Randoms using my wheelie bin for their dog shit!

I'm fuming. Put my wheelie bin at the top of my driveway last night for collection today, it's fairly full so the top is slightly open. Just went out this morning (it hasn't been emptied yet) and noticed someone has placed two bags full of dog shit in my bin on top of my rubbish bags! AIBU or is this absolutely disgusting? I don't have a dog and I don't want dog shit in my bin.

I'm with you, OP, on that. I find it pretty disgusting. There are some entitled dog owners. At least your bin was due to be emptied. We had dog poo bags left in the emptied food bins.

MintTeaAndChocolate · 17/03/2023 09:56

YABU

Spidey66 · 17/03/2023 09:57

While it's not ideal, it's better in a wheelie bin, especially if it's about to be emptied, then on the ground. I seriously can't excited about it. I'm a dog owner and while there are usually lots of public bins around where I live (especially in parks and near bus stops) I can imagine it's frustrating if there isn't one en route.

It would bother me. I pay £17.42 every 4 weeks for my bins to be cleaned so that'd really piss me off

The poo is in a bag, not smeared on the bin!
It's not on the floor. It's been picked up & put in a bin. That's about to be emptied. Get a grip!

You are coming across really angry and aggressive on this thread, regardless of whether or not you're being unreasonable, your explosive and disproportionate rage at people disagreeing with you is worrying. Are you ok? I feel like this isn't about dog shit.

Yup.

ShimmeringShirts · 17/03/2023 10:00

Being angry over things that are relatively small and outwith your control is very bad for you.

GemGemGemGemGemGem · 17/03/2023 10:00

I would have no problem at all with this. Especially if they're collecting it today. Why does it worry you? It's a bin! If it was smeared on the lid I'd be annoyed, but in bags? I'm sure they saw the bin out and thought it wouldn't hurt since it was about to be collected. By the way, it WOULD bother me if it wasn't already out for collection or they did it once it had already been emptied!

ProbablyDogNappersHunX · 17/03/2023 10:00

Really couldn't care less if someone puts dog poo in a tied bag in my bin. At least they're picking it up, and pubic bins are few and far between in some places. It's not like it takes up lots of space.

As for paying money to have your wheelie bin cleaned - who the fuck does that? More money than sense.

Ok. The poo is in a bag, so not making the bin dirty, but surely the bin is cleaned straight after emptying anyway? What difference would it make to you?

FWIW I pay a fiver for 4 bins. Also 4 weekly.

dogpoobin · 17/03/2023 10:00

*I’m out for a walk, I’ve finished a can of pop and the street I’m on has their full recycling bins out for emptying.

If I put my can in someone’s recycling bin, am I a disgusting CF, OP?*

Unless your can has excrement in it, then no.

Can you get some kind of lock for your bin? It's pretty disgusting

JudgeJ · 17/03/2023 10:02

MzHz · 17/03/2023 08:46

If you happened to have a poo nappy and were walking past a bin, yea of course could pop it in a random bin awaiting the bin men.

Of course you would, if you were an entitled lovey.

Spirits · 17/03/2023 10:03

I'd be furious, I had to scrub my bin when a stranger's poo bag split against the side. The stench was awful.

vodkaredbullgirl · 17/03/2023 10:03

💩

Keeponkeepigon · 17/03/2023 10:03

A few weeks ago someone attempted to put a dog poo bag in my wheelie bin. But the lid shut before they threw the bag in - so there was a squished dog poo around the lip of my wheelie bin!!!! Absolutely disgusting. Count yourself lucky OP

I knew my ex was on here.

Oakdoor1 · 17/03/2023 10:05

You’ve used the word “randoms” so I take that as you don’t like people who you don’t actually know putting tied bags of dog poo in your bin, but you’d be happy for say a friend to do the same?

I think you’re being completely unreasonable. It’s a bin, bins are for rubbish. I can’t understand why this matters to you so much? Get your bin cleaned when it’s emptied if you care about how clean it is so much.

Also, if I was walking my dog down your street and your bin was out and I had a bag of dog poo I’d put it in your bin. In fact, I’d target your bin specifically every day just to wind you up 😁

dutysuite · 17/03/2023 10:05

I hate it when people do this, makes the bin stink for a week, thankfully I have CCTV so I usually find out which neighbour it is and I return it usually via their letterbox.

iwantmyownicecreamvan · 17/03/2023 10:06

Can you really not see a difference between an empty drinks can and a bag of shite?

HoleyShit · 17/03/2023 10:06

I would be pissed off if someone put poo bags into a bin that was on my drive half empty and not due to be collected for a week.

However, if the bin was being emptied that day then no, I really wouldn't care. Nor would I care if someone put a shitty nappy in there. As long as I don't have to deal with it or smell it and it's going to be gone within the next 30 mins then fine!

SerafinasGoose · 17/03/2023 10:08

Me

So would I.

But it was inevitable the anthropomorphic dog-owners on this site would emerge from the woodwork on the attack. That they think that kind of thing is acceptable says much about the reason dogs have become such a public nuisance of late, and particularly following the pandemic.

I'd never have had dogs jumping up at me with protestations that 'it's okay, he's friendly!' that I've noticed until recent years, although the shit lying all over the pavements has always been a problem.

There are bags full of the stuff left tied to branches in our local woods. It's disgusting. People need to pick up after their own dogs and other members of the public don't need to be a part of that.

YANBU. In any way.

kikedog · 17/03/2023 10:08

If this is the biggest wind-up you've got in your life you should be very grateful.
