You've had a roast dinner at 2pm. Would you want to eat again before bed?

Big roast with all the trimmings - pork with crackling, 3 veg, Yorkshire puds, stuffing, gravy, bread to dip ect.

Would you want anything before bed, apart from a cup or tea or two?

YABU - yes i'd want/need to eat again.
YANBU - nope, that would do me for the rest of the day.

I'd want to eat again.

I wouldn't though.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 05/03/2023 17:20

Yup. Not a necessarily meal, but at least a slice or two of toast at about 9.30.

But I am a fat bezzler.

TheChosenTwo · 05/03/2023 17:21

I’d not want to eat again but my dc would expect another proper meal.
We rarely have our main meal at lunchtime unless going out for Sunday lunch for an occasion etc, dhs roasts are legendary!

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 05/03/2023 17:21

Nothing massive, a cheese and ham toastie or something.

BrieAndChilli · 05/03/2023 17:21

I’d probably want something with a cup of tea about 8pm, maybe some biscuits or a crumpet.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 05/03/2023 17:21

I'd probably have some nuts or a packet of crisps at about 9.

Chocadore · 05/03/2023 17:21

I'd like to think I wouldn't. But I would. Probably cheese and crackers with a(nother) glass of red wine 🍷

Boxe · 05/03/2023 17:21

I don’t get why a roast had to be a bigger than usual meal. Surely if you ate any meal at 2pm, you’d want something later in the day?

When I have a roast, it’s the same amount of food as I’d have of any other type of food.

FoxInSocksSatOnBlocks · 05/03/2023 17:21

Of course. I’m not a big eater and only weigh 6 stone but I still need 3 meals a day.

Deadringer · 05/03/2023 17:21

No matter how nice or big the meal is I can only eat so much in one sitting, so yes I would want a sandwich or something later on, maybe around 7.

Dixiechickonhols · 05/03/2023 17:21

Yes I’d have a light meal eg toast.

PinkiOcelot · 05/03/2023 17:21

That would do me for the rest of the day. I might have a bit of fruit or something, but that would be it.

Startuplife · 05/03/2023 17:22

Yes absolutely. Even if the meal was at 4.30 I’d be peckish before bed. Although my parents who are not even that old would consider anything other than a cup of tea or glass of wine after Sunday lunch the height of gluttony.

Are your meals always the same size regardless if they are breakfast lunch or dinner?

Twattergy · 05/03/2023 17:22

A small snack in the evening prob. Unless I'd done a big walk or exercise that day in which case maybe more food.

WiddlinDiddlin · 05/03/2023 17:22

I might, and others might, it depends on what they've done all day, how long they'll be staying up, what else they're going to do today and actually how much of that they ate.

If you want to, then do. If you don't, don't.

GoodVibesHere · 05/03/2023 17:22

God yes I'd definately eat again. A lot of it is vegetables anyway so not filling for long.

R0ckets · 05/03/2023 17:23

Yes I would definitely want something else to eat even if it was just a sandwich.

Most adults won't go to bed until approximately 10pm so that's a solid 8 hours with nothing else to eat which lots of time in which to get peckish.

Butchyrestingface · 05/03/2023 17:23

Probably not. Wouldn't judge anyone who did thought.

All tummies are equal, but some are more equal than others.

Hahaha yep that's what DH's parents were like!

Same.

ShinyMe · 05/03/2023 17:23

It's not greedy to not be able to go 18 hours without eating. I'd probably feel quite full after a sunday lunch, but I would definitely need at least a light evening meal, I couldn't go through til breakfast, and I don't believe it's healthy or normal to be able to go that long with nothing.

Serialcatmum · 05/03/2023 17:23

I’d be hungry by half 8/9. I’d want some fea/ light dinner.

Maybe a sandwich and crisps or some waffles etc.

LabradorEyes · 05/03/2023 17:24

Yes, absolutely. I'd be hungry by 8pm again and would probably have scrambled eggs or similar
