and you shouldn't leave it lying around on the stairs in the dark under human feet, then go all hurt and indignant and pitiful when it gets trodden on?

And it really isn't worth a whole packet of dreamies to get back in you good books?

Yabu. Slaves should be more careful. They are not your stairs.

DeathWinsAGolfish · 23/03/2023 07:42

It was a test, you failed, there will be repercussions...

iamnottoofatiamjusttooshort · 23/03/2023 07:43

How are you still alive ?

EnidSinclair · 23/03/2023 07:43

YANBU OP - they are so irresponsible!

I would also add that if the human feels so guilty that they make you an appointment with the vet to check out the limply hanging tail, you should not refuse to get in the carrier for one hour and then prance around the surgery swishing and flicking said tail with all your might. But that’s just me

Lonecatwithkitten · 23/03/2023 07:44

Only pitiful and indignant when tails is stood on? They need to up their game my mistresses but hard.

Mine had a limp
"Walk for the nice vet" I said to him
Cat "I don't know what walking is, never done it in my life"
He sat in a corner and refused to move Hmm
Thanks for that

cushioncovers · 23/03/2023 07:45

Sleep with one eye open from now on.

Redebs · 23/03/2023 07:45

I was reverse parking and paused to call out to my neighbour's cat to pull his tail in or it would get run over.

He got up extremely slowly, raised the aforementioned vulnerable bodypart and while staring me in the eyes, deliberately sprayed over the bumper if my husband's car parked nearby.

Someone needs to have a talk with that cat about Body Safety.

And attitude.

And cars.

WonderingWanda · 23/03/2023 08:04

It's really your fault for not bring able to see in the dark!

WoofWoofBeachLife · 23/03/2023 08:06

Be afraid 😨 this won't end well 🐈‍⬛

isthismylifenow · 23/03/2023 08:06

Yanbu. But I keep having to tell my tail owner to not use it like a whip. It bloody hurts.

izzywizzywont · 23/03/2023 08:16

we cant possibly judge without a picture of aforementioned tail and its owner

DarkShade · 23/03/2023 08:19

YANBU! See also: stop lying on the bottom step in the dark stretched out long so that you are literally impossible to see, or at least don't indignantly jump up and skulk off in disgust when I approach!

loislovesstewie · 23/03/2023 08:20

Vengeance is mine, sayeth the owner of the tail.

Toddlerteaplease · 23/03/2023 08:22

YABU. Of course it's your fault. A cat is never wrong.

Nimbostratus100 · 23/03/2023 19:43

well, I am pleased to see the tail seems to have recovered, but cant help wondering why it is lying across the stairs in the dark again....

HeckyPeck · 23/03/2023 19:46

HeckyCat says you are very very very very unreasonable.

Yabu. Slaves should be more careful. They are not your stairs.

This is the correct answer. In spades AND with bells on.

lifeissweet · 23/03/2023 20:09

Mine waits at the top of the stairs until I start going down, then bombs past me at the speed of sound before suddenly throwing his anchors down on the bottom step ready to trip me up.

I've had to jump over him so many times because my stopping distance is a lot shorter than his and I would step on the furry little nobber.

I will break my ankle one day.

He won't give a flying fuck.

IncompleteSenten · 23/03/2023 20:11

Ok. Let me save you a huge amount of time.

It's always your fault. doesnt matter what it is. It's your fault.

ShagratandGorbag4ever · 23/03/2023 20:15

If it's behind you, you can't be held responsible for it.

WandaWonder · 23/03/2023 20:16

It's OK you will be paid back when you get home next and suffer that 'look'

I don't know what it is but it is so cat like

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 23/03/2023 20:18

I have also been a bad slave and done the exact same thing. Obviously I was in the wrong for not realising her black tail was on my grey carpet in the dark. The noise they make though!

tommika · 23/03/2023 20:20

Human feet are the humans responsibility and should not be entering the masters sleeping space

tommika · 23/03/2023 20:27

I live in a close and our old cat used to lay in the road
She took great offence when other residents attempted to drive to the end of the road, the car would stop, a Mexican standoff would begin then she would compromise with the stupid human, stand up, stretch, stroll to the pavement, look back in disgust as the car proceeded, turn around, return to her spot, give another look of disgust, and curl back up

One driver in particular would speed down the road and I would wait for the day that she would hit the cat
But she dutifully sped down the road, stopping to wait, then accelerate for the last few metres home
