This is abuse. What kind of parent takes their baby to a show like this?

@CryptoFascistMadameCholet - yup, amazing how panto has been going for donkeys years, without an arse cheek in sight, and yet it’s regularly rolled out as a gotcha.

Do any detractors have footage of panto dames wearing thongs and high heels whilst spreading their legs? Am sure we’d all (not) like to see the evidence.

Mannymoomin · 04/03/2023 02:57

Am I missing something here?

How come the organisers have been given a license authorising the sale alcohol?

There are strict laws regarding alcohol licensing, one of the conditions is protecting children from harm, only the council can issue an alcohol license, temporary event notice.
Are we really living in a world that any council has actually agreed that this is acceptable?

Sorry if this has been covered, but this a massive failure on the council where this has taken place.

Mannymoomin · 04/03/2023 03:06

Unless this didn’t happen in the UK? Sorry I can’t see where it was. I really hope it’s not though.

The organisers have been hiring function rooms in licensed venues - the pics in this thread are from two venues in Leyton/Leytonstone in East London.

I agree it’s potentially a massive licensing violation, but I guess someone would have to report it for any action to take place?

EpicChaos · 04/03/2023 03:09

Apropos panto's...
Funny how the tra's never mention the panto horses, or the panto cows!
You can't get butter from a panto cow and you wouldn't put a panto horse in the Grand National!
I'm not a principal boy but i know what magic beans look like!

Im sorry but it's paedo vibes, it's vulgar, why on earth would you expose a child to this. Absolutely disgusting

That is terrible.
This needs reporting to their local council, it really does need flagging up with the councils licensing team for a review of their premises license.
Alcohol licensing is something taken very seriously, it also needs reporting to the police.
The police can ensure a review of the premises license takes place if they have concerns.
They don’t take lightly failures in complying with the license conditions, as I said, one of those is protecting children from harm.

I will raise a report to their local council and police myself. This is dangerous, from a licensing perspective, I operate a licensed business, and none of this is legal in terms of alcohol licensing, I really can’t believe those venues haven’t had license reviews already.
I suppose unless you’re a personal license holder you wouldn’t know, but no, it definitely doesn’t comply with license conditions.

TheKeatingFive · 04/03/2023 03:26

I think it’s fantastic. It’s more entertainment for the parents with plenty of sensory stimulation from the colours, dancing and singing for the kids

Ah, so open minded your brains fell out.

You must be so proud

Mannymoomin · 04/03/2023 03:33

Well I’m not ashamed to say I have raised this with their council.
[email protected]
is the email address if anyone local knows details of the venue(s) this has happened.

Delphinium20 · 04/03/2023 03:34

Those stilettos are gonna poke an eye out.

Moms typically want to protect their babies from bad things...this is so bizarre.

Ineke · 04/03/2023 03:35

Bewildered babies and toddlers. Adults intent on destroying their innocence with wokeness. Repugnant.

The venues are named over on the other thread (in the feminism, sex & gender section).

Mannymoomin · 04/03/2023 04:02

CryptoFascistMadameCholet · 03/03/2023 22:40

And the venues!

These are licensed venues, licensees have a shit load of obligations regarding alcohol sales, child safeguarding and legal-but-undesirable behaviour (eg gambling and getting black out drunk & what is described as ‘sexual entertainment’ you even need a licence to play recorded music!).
The fines for breaching your on-licence are hefty and will usually be enough to close a business.

The venue management have been utterly, utterly stupid and can’t even blame naivety as you have to sit an exam on the relevant law before magistrates grant your licence.

Magistrates don’t grant the licenses anymore, premises licenses are now granted by the local councils, although they work closely with the police and the police also now have to agree to it.

Personal licenses -which someone within the licensed premises must hold - A course must first be undertaken, personal license holders are also subject to dbs checks and mustn’t have any criminal convictions.

But yes, lots of breaches by the venue.

For one, the sale of alcohol to a mother and baby group, with potentially alcoholic caregivers, how are those children being cared for with intoxicated caregivers.

Another, how much alcohol is being sold, another license condition is that there can’t be promotions on the sale of alcohol, so if they’re being served alcohol at a rate they’re effectively paying for cheap alcohol, that’s another breach.

Then there’s the personal license holder, a personal license holder needs to be present to ensure that there are no breaches to the premises license, if the personal license holder has allowed this, then they’ll be in trouble separately. If there was no personal license holder, well, that’s another breach for the venue.

And then you get to sexualisation these young children are being exposed to.

Absolutely awful all round.

davegrohll · 03/03/2023 20:29

What the actual fuck is going on here? 😐😐

Grooming.

Groom the parents and it is easier to groom the child.

Icenice · 04/03/2023 04:04

Helleofabore · 03/03/2023 22:02

So a burlesque performer is using their child as a prop while they are mostly naked to sell their business?

And this lowering of sexual boundaries for this child is supposed to be a good thing?

Not everything is about sex!
Maybe for you but don't project onto others

Icenice · 04/03/2023 04:17

Ourladycheesusedatum · 03/03/2023 22:05

Well neither of them knows anything about safeguarding, evidently.

Do we think they'll backtrack when the obvious flaws are pointed out?

This thread seems to be populated by safeguarding experts.
I'd be interested to know the thoughts of someone who actually works in safeguarding.... Rather than people just using the word.
This is aimed at parents of very young babies, babies are with their parents at all times. Why not focus your attention on the poor regulation of many children's activity groups and the police failings around actual abuse? Ah right because this is about being anti trans, not about safeguarding.

Are you missing the point that this has happened at two licensed venues.
Nothing about this is legal, and I wouldn’t at all be surprised if the venues have their licenses revoked.

Bloopsie · 04/03/2023 04:22

It is full on grooming..these people should be arrested. There is a reason why kids are not allowed to enter strip clubs either.

Thank you, I’ll have a look for it. This has really irked me, when I already can’t sleep.
My local police force would have my license revoked in a heartbeat for this.

Ohyouareawful · 04/03/2023 04:32

The two mothers that organized this have lost all sense of appropriate boundaries and that is all a groomer needs. Unfortunately by the look of the crowd of mothers who brought their babies they are not the only ones. This stuff is dismantling the natural instincts and protections that parents have toward their children. Would as many dads be willing to take their babies to this?

Isn’t this illegal? If its not it should be.

I hope those grinning idiots who think it’s all a bit of ‘harmless’ fun take a long hard look at why their mugs are plastered all over social media and the Daily Mail today. Hopefully they may reflect on their life choices and what wholesome role models they are choosing for their DC.

Or maybe they think they’re progressive rebels “I’m not a regular mom, I’m a cool mom.” Yeah ok love. 🙄

100 percent agree

I just posted this link form the Times in the FWR thread but I'll put it here as well.
