Randoms using my wheelie bin for their dog shit!

I'm fuming. Put my wheelie bin at the top of my driveway last night for collection today, it's fairly full so the top is slightly open. Just went out this morning (it hasn't been emptied yet) and noticed someone has placed two bags full of dog shit in my bin on top of my rubbish bags! AIBU or is this absolutely disgusting? I don't have a dog and I don't want dog shit in my bin.

What an odd thing to get worked up about.
It's a bin.
If you needed to throw away a nappy I'd be perfectly happy for you to use my bin (pre or post emptying) rather than you having to carry a smelly, shitty nappy with you for god knows how long. Same with any dog poo in a bag.

Do you spend much time sat in the inside of your Wheely bin? That's the only reason I can think of to be upset by it. It's a bin. It's full of unsanitary shit already.

dogpoobin · 17/03/2023 21:11

Find some actual problems. Jesus wept.

How original. Please try harder.

@NeedAChange91

It's full of my unsanitary shit though. Because it's my bin. That's the point. And I choose not to own a dog so I don't have dog shit in it. It's not a public bin. And I don't want dog shit in it.

No public bins on my walk (when I'm doing a road walk with my dog), it's difficult to carry bag and lead and treats and also a full poo bag.

I can see that that's a response, but, imo, it's not a very good one.
I can understand that sometimes circumstances may combine and a full poo bag plus an available, albeit private, bin waiting to be emptied nearby may be very tempting. And I don't think I'd be too bothered if it was my bin in those circumstances.
But what you describe sounds like planning to go out and deposit dog poo bags in people's bins because of a lack of forward planning.
I appreciate that you're just offering a reason and it may well not be what you do, but the reason isn't reasonable, iyswim.

DizzyLizzyKizzy · 17/03/2023 21:28

@LaMarschallin sorry I don't live up to expectations, I was just answering OPs questions.

What I've learned from this thread is that so many people are just entitled and disgusting. To be honest I already knew that - some of these responses have just reinforced it! 🤮

And some people are very petty and anally retentive. Takes all sorts don't it?!

Devoutspoken · 17/03/2023 21:43

Mint - so if we don't like our bins being smeared with dog shit, we're anally retentive? ok

Can you show us in the OP where shit was smeared on her bin?

twoandcooplease · 17/03/2023 08:45

It would bother me. I pay £17.42 every 4 weeks for my bins to be cleaned so that'd really piss me off

You pay 200 quid a year to have your bins cleaned? What?

MintTeaAndChocolate · 17/03/2023 21:40

The people you are calling petty and anal aren't doing anything to others. They are just wanting to go about their lives without some stranger sullying it.

The dog-shit binners are the ones who are the aggressors in these circumstances, despite being told that their waste isn't welcome. How can you criticize those who aren't doing anything to anyone's property, and try to absolve those who are putting faecal waste where it's not wanted?

Others in this thread have clearly said that is their experience, after dog waste bags break or are squished by additional garbage. No need to be disingenuous.

hotdiggetydog · 17/03/2023 22:03

By the way, it's spelt "pooh"

The bin was full, waiting to be emptied. The bag was on the top.

DrMeredithGrey2023 · 17/03/2023 22:13

There's also no need for melodrama.

The OP is a situation in which the bin was at the end of her drive, the bin was full and about to be collected.

The thread has been filled with talk of festering, attracting vermin, the bag splitting when more rubbish was put top, all situations that have not and would not occur in this specific circumstance.

IF this has happened because someone walked up her drive to her bin, or the bin had just been emptied and it was going to sit there for 2 weeks, or it was put in her recycling, or indeed smeared on the bin, I don't think anyone would have said she was BU.

But the specific situation the OP has asked about? It's pretty silly to get worked up about. She wouldn't have even noticed if she didn't happen to walk by this morning.

Indeed.
Or if you're "pooh-poohing" something eg:
Some posters pooh-poohed the OP's concern about the poo in her bin.

Dr meredith, am I allowed to dislike people putting shit in my bin, which can happen any day of the week? No drive involved.

vodkaredbullgirl · 17/03/2023 22:52

Never mind the shit in the bin, there is a lot of shit flying on this thread.

ZeldaWillTellYourFortune · 17/03/2023 23:05

Blossomtoes · 17/03/2023 22:12

The bin was full, waiting to be emptied. The bag was on the top.

And as this discussion has ensued over many pages, others of us have said that dog waste binners have often used our empty bins, where later garbage squished and opened the bags.

Perhaps bother to read the thread.

Squished, smeared, or intact, I don't want your dog waste bags in my bin and in my area, at least, I need not tolerate it. The law sees to that.

DizzyLizzyKizzy · 18/03/2023 07:23

@ZeldaWillTellYourFortune but this thread is about zOo/ experience, not yours? It was OPs question about her situation, where the bag wasn't split, where it was placed on top of a full bin, where it was due to be emptied, she Ashe AIBU?

The answer based on that is YABU!

I'm sure if you did your own AIBU about people coming on to your property and using your bin (for shit or otherwise) then the answers would be very different

"Anally retentive" gave me a good laugh this morning. Defo heard it all now 😂
