and you shouldn't leave it lying around on the stairs in the dark under human feet, then go all hurt and indignant and pitiful when it gets trodden on?

And it really isn't worth a whole packet of dreamies to get back in you good books?

My cat gives no fucks if you stand on his tail. None, just sits there. I once shut his tail in the dish washer door, nada, zip. My cat is hard as nails, he will be king one day.

MermaidEyes · 23/03/2023 20:30

Yabu for not leaving the stairs lights on at all times just in case your master wishes to recline on them after dark.

thecatsthecats · 23/03/2023 20:30

I have just explained to her highness that this worthless one is exhausted, pregnant, sick, miserable and just wants a bit of a rest.

Her majesty does not accept these hollow excuses.

CornedBeef451 · 23/03/2023 20:32

I tried on one of my cats tail this morning. She is a very big cat and insisted on joining me in the very tiny en-suite.

She was extremely displeased and nearly knocked the sliding door of its sliders.

I still feel guilty but she seems to have forgiven me!

CornedBeef451 · 23/03/2023 20:32

*trod not tried. I'm not wearing her, that would be weird.

Okunevo · 23/03/2023 20:34

My cats were so good when I first adopted them, kept tails neatly tucked out of the way, guessing they were at risk of being stood on in their previous home (multiple children). They've become careless since moving in with me!

LeroyJenkinssss · 23/03/2023 20:37

My cat likes to dash through the front door just as you’re closing it. He didn’t make it all the way through once. I followed him round for the remainder of the day trying to reassure him I loved him and I was terribly sorry. They do it to put you in your place.

You need to pray to Bastet and ask for forgiveness.

Humans = always wrong
Feline overlords = always right

HTH it applies to every human-cat interaction

know your place!

Sunriseinwonderland · 23/03/2023 20:46

My kitten has a very very long tail. I'm afraid to move.

Bensteeth · 23/03/2023 21:05

YABU I recently got up to go to the bathroom in the night and briefly sandwiched a tail between thigh and toilet seat. Despite getting up quietly and leaving the cat in the bed she woke up and came to protect me from predators in my vulnerable state. So rude that I repaid her by sitting on her tail. I continue to be apologetic but even after a severe telling off, she now stands guard from the bath tub

EilonwyWithRedGoldHair · 23/03/2023 21:14

My old cat used to react as if you'd jumped on her paw of you walked within a couple of inches. A pained meow, a flinching jump away and then big sad eyes showing how much you had betrayed her trust in you.

I didn’t think this was that weird as my dog has recently decided that I must wear his head as a hat when we’re snuggling on the sofa 😂🙈.

TiaraBoo · 23/03/2023 21:28

If you could post first thing in the morning it would be much appreciated. I am worried about what may happen to you tonight…

Actually, that pack of Dreamies probably saved your life!

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 23/03/2023 20:18

I have also been a bad slave and done the exact same thing. Obviously I was in the wrong for not realising her black tail was on my grey carpet in the dark. The noise they make though!

I know, that piteous high pitched squeal - its been haunting me all day!

I think it's ridiculous that you'd even contemplate owning a cat until you had done the necessary research beforehand, which you clearly haven't.
When you give treats = YABU
When you skritch ears = YABU
When you give them choice bits of chicken or beef from your dinner = YABU
When you provide scratch poles and climbing frames, baskets of toys and mice = YABVU.

Please do better.

YABU. I came here for a picture of tail-owner. There is no picture.

Would you be appeased by a photo of some Non-Taileys

Guinea-pigs don't leave their tails under your feet Grin

DdraigGoch · 23/03/2023 23:43

YABU for even questioning if your cat is unreasonable. Cats are never unreasonable.

Double YABU for posting a cat thread without a photo of the cat concerned. You wouldn't post a parking thread without a diagram, would you?

BreakfastAtHeathrowTheBeerAndTheVino · 23/03/2023 23:49

I'm sure there will be a decapitated mouse on your pillow in the morning as a peace offering.

Or as a threat.

PerrinAybara · 23/03/2023 23:58

One of our cats often sneaks into the downstairs loo when I go in. If I've just gone to wash my hands and not noticed that he's snuck in behind me, then he gets shut in.

Many a time I've heard pathetic mewing and discovered that he's been trapped for the last 30 minutes.

Maybe he'll learn. Or maybe I will.

nocoolnamesleft · 24/03/2023 00:07

Have you considered getting a Manx cat?

thaegumathteth · 24/03/2023 00:07

I am currently in bed. One cat is lying beside me swishing his tail whilst the other sits on my pillow / head and stares at it. I'm scared to move and I'm scared not to move.

catscatscurrantscurrants · 24/03/2023 00:09

The non-taileys are adorable!
