It’s just quite odd…all this with Philip Schofield, then Alison Hammond was brought in, talk of blackmail in the news and she’s not on this week anymore…what on earth goes on over there 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s not just the fake accent, it’s the pretending not to know the English word for things too that gets me.

Just fuck off with that. You are a “professional” man who has lived and worked in the UK for most of your adult life, call yourself a chef and you struggle with the English word for cucumber? Give over.

Like 'Hilaria' Baldwin?

My brother had a boss like this once. They went to France for a summer for a job and when they came back the boss was speaking English in this really weird accent for ages, all 'ow you say the Eeengleeesh word for le café? He didn't actually speak French so it was bonkers.

VWHoliday · 29/03/2023 09:08

I watched it for the first time in years last week as I was ill. I was highly medicated though.

I don't mind Gino. I loved watching him with Gordon & Fred (the nice French one).

VWHoliday · 29/03/2023 09:10

I have a Friend who still has a Scottish accent after many years living in England and it is not faked.

LlynTegid · 29/03/2023 09:12

Is it not just the weirdest of the weird thing that is daytime tv?

Badger1970 · 29/03/2023 09:13

I think it's disgusting how they've covered for PS over the years. Brave my arse, it was like the second coming of Christ when he was about to be outed by the media. Twitter was on fire with comments about him yesterday.

I hope it burns ITV on the arse at some point, frankly, because they've shown no morals keeping people like him and too many others to mention in a career.

DeclineandFall · 29/03/2023 09:17

I was in a small but crowded hospital waiting room yesterday morning and This Morning was on the TV and it cut to Alison Hammond and HW. There had been deathly silence for ages and then a man said Oh I like that Alison Hammond she's great and then that started a chorus of people going oh me too, she's fantastic. It was quite funny. I hadn't seen This Morning for years. Cant stand PS.

LizzieSiddal · 29/03/2023 09:20

It says in the Mail this morning that PS is coming back on Monday!

So he kept quiet about alleged sexual abuse of a teenager, and it’s ok because he later gave a statement to the police?! Why did he stay quiet about this alleged abuse? Will anyone want to watch a person on TV every morning who would do such a thing?

I'd forgotten about Fred and was Judy an alcoholic while she worked on TM or just after?

I used to work on This Morning when it was in Liverpool and we had to sign a non-disclosure agreement valid ‘throughout the Universe’.

WildFlowerBees · 29/03/2023 09:25

I think ITV have been flogging a dead horse for a long while now. Joel Dommet is really scraping the barrel. The whole show needs replacing with something far far better.

Moveoverdarlin · 29/03/2023 09:27

What I find funny is that Philip Schofield got the gig in the first place because of John Leslie’s scandal at the time, he hadn’t been on TV for a while in the early noughties and then his famed and fortune soared, especially after his partnership with Holly. And now it looks like this is the beginning of his demise. I doubt he will ever come back following this. What goes around, comes around.

User135644 · 29/03/2023 09:28

Never watch but know it for two clips. Holly and Phil taking selfies with Boris Johnson. Holly and Phil hugging wrapped head to toe in bubble during Covid.

Oddballs.

ancientgran · 29/03/2023 09:30

I haven't watched it since the Richard and Judy days but I don't get the Eamonn and Ruth love. I never liked him and I've seen her on QVC with her over priced clothes and find her really annoying. Haven't watched PS since the kids watched him years ago and I wouldn't know HW if I fell over her. Alison Hammond seems really loud.

Actually thinking about it I found Richard annoying all those years ago, I was on maternity leave and would watch it if I got a sit down with a cuppa. I liked Judy. Doesn't sound like it's the programme for me as I don't like most of them or don't know them. I'll go back to BBC2 in the mornings.

Of course it's a fake accent! Gino trades on it!

Here he is without it. Oooops!!

Alright geeza 😂😂😂

IMustDoMoreExercise · 29/03/2023 09:32

I record it and watch it when I am cooking and skip through everything I'm not interested in.

Holly and AH were good together this week. The best pairing for a while.

billy1966 · 29/03/2023 09:49

The whole show is tainted with such a sordid vibe.

Never watched it as it wasn't to my taste but have seen clips.

Uncomfortable viewing, and reading threads like this explains it.

PS has always had an odious vibe to me.

rainbowstardrops · 29/03/2023 09:50

I quite like watching it! I'll get my coat

slowquickstep · 29/03/2023 09:54

ITV are worse than the BBC, i think there is about to be an explosion, we will soon know the truth about Holly, Phil, Gino and Ant.

But this is a tease! They’ve set it up so that you hear Gino’s going full on GEEZA in the background as a joke. It’s not a genuinely mistaken overheard thing.

he may well have less of an accent than he makes out but this particular clip isn’t proof of it!

I have a Friend who still has a Scottish accent after many years living in England and it is not faked.

But does your friend say Och Aye the Noo at the end of every sentence while doing a little highland jig? Because Gino is pretending to be the equivalent Italian stereotype - he's a plonker.

ancientgran · 29/03/2023 10:09

Accents are funny though, I know people who seem to have lost their original accent after living in England for years but put them with someone with their original accent and they immediately revert to it. Some people never lose their accents, my mother grew up in Ireland, moved to England at 21 and lived here for over 50 years but her accent never changed. I don't know why as other members of her family became very English but she just never did.

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 29/03/2023 10:12

John Barrowman irritates the titties off me when he 'och aye the noos' as soon as he's back in Scotland.

No, unless she's been the wine 😁
