Thomas Cashman's Family

Godzillaisjusthangry · 01/04/2023 08:32

The daily fail have really gone after Thomas Cashman's partner in the paper today, painting her as a gangsters moll.

Do you think she really knew what he was up to? What's the feeling in Liverpool towards her?

AIBU to feel sorry for his kids and wonder what kind of life they will have now? his son and daughter are also victims in this horrible tragedy now. It's so sad.

Don’t think my eyes can roll far enough back in my head

Watch out, they might stay that way.

No, she knew he's a violent thug and drugs dealer and knew her lifestyle was funded from the proceeds of serious crime. She's not an innocent bystander who had no idea what was going on, come on now, don't be silly.

You may be right, or you may be entirely incorrect. The point is that no-one posting here knows the truth of it, so she should be given the benefit of the doubt.
It's better to let 100 guilty persons off the hook than to condemn one innocent person.

Godzillaisjusthangry · 01/04/2023 11:03

Do you think Cashman is in greater danger now he's been locked up? there must be some very dangerous well connected people worried about what he might say. That would put his family at greater risk as they can easily get to them.

People are talking about his family being supported by the gangs but surely those same gangs are worried he'll turn on them.

No because why would he turn.
He's gonna be in a strong position he's well known and got big connections. He's no need to turn grass has he. Suspect what's happened is seen by everyone involved in the OCG as a horrible accident.
And they're not going to be in danger because..who from? Olivias family aren't involved in organised crime so there's no retribution risk.

Zola1 · 01/04/2023 14:23

Isittimeformynapyet · 01/04/2023 13:27

Probably meant "grifter"

No, grafter means someone who sells drugs round here.

Crabwoman · 01/04/2023 14:25

Whichnumbers · 01/04/2023 12:08

Crabwoman. what does a grafter mean?

Here is means someone who works really hard and puts there all into it

It does mean that.

My mum today announced she was on "the salad graft" to lose a few pounds for summer.

It can also mean chatting someone up.

But it's also slang in Merseyside for a drug dealer.

"Bell the grafter, lad"

If you Google 'graft phones', you will find loads of Liverpool Echo articles about drug dealing.

Not sure of the etymology. Assuming it's because they do all the 'hard work' through burner phones.

LorW · 01/04/2023 14:25

The fact that this woman (who also has her own children) stood and supported a man who shot dead a little girl, tells us everything we need to know about her, regardless of whether she did or didn’t know about his drugs and violence.

user146539089 · 01/04/2023 14:26

She knew. Everyone knows who these people are and what they do. I wish Merseyside Police would stop being so fucking wet and put through some doors in Formby and Crosby where the boss men all live.

Andanotherone01 · 01/04/2023 14:26

JackiePlace · 01/04/2023 13:53

So according to The Fail, this woman's crimes are wearing pink, having botox, trying to start a business and being loyal to her loser husband.
Please, can we all try to rise above and resist being manipulated by trash reporting like this. The only thing we should feel for her is pity.

Sorry but trying to take the moral high ground over the ‘fail’ here is seriously fucking misguided. She is as much of a vile shitbag as he is. Please go and take your bleeding heart and save it for Olivia’s poor mother.

BlackBarbies · 01/04/2023 14:26

Thank you to everyone who answered my question. This case is mind blowing and I still can’t believe a little girl was killed because of these people.

When I saw people calling him a child killer, I stopped for a second and thought ‘wait a second, that’s not fair. He didn’t mean to kill Olivia’ but then I came back to reality and thought what sort of person will shoot a gun in front of a child.

What sort of person chases someone and follows them into a complete strangers house to try and kill them? It’s genuinely mind blowing. I feel so sorry for Olivia and her family, it’s awful. I wonder how long his sentence will be

Why would he " turn" on his former associates?

I think some people watch too much TV.

MelsMoneyTree · 01/04/2023 12:26

Yy.
Posters are saying they knew about other violent crimes he'd been linked to ... yet don't seem to consider that violence wouldn't have been limited to outsiders. Violent men are violent men at home too.

But, they'll ignore that to argue it falls to the partners - not the posters on here who seem to know all about him ; not the other men in the gang ; not the police (who should know as much as MN posters fgs).
Here's a man being arrested for murder - let's look for the woman to blame. Hmm

I think Rose West might disagree with you there.

