it happens. How do you know it's a dog and not a fox or another animal?

Secondly, how do you even notice that?

Gee whizz. I can't believe this app isn't charging for content like this.

whyareallthegoodonesgone · 20/04/2023 10:47

@fancyfrogs allergy uk is a very good website to learn about allergies- especially CONTACT allergies.

I don't let my dog cock his leg against cars but sometimes I don't move him quick enough. So he might slightly wet the tyre. And truthfully you are going to be driving over all sorts every time you go out. (Including the vomit that was in the middle of the road this morning).

Yummymummy2020 · 20/04/2023 10:48

Some people are just gross op, a woman walked by me in the park while I was sitting on a bench with my toddlers in a buggy and she knowingly let her dog cock it’s leg on the buggy, I jumped up but it was too late, the toddler in the lower seat had dog wee all over their legs. So so annoying. I know my experience is a bit worse than your tyres but I’m just sharing as I get the annoyance with dogs and weeing on things. Is there anything you could spray on to repel them I wonder? Not really sure what more you could do. I would be reluctant to post it in the group as you might find people do it worse then out of spite!

There are trees planted every 3rd house, bushes for almost every house yet this is the only spot someone can find for their dog to do it’s business?

And?

There's been many a thread from horrified mumsnetters about dogs being allowed to pee up trees and on bushes 😮

whyareallthegoodonesgone · 20/04/2023 10:49

@OnNaturesCourse yes always same 2 tyres- always 2-3 times a day- and no I don’t check- it’s blatantly obvious to see when walking/driving past- the whole road is clean and clear and then there is all the pee running along the road/pavement

whyareallthegoodonesgone · 20/04/2023 10:27

@ejbaxa thank you, exactly my point, one offs ok fair enough- but daily 2-3 times a day- especially when I’ve even washed the car!

Awwww... you just WASHED the car and along come those pesky dogs!! If only they knew eh?

luckylavender · 20/04/2023 10:50

Typical people defending dogs peeing on cars. It's disgusting. Just don't let your dog do it.

pyjamalife · 20/04/2023 10:50

Just curious, are you parked on the pavement with the wheels or fully on the road?

whyareallthegoodonesgone · 20/04/2023 10:51

@loislovesstewie im glad you try to pull your dog away- clearly in my case someone is not and is instead letting the dog do it’s business shamelessly

How did you discover your child had a CONTACT allergy to dog pee?

You do know there is a reason why it's always the same tyres?

That's how dogs mark territory. I don't think it's a personal vendetta. Confused

OnNaturesCourse · 20/04/2023 10:52

Could you maybe park with the other two wheels next to the pavement for a while?

SunshineGeorgie · 20/04/2023 10:52

Surplus2requirements · 20/04/2023 10:40

All dogs should be on leads, wearing muzzles and now nappies...

Won't you think of the children? 😂

😂 that made me laugh!

Typical mumsnet

@Mummyof3Me2021 thank you for your really positive and constructive input- hope you feel elated and have a brilliant day.

Actually to be fair, my dog prefers to do his business outside the Conservative club entrance. I'm not making that up!

SunshineGeorgie · 20/04/2023 10:52

whyareallthegoodonesgone · 20/04/2023 10:43

@OnNaturesCourse that’s the thing- there is damage to the alloy! Which is why I even asked the question

Oooh drip drip drip

Backtoreality1 · 20/04/2023 10:52

Buys some of the spray you can get for deterring animals in teh garden and spray that on your tyres. Most dogs sniff before peeing and so this could well put them off,

Crimblecrumble1990 · 20/04/2023 10:53

If the dog pee is damaging your car then I would lead with that e.g.

I know it's not the crime of the century but my alloy wheels are being corroded by repeated dog weeing on them. I'm washing the tyres now to try and get rid of the scent marking - would be most grateful if anyone is walking pups could they please encourage them away from my car... thanks all

The rest of your post is confusing as can't see the relevance? And if you are parked on public property on the road then it would be hard to enforce.

whyareallthegoodonesgone · 20/04/2023 10:54

@Yummymummy2020 omg! How disgusting! I’m so sorry you your baby x
personally I think that’s a reflection on the hygiene level of that person. Just why?????

OP posts:
Cluelessat33 · 20/04/2023 10:54

I mean what happens when OP finds out there are germs literally EVERYWHERE. Dogs fee. So do cats, foxes, humans, badgers etc etc etc. Also birds I assume poop on the cat from ti

Silly questions, silly prizes.

Thank you. You too! You have certainly brightened my day and I now know that my worries are, oh so trivial, compared to the real ordeals people like yourself are going through.

All the best Wink
