Randoms using my wheelie bin for their dog shit!

I'm fuming. Put my wheelie bin at the top of my driveway last night for collection today, it's fairly full so the top is slightly open. Just went out this morning (it hasn't been emptied yet) and noticed someone has placed two bags full of dog shit in my bin on top of my rubbish bags! AIBU or is this absolutely disgusting? I don't have a dog and I don't want dog shit in my bin.

Why not ask?

As you can plainly see, most people agree with the OP that it's disgusting and inconsiderate.

DeadbeatYoda · 17/03/2023 19:27

I wouldn't do it myself but if the bin is in the street and waiting for collection I can't imagine wasting energy getting upset about it. Mind you, I have a busy life, perhaps you have time to stew about these things.

dogpoobin · 17/03/2023 19:27

@DizzyLizzyKizzy

"I'm really angry you said that" is not something I've said on this thread so you are now essentially making things up.

Ok whatever, but you're the one getting so angry and it's only having a detrimental effect on you! Me? I'm still enjoying my dog walks.

It does fascinate me that people are so narrow minded so as to think that being annoyed by something is reserved only for non busy people. What in the holy shit has my daily schedule and how busy or otherwise it is, got to do with the things that anger me? So busy people not here angry? Bizarre viewpoint.

No public bins on my walk (when I'm doing a road walk with my dog), it's difficult to carry bag and lead and treats and also a full poo bag.

Tough tits. And yes I can see how carrying a rucksack would be hard, poor love.

lemmein · 17/03/2023 19:35

dogpoobin · 17/03/2023 08:53

Why could they not have carried it home and put it in their own bin? Or used one of the many public bins in the area? No excuse, it's fucking unacceptable and nothing will convince me otherwise.

Haven't RTFT but from what I have read so far I'm surprised at the responses.

Someone asked a similar thing last year and most seemed to agree it was a disgusting thing to do. I distinctly remember the thread and responses because before that I've put dog shit in other peoples bins - it didn't occur to me anyone would care, so I was quite surprised at the responses and don't do it anymore.

It wouldn't bother me though 🤷🏻‍♀️

DeadbeatYoda · 17/03/2023 19:35

@dogpoobin
Well you certainly seem to have found plenty of time to bang on about this all day.

WiddlinDiddlin · 17/03/2023 19:35

As long as its bagged properly I really couldn't care less, but 'our' wheelie bins here are NOT ours, they belong to the council, and our council would prefer people bagged and binned poo in any bin, rather than leave it on the pavement.

If you want to stick a nappy in mine, feel free, as long as its bagged and as long as it doesn't jam the lid open so the bin men won't take it, I don't care.

Yes "all day", apart from the large gaps in my posts in which I was working 🤔🤨

It's only the owners that are annoying, not the dogs. Dogs are great, it's not their fault they are owned by dickheads.

eatdrinkandbemerry · 17/03/2023 19:41

You sound a bit crazy 🤷‍♀️it's a bin it's got to be emptied and the tish is ina bag!

Never OK!
I once (and only once) left out a brand new bin (not a dustbin one, a nice kitchen one) with a fitted lid, and a note on the lid for an Amazon delivery.
I'm sure you can imagine the STENCH when I opened the lid, to find a black dog poo bag at the bottom.
It took days and bottles of bleach to remove the smell, and I have to admit to lurking by the window, hoping to catch someone returning for a follow up dump.
I would have absolutely nailed them-disgusting, entitled, lazy bastards.💩😱😱👀

Highlights12 · 17/03/2023 19:49

Yanbu. Wonder what all the dog owners who are saying it wouldn't bother them would be saying if they weren't a dog owner.

crossstitchingnana · 17/03/2023 19:49

I wouldn't put my dog poo in someone else's bin, although I have been tempted, but would not give a rat's arse if someone put it in mine.

However, putting it in my recycling would piss me off.

Indeed. Or if I put my child's shitty nappies in their bins.

Sad Trash Talk GIF

And my bin was outside my front door, behind railings and a gate, and clearly wasn't a dustbin-they either walked through the gate or leant over the railings 😲

@dogpoobin I think you need to find a better way to cope with what has happened. It will almost certainly happen again. You are unlikely to succeed in your quest to stop people putting bags of dog poo in your bin when it's out for collection. Perhaps you would be better off trying to find a way to better deal with situations like this instead of spending much of your day "fuming" and being "angry" and having a futile argument on MN.

Right now you, somewhat ironically, are doing a good impression of a terrier with a bone. Let it go.

I would say that your reaction seems very strong for something that is at most a small inconvenience to some people. You’ve said you have health issues including mental health issues so this may be why. I don’t think posting here is going to help you.

For what it’s worth, this wouldn’t bother me, although people would have to come on our property to use our bins which I’d be more bothered by. I wouldn’t use someone else’s bin for anything though.

How rude are you??? 💩
