Randoms using my wheelie bin for their dog shit!

dogpoobin · 17/03/2023 08:39

I'm fuming. Put my wheelie bin at the top of my driveway last night for collection today, it's fairly full so the top is slightly open. Just went out this morning (it hasn't been emptied yet) and noticed someone has placed two bags full of dog shit in my bin on top of my rubbish bags! AIBU or is this absolutely disgusting? I don't have a dog and I don't want dog shit in my bin.

How lovely for the bin men.

As if I left it on for bin day!

redboxer321 · 17/03/2023 17:24

If dog shit inside bins attracts rats, wouldn't olive oil and lard on the outside do the same?

Not that I noticed but I've never noticed rats. Mice in my back garden though. Back onto a field.

DrMeredithGrey2023 · 17/03/2023 18:43

In that case @jemimapuddlepluck that wouldn't have helped in the OP's case, would it? As it happened whilst the bin was out for collection.

It wasn't going to fester, it wasn't going to attract vermin, it was going to be gone within a matter of hours.

It's so melodramatic.

And to insinuate that someone's home isn't clean and tidy, just because they wouldn't mind if someone put a bagged shit in their outside bin for a small amount of time is just a reach and a half.

dogpoobin · 17/03/2023 18:49

Interesting responses!

And yet so far not one person has given a valid response to the following:

Why can you not take your bag of shit home and put it in your own bin? Or use the next available public bin?

@ZeldaWillTellYourFortune sorry I missed the bit where the shit bag broke and leaked for OP!

Because it didn't happen!

It happened to me which is why I bring my bin in as soon as it has been emptied. The bag split and the rubbish it was intended for squashed the shit all over the bottom of the bin. It was a bastard to clean.

No public bins on my walk (when I'm doing a road walk with my dog), it's difficult to carry bag and lead and treats and also a full poo bag.

Oh come on. Treats in pocket? 🙄

Oh god no, I feed my dog raw and he'd be sniffing my pockets for days if they went in my pockets!

Definitely a separate treat bag is needed, Amazon sell loads!

I never said it broke for the OP. Reading comprehension?

PPs have said it's happened to them, and it has to me as well. Those bags are thin and flimsy and prone to breakage.

DizzyLizzyKizzy · 17/03/2023 18:59

@ZeldaWillTellYourFortune mine aren't, never had a split or break 🤷‍♀️

Get a backpack. Take you shit home in it.

MeinKraft · 17/03/2023 19:04

If we leave our bin out at all after it's been emptied it'll have loads of dog poo bags in it. People use our road to walk their dogs around, it doesn't seem to occur to them that residents don't want to wade through their dogs crap or have it in their bin.

dogpoobin · 17/03/2023 19:05

@DizzyLizzyKizzy

The logistics of your dog walk and treat carrying are not my problem to solve. You chose to have a dog, not me. So take the shit home with you or put it in a public bin and not mine. In the same way I chose to have my child and so her shitty nappies are mine to dispose of appropriately in either my own or public bins! It's not hard.

Sorry I thought you asked AIBU? I'm saying you are, did you not want opinions?

You asked why people wouldn't take the dog poo bag home with them, I answered?

If you don't want opinions or answers, then why have you asked?

dogpoobin · 17/03/2023 19:09

@DizzyLizzyKizzy

I wanted an answer. And I have a legitimate response to that answer. To paraphrase my response - its not a valid reason to use someone else's bin. Or is an OP not permitted to have a response to someone else's response? Have I missed this in the rules somewhere?

Plump82 · 17/03/2023 19:09

I agree it's disgusting. It happens round here. I left the garden waste just a bit too close to the street and hadn't realised people were using it for poo bags. Took it out the day it was just to be collected and the bin men refused to empty it!! Wasn't until I saw it hadnt been emptied that I realised what people had been doing.

Fine but you seem really angry that I have you an answer....

You seem really angry that people do think YABU.

You asked...

DizzyLizzyKizzy · 17/03/2023 19:10

*gave not have

dogpoobin · 17/03/2023 19:11

@DizzyLizzyKizzy

Indeed I am angry. Because I don't want disgusting random dog shit in my bin. It's that simple really. Take it home or use a public bin.

Ok, but you've asked opinions, you've got them but then seem angry?

AIBU?

Some people ... Yes

I'm really angry you've said that?

🙄

Don't ask, if you don't want the answers.

DizzyLizzyKizzy · 17/03/2023 19:14

@MonumentalLentil I don't have my bins cleaned, but no, not at the bottom of a bin.

DeadbeatYoda · 17/03/2023 19:24

dogpoobin · 17/03/2023 08:53

Why could they not have carried it home and put it in their own bin? Or used one of the many public bins in the area? No excuse, it's fucking unacceptable and nothing will convince me otherwise.

So why ask?
