That every one has forgotten they all hated Camilla?

I'm very puzzled why no one talks about how hated Camilla was the 80s/90s?? The tabloids absolutely tore her apart. But now she is 'Queen' and we have all conveniently forgotten. I have no personal interest in the royal family, I'm just perplexed.

I never hated her. I was probably too young to pay attention to the media.

The 80s were a time when a royal divorce was unthinkable. Attitudes to affairs were probably different. Plus it's a long time ago and people have relatively short memories. I think also the fact that her and Charles stayed together, and it came out afterwards how he had always wanted to marry her and was forced to marry someone he didn't want to as part of his role...made people see them in a different light, with a bit more sympathy.

Just spend some time on the Queen Consort threads and you'll realise not only haven't some people forgotten but they've also carried over that hate to the present day.

I never hated Camilla or adored Diana. It’s 25 years ago. Feelings mellow. Most people have seen that Camilla and Charles work extremely well together.

The Daily Mail is stirring at the moment by putting out headlines saying things like Camilla will just be known as 'Queen' rather than 'Queen Consort' and how her children will have starring roles at the coronation.

The stirring is working judging by the comments being written against the articles - people are just as nasty about her now as they ever were.

People are so easy to rile up!

I have never cared either way about her and can't say I rated Diana highly either. I think those who disliked her no doubt still feel the same way.

Attitudes change over time and Diana isn’t around any more. And anyway, many of us have no strong feelings about her nor ever did.

My parents never hated Camilla and don’t now. I don’t know anyone that did / does.

I never hated her either and always thought it a shame Charles had to marry Diana. Surely everyone forgave and forgot at their wedding years ago? You could tell they were in love.
I don't mind calling her Queen either, it was good of them to call her Queen consort after The Queen died rather than Queen straight away too.

I think I'm too young to have strong feelings. I remember the media frenzy about Diana but not so much about Camilla.
Watching The Crown on Netflix has given me some insight - although clearly big pinch of salt needed.
