Did I do a one night stand wrong?! Getting ripped from my friends

My friends are currently laughing at my “failed” one night stand last night.

Very unlike me, but I met up with a guy yesterday at his place. I’ve come out of a LTR and definitely do not want a boyfriend, at all. I just wanted sex.

Anyway, he paid for me to get to his house for 3pm yesterday (friends thought the time was hilarious for some reason??), we talked for an hour or so and then had sex. After sex he said he’d like it if I stayed the night (I presume for further/morning sex). We watched a film, had sex and then spoke a bit longer. We got on well and had the same sense of humour so it wasn’t awkward or anything! Anyway, I left at around 11 this morning after staying the night (we didn’t have sex this morning, just cuddled).

friends feel I’ve done it wrong because:

  1. I stayed the night? Apparently you should leave straight after the deed? (Not sure why this is weird - it’s nice to sleep next to someone and cuddle?)
  2. We were laughing and talking (apparently this is “not boundaried”)
  3. i arrived too early and should have gone around 10pm

Is there a rule book I’m missing out on?!? Was I a weirdo?? I thought I was being normal!

He paid for you.
Was that just for the transport, was the sex extra?

Villssev · 29/03/2023 19:05

burgledinParis · 29/03/2023 17:59

Well you're pleasant aren't you? At the time I was actually hoping he come to mine or looking for him to convince me to really come over. He did. And as I said - we had a lovely time.

I am pretty much exactly repeating what you said less the “lovely” adjective

Are you trying to have a dig at the OP have consensual sex, that she enjoyed?

Because there is nothing wrong with her doing that!

LuckySantangelo35 · 29/03/2023 19:09

Some people really seem to be struggling with the reality that sex is not just something men want but women want too! And it doesn’t just have to occur within a relationship

She has done nothing wrong I agree. Sly comment.

nomoremerlot · 29/03/2023 19:13

@Hotvimto3 some women don't understand that other women's sex lives are their own decision.

They've been brought up with that awful "nice girls don't shag this way or that"

And it's 2023!

Jesus imagine accepting a woman had her own views and thoughts about who and how she shags,

CalloohCallayFrabjousDay · 29/03/2023 19:14

What do you mean he paid for you to go at 3pm? He paid for a taxi or he paid for you i.e. for sex?

TiredandLate · 29/03/2023 19:16

I'm laughing at myself and my reaction because I wouldn't have thought twice 10 years ago! Good for you. Current me is thinking I'd have definitely gone home to my Oodie and nice pillows afterwards, single men always have such sad pillows.

Sugarfish · 29/03/2023 19:18

Sounds like a one night stand, your friends sound like they’re describing a booty call

Money doesn’t buy consent.

nomoremerlot · 29/03/2023 19:21

I don't understand your point @HoneyPotBee

WeeOrcadian · 29/03/2023 19:22

Last time I had a ONS, there wasn't a rulebook.

Your 'friends' sound like dicks.

JudgeRudy · 29/03/2023 19:22

I'm jealous. Sounds like just what you both wanted. Respectful, attentive, fun....

GatoradeMeBitch · 29/03/2023 19:26

It's really sad that the very idea of a man talking to them and laughing with them seems against the rules, probably because it hasn't happened with them.

Pubesofsoberness · 29/03/2023 19:28

Bloody hell, they guy paid for her taxi what's so hard to understand! And what's so bad about it 🙄

Greenfairydust · 29/03/2023 19:31

I don't get you story at all and I wonder if it is even real...

You arranged to go to someone's house at 3pm and he paid for your transport?

So did you ''meet'' him online and decided to rock up to his house for sex there and then?

It would make a bit more sense if you had met someone in a club/pub that you liked, had some banter and then decided to finish the evening at his place for one night.

To me it is frankly reckless if you seriously went to the home of a complete stranger you have never even met in person to have sex.

He could have been anybody (people often pretend to be someone completely different online), you could have walked into a seriously bad situation if the guy was a perv or even in a trap...

I also don't get why you need to write in details about how many times you had sex to a bunch of strangers.

To me that story is unlikely to be true because I don't many women who have no history of one night stand and suddenly decide to arrange a shag over the internet and deliver themselves like a takeaway...

Or you are really completely naive if you think that this scenario, if it is real, doesn't put you in potential danger.

If I was your friends I wouldn't make fun of you, I would have remind you that you need to be a bit smarter about you get yourself into.

Easterfunbun · 29/03/2023 19:36

@Greenfairydust

All one night stands carry an element of risk.

dooneyousmugelf · 29/03/2023 19:38

Some proper weirdos on this thread. I'd feel like a prostitute because someone else paid for OP's taxi...fucking cheap prostitute then 🤣
OP did nothing wrong whatsoever.

BCBird · 29/03/2023 19:40

I would have thought that mutual enjoyment is the main thing. No rule book. Ignore ur friends observations

HoneyPotBee · 29/03/2023 19:19

@HoneyPotBee

she clearly was consenting though

she was there for the SEX, that’s not what she wanted - not money

Isn’t there just!!

any one would think it was 1954 the way some people are carrying on

im proper cringing

Greenfairydust · 29/03/2023 20:02

@Easterfunbun

Turning up at the house of a man you have never even met to have sex is frankly stupid.

Even the professionals are smart enough to make sure that at least someone else knows where they are going.

How do you know that not one person knew where OP was going?

Anyway, alls well that ends well, OP enjoyed the sex, just not her "friends" critiquing.

Reading this makes me glad I'm almost 50. Men have it way too easy these days.

I'm almost 50. I've had one night stands. Booty calls. Lots and lots of fun. Now settled but so pleased I made the most of being single in London.