User339406 · 01/04/2023 14:28

You wonder if there comes a point where the partner suddenly realises what exactly they're involved in.
It starts small, seemingly harmless, your partner gradually moves up the tree, gets a bit richer, by the time it really dawns on you how serious it is you're in so deep you just can't get out? I have no idea.

Did she ever lie awake in bed at night before Olivia was murdered worrying about what she'd got involved in, worrying about her safety and her family's safety should anything go wrong for her partner? I can't imagine it's the mose secure of lifestyles. It wouldn't take much for it all to go wrong.

I just can't fathom what goes on in your head in that sort of life.

Or do you sit down together aged 16 or whatever and decide you're going to become the city's top drug dealers? Do you feel so secure and safe that you don't have any worries?

Are you for real? I grew up in these sort of. Circles. ALL the wives know where their lavish lifestyle is coming from, they simply don't care! They may not know each job/ drug deal in detail but they know exactly how the money is being obtained and in many cases help to launder and clean the money!

chevvyroo · 01/04/2023 14:33

Wouldyouever · 01/04/2023 10:34

He is accountable. He was the criminal. He killed an innocent little girl. Not his wife or his family.

Given half the posts on here are about people, predominantly women, who were blindsided by the actions of their partner, it’s interesting that most posters are claiming of course she knew!

It's possible for your partner to hide texts and liaisons from you, sure. But he wasn't hiding his cash/income though was he? How the fuck was this guy earning it then? She is NOT accountable for the murder and no one is saying she is. She is accountable for living off the proceeds of drug crime and all the misery it causes.

Antiquiteas · 01/04/2023 14:34

Of course she fucking did. They all did. They’re all scum. Did you read about their conduct after the verdict? And see their behaviour outside the court? Utter filth.

I can’t wait to read that he’s had his arse handed to him in prison.

Ponoka7 · 01/04/2023 14:35

JackiePlace · 01/04/2023 13:46

I agree. No-one posting here knows what she did or didn't know. He could have told her all kinds of lies about the source of his income.

It's difficult to earn £5k a week in Liverpool and people who legitimately do, don't sit off in houses in Dovecot. If you saw how these women lord it over others in the playground, dance lessons etc, you wouldn't pity them. Her business was low level money laundering, practically every private sunbed shop across the country is. There was always the possibility of her kids being in danger or the house getting raided. She decided that the risk was worth it. She lives on her nice estate while the rest of the council house estate just up the road becomes more and more unliveable and more and more kids end up on CP plans because of their parents addiction/drug use. The women and children up the road are the victims of the pair of them. Three bedroom houses, with gardens front and back up for rent for £400 a month, but they are hard to let because of the social problems caused by the likes of Cashman and Sweeney. The violence used by them, raises the violence used by the whole criminal world.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 01/04/2023 14:38

She knew. Everyone knew. Even the bloody police knew.

reesewithoutaspoon · 01/04/2023 14:39

She benefitted not only financially, but through notoriety as well. The cachet being the GF of someone known as a hitman gives you a certain level of protection in those circles, no one would have dared upset her or her family, because that way retribution lies.
I,ve seen a whole house get its windows put in because the mother dared to tell the kid of a known thug to go play somewhere else. You cant go running to the police about it, because you live in that area and cant afford to just up and leave, so you suffer the consequences if you step out of line.
You don't cross these people. you keep your head down and you don't get involved.

user146539089 · 01/04/2023 14:39

@Ponoka7 is so right. Don’t feel sorry for these women. They know exactly what they are doing. They are the ones running the money laundering side of the enterprise. The whole city knows what goes on except apparently for the police who are spineless twats. Private schools in Liverpool had to bring in a ban on fees being paid in cash because of rules around money laundering. The partners of these men are some of the most hard-faced women you’ll ever meet in your life. They don’t deserve any pity.

Aye they put their kids in private education too. Half the kids at a local private school were from dealer families.

Enfys1982 · 01/04/2023 14:41

I know Mumsnet wont like this but some women are just cunts in the same way that some men are. Not all women are victims ffs.
