Waters broke 14 weeks is there any hope?

I think my waters broke and I'm only 14 weeks along, i was stood in the kitchen and all of a sudden there was a load of bloody liquid like wee but I wasn't weeing. Maternity unit wouldn't see me because I was less than 18 weeks and EPU is shut so they told me to ring 111 who said go to A&E so now I'm sat in A&E.

There is no hope for the baby though right? :( I have had 3 miscarriages and when this one got to 12 weeks and everything looked OK I stupidly began to relax.

Fingers crossed for you OP, I know it must be impossible not to worry but try to avoid jumping to conclusions. Just to say they might ask you to return tomorrow daytime x

I’m sorry you’re going through this op, I really hope and pray it’s not your waters and your baby is fine

Sending love. When I had some bleeding, I looked it up and found that 50% of pregnancies that were assessed for bleeding went on to have healthy pregnancies. It gave me some hope, but I was a wreck until I was told all was OK.

I went on a miscarriage association website. They were great for stats, especially for this, who had had previous miscarriages. If stats makes it easier take a look.

I would hope for the best and prepare as much as you can for the worst. I'm so sorry you're in this situation. Babies have survived pprom at 14 weeks, so it is possible. It may not be all your waters (which can replenish) and doctors can do so much now.
Sending you sticky vibes and love xx

sticky vibes?!

My waters broke when I was 16 weeks, I was told the baby couldn’t possibly survive with no amniotic fluid and that I should terminate pregnancy, I didn’t, my son is now 40 years old, he was born at 30 weeks.

BigBunkers · 26/03/2023 20:02
