Waters broke 14 weeks is there any hope?

I think my waters broke and I'm only 14 weeks along, i was stood in the kitchen and all of a sudden there was a load of bloody liquid like wee but I wasn't weeing. Maternity unit wouldn't see me because I was less than 18 weeks and EPU is shut so they told me to ring 111 who said go to A&E so now I'm sat in A&E.

There is no hope for the baby though right? :( I have had 3 miscarriages and when this one got to 12 weeks and everything looked OK I stupidly began to relax.

Thank you A&E is really busy and ive only been here 2 hours so will probably be here a while just sat in the waiting room trying not to cry. I know there is nothing they can do and I am grateful they exist but I just wish someone could scan me and tell me what is going on the waiting is killing me

Thinking of you OP and sending hugs. Have you had any actual bleeding- or just the liquid?

LizziesTwin · 26/03/2023 19:33

I stood up when I was 12 weeks pregnant and had a big splash of blood. He’s 23 now.

I was 17 weeks, my local hospital refused to help me at all. I drove to the Royal Surrey and they were amazing - I can’t fault them. There is hope. Good luck OP x x

Oysterbabe · 26/03/2023 19:38

Fingers crossed OP, I hope it isn't.
I shared a room in hospital with someone whose waters went at 19 weeks. They put her on bed rest until 23 weeks then they delivered.

BorisJohnsonsHair · 26/03/2023 19:39

Try to keep strong OP.

Thank you everyone, just been triaged so waiting for the midwife to come down to A&E, my blood pressure was low so now I have a special A&E chair and didn't have to go back to the waiting room so that's nice atleast

Fingers crossed or you too. Have you someone with you or someone you can call for some support?

Hope the midwife isn't much longer.

LynetteScavo · 26/03/2023 19:52

This happened to me at about the same number of weeks. I was so terrified I couldn't get words out at the hospital. He's now 19yo. There is hope xxx

Sending you much love and a hand hold. Please call someone to come and be with you.

zurala · 26/03/2023 19:53

I would hope for the best and prepare as much as you can for the worst. I'm so sorry you're in this situation. Babies have survived pprom at 14 weeks, so it is possible. It may not be all your waters (which can replenish) and doctors can do so much now.
Sending you sticky vibes and love xx
