It’s just quite odd…all this with Philip Schofield, then Alison Hammond was brought in, talk of blackmail in the news and she’s not on this week anymore…what on earth goes on over there 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's had a checkered past
I remember Richard Madeley was caught shop lifting in the 80s or 90s. There was all that with Fred the weatherman :(
I only found out about Gino on Mumsnet.
I've never been keen on Philip schofield even in the early days , he comes over as quite smug and all that fake laughing with Fern Britain. I did used to watch the odd one with her , but I gave up as too many ads and fakery.

Now they have all these latest revelations too.
Maybe time for a new show altogether? Put it out of its misery.

Derailing the thread but as mentioned above what is the BBC catfish programme? I'm ill and looking for some trash to watch! 🤣

Xarrie · 29/03/2023 10:25

It needs scrapping. So many people on here say Holly has been downright rude to them when they've been on/met her too.

It's shit anyway.

I can never remember what it's called but it's about really sad lonely people being romantically defrauded. It's awful really but compelling viewing!

I did watch Richard and Judy back in the day. Fern seems nice enough but Eamonn is a right moody bugger!

Xarrie · 29/03/2023 10:28

I'm sure I read that someone who was inside with Gino said he didn't have an accent at all. The giant prat.

PenelopeTitsDrop3121 · 29/03/2023 10:31

Crinkle77 · 28/03/2023 23:25

I've always believed he puts it on. He's lived here for nearly 30 years and has the thickest Italian accent ever. You think he would have picked up a slight English twang by now.

Yes!! And acting all innocent when it sounds rude. Yawn 🥱🥱🥱

Frankola · 29/03/2023 10:33

I think they come across as very cliquey, and if you're not in their golden circle you ain't coming in. They act like they're untouchable.

Apparently that reputation has been well known throughout the industry for years but now viewers are seeing it too.

It's all well and good to take that approach if your presenters are squeaky clean but they've all had their issues recently. The rota of "wholesome" presenters is definitely diminishing. They need to get in some fresh blood.

potniatheron · 29/03/2023 10:33

I think Judy having a problem with Alcohol is fairly well known in the industry? Anyway I saw her and Richard in Hampstead Village (visiting, I don't live there lol) a few years ago, both very messy drunk and having the mother of all arguments. This would have been about 1pm in the afternoon.

Anyway I agree with @billy1966 the whole show has such a nasty sordid vibe to it like 1970s TOTP.

I don't know how I missed this story about Fred Talbot. I hate him now. Those poor boys.

Wasn't Ian Brown from the stone roses one of Fred's victims?

ImAvingOops · 29/03/2023 10:34

Yep, it's very 'nothing to see here'! We're supposed to watch them wittering on about food or fashion and pretend we don't know that P is in court with his seemingly dodgier brother andAH is in the midst of some blackmail drama.

Shekissedagirlandshelikedit · 29/03/2023 10:37

'For Love or Money' is the romance fraud programme. 3 series on iplayer. Some very sad cases but informative as what to watch out for as the scammers use very similar methods. They're very clever and play the long game to gain trust. You can see how easily a vulnerable person can be persuaded to send money.

I don't think he was a victim but I think he appeared as a supporting witness to some of his behaviour.

AbsoIutelyLovely · 29/03/2023 10:39

They’re all completely dodgy

Genie321 · 29/03/2023 10:39

I cannot stand Alison H.

If you watched her getting pranked on Saturday Night Takeaway a few weeks ago, she really showed how rude she is when she didn't know the cameras were recording her.

PS and the runner boy ...enough said there.

CatchYouOnTheFlippetyFlop · 29/03/2023 10:40

Wasn't Ian Brown from the stone roses one of Fred's victims?

No - but he did give evidence against him in the witness stand

My friend who’s the journalist said exactly that, very cliquey.

She got invited to the awards ceremonies and a couple of her friends worked on This Morning so she was sort of in their clique as it were.

I mean my friend is or used to be a major pita, lots of huge lavish parties at her house with drink and drugs so she can hardly talk, but think she’s knocked that on the head now.

SweetCoriander · 29/03/2023 09:07

Like 'Hilaria' Baldwin?

My brother had a boss like this once. They went to France for a summer for a job and when they came back the boss was speaking English in this really weird accent for ages, all 'ow you say the Eeengleeesh word for le café? He didn't actually speak French so it was bonkers.

Omg, that’s brilliant 🤣What a bellend.

”how do you say wanker in italian, Gino?”

HowcanIgetoutofthisalive · 29/03/2023 10:52

"He's like Harry Enfield as Stavros." (- referring to Gino.) 😂😂true!

KenMastersGoldBracelet · 29/03/2023 10:54

Gino's restaurant getting zero stars on recent EHO inspection has given me the most schadenfreude joy this year thus far.

CheerstoUs · 29/03/2023 10:54

I don't understand what's going on! They keep trying to shoe horn presenters in who clearly aren't up to the job, have zero charisma and can hardly string a sentence together. I don't get it. There must be better options out there!

Surprised this thread is still standing though, considering all the 'speculation'.

Butchyrestingface · 29/03/2023 10:55

Pootlie · 28/03/2023 22:02

I don't know about Alison H but I think Philip Schofield is highly suspect character. I think they should clear out all the current presenters and try again.

Supposedly there was stuff due to come out "imminently" about PS ... in 2002.

Still waitin'...

HectorPlasm · 29/03/2023 10:58

It's all brain dead pap for the brain dead

MarsJupiterMoon · 29/03/2023 11:08

This thread has reminded of ‘this morning with Richard not Judy’ I watched it on YouTube and I’m surprised my mum let me watch it 😂😂😂
