Waters broke 14 weeks is there any hope?

I think my waters broke and I'm only 14 weeks along, i was stood in the kitchen and all of a sudden there was a load of bloody liquid like wee but I wasn't weeing. Maternity unit wouldn't see me because I was less than 18 weeks and EPU is shut so they told me to ring 111 who said go to A&E so now I'm sat in A&E.

There is no hope for the baby though right? :( I have had 3 miscarriages and when this one got to 12 weeks and everything looked OK I stupidly began to relax.

I had a gush of blood and discharge (sorry for tmi) very early on and it turned out to be a subchorionic haematoma (not sure I’ve slept that right!) which was harmless to the baby but scary as hell: so fingers crossed

I’ve been hospitalised a lot with one of those. The blood loss was horrifying.

I’m so sorry, OP. I can’t say anything useful but I’ve spent so much time in A&E waiting to be seen by gynae, quietly crying. It’s really tough. I’m glad you’re away from the curious looks of others. I was treated very quickly and compassionately by the staff, so I hope the same happens for you.

I had a haematoma with one of mine. A&E were useless had to wait for the EPU to open and go back the next day. Sending positive vibes

Sending so much love and support OP 💐

I was 17 weeks, my local hospital refused to help me at all. I drove to the Royal Surrey and they were amazing - I can’t fault them. There is hope. Good luck OP x x

That’s just awful isn’t it? I really think this needs changing and help available no matter how far you are. I can’t even imagine how traumatic it must be in that situation and having no access to medical advice or help.

No need to respond if it's too personal a question, but was your local hospital Frimley? It fits in with a pattern of other stories that I've heard (although I recognise that it's all anecdata...). Royal Surrey have a very good reputation and are rated outstanding by the CQC (although, I've just had a quick Google and it appears that Frimley is also rated outstanding)!

A friend of mine found herself in a similar situation at 14 weeks, OP, however she went on to have an uneventful pregnancy and delivered a healthy baby at term. There's definitely hope. Flowers

miniaturepixieonacid · 26/03/2023 20:26

I'm so sorry. Hoping for a positive outcome for you.

I'm surprised the more specialist service wouldn't see you given your history. Have you been getting much support? My sister is in an almost identical situation to you (13 weeks pregant after 3 miscarriages) and she has been having weekly appointments and scans from 7 weeks with a recurrent miscarriage team. They did tests to find out what condition was causing her problems, treated her and will continue to see her every week till the conclusion of the pregnancy, whatever that is. It sounds like you deserve more care.

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 26/03/2023 20:26

Not experienced this but really hope baby is ok OP. Hugs x

Yes OP, there IS hope.
there is a YouTuber who had something quite similar happen with dilation as well as waters.
she was put in hospitalised bed rest and gave birth to a healthy babe at 34 wks (in her case they needed to mitigate risk as she had a stillborn before I believe). That was in the US.

i pray all goes well for you and baby xx

Blablablanamechangagain · 26/03/2023 20:31
