Beauty students asked to strip in front of trans rapist at college AFTER sex attacks

My AIBU title taken from this news article:

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/beauty-students-asked-strip-front-29063499

This whole 'Isla Bryson' cluster-fuck has me angrier than I can describe.

These girls had to accept and trust this vile individual in their beauty course on the basis of Isla's claim to be a woman, nothing more. They even tolerated abuse from Isla.

They were not told this individual was facing charges of rape. The college claim they didn't know either. Because 'Isla' said he was a women, these young women felt they had no choice but to strip to virtually naked in front of him. Failing to do so would be 'bigoted'.

But he also happens to be a serial rapist. Young women, some possibly aged 16 or so, stripping to virtually naked while a serial rapist watches. If this was my daughter I would be going mad.

Where is the safeguarding?

AIBU to feel viscerally angry with all our politicians about this?

I’d have been laughing if it wasn’t so serious, at the trans brigade who are now saying ‘ but he’s not proper trans, he’s a fake, he’s just taking advantage.’ But I thought if a bloke said he was a woman then he’s a woman, that you mustn’t question them and I thought they said no one would take advantage.

The mental gymnastics the trans activists engage in must be knackering.

That that isn't even any kind of defence!

The concerns raised were about the potential for predatory men to abuse the system.

Trying to claim that this isn't an issue because he isn't "proper trans" is saying that this guy is a faker trying to abuse the system which is exactly what people are warning about!

Hoisted by their own petard here I feel.

There will be a tsunami of horrors coming out in the coming weeks, the cat is out of the bag and people can finally speak without fear about the effects of the slow creep of self id that's been snuck in by the back door. Those poor girls, and so many others still to speak out.

I hope so.

I hate the thought that women have suffered because of this national psychosis, but we all know that they have, and that they have been silenced.

I hope this gives them the courage and support to speak out - to go to their local newspapers and TV and radio stations and say what has happened to them; to tell friends and family; to go hugely public on social media -anywhere there is an audience.

If this doesn't change then women's lives won't be worth living.

Quite, but it isn't the activists that concern me, it is all the people in positions of power that have been mislead by them. Hopefully this signals a pendulum swing away from this to a more reasonable and safer place as these people realise that swallowing the trans ideology whole is not a vote winner or way to protect your job.

It's good to see this thread here.

I've been carrying the badge of honour of "TERF" for years now and I hope many other women will stop being afraid and join us.

Like someone else said in this thread, you can not push and believe in self-ID and then claim this rapist is not who he says he is. And this is happening now with a prison, what about all the shelters, beauty courses, changing rooms, schools, girl guiding...

Can we all now bring back up past issues that were wiped under the rug? Can we also finally talk about the harm being done to confused gay and autistic children under this self-ID affirmation model?

YANBU

I hope this is the beginning of the end for this madness and the erosion of women's rights and basic safeguarding

I also hope that the younger generations of girls who have been very vocal in agreeing that you are whatever gender (sex) you decide you are now realise that it is they who are being set up and manipulated. I hope they will find strength in numbers to start saying no to this dangerous nonsense.

This has sod all to do with Bryson's trans status - would it have been any different if the situation was a cis man accused of rape enrolled on a beauty course?

Oh hi there Nicola, good of you to pop in...🙄

Commenting on this case, Sturgeon said: "This individual case is not about whether they are trans or not, in this individual case this is a person who's been convicted of rape, so this individual is a rapist and a sex offender and that is what's important."

Seriously, where is the logic?

It's everything to do with whether this person is trans or not.
Rape (Graham's crime) is an offence that can only be committed by a man (the Sexual Offences Act 2003 makes that clear).
This "person", this "individual" has committed rape, therefore this person is male.

Sturgeon ties herself in knots trying not to say "man" because to do so would be admitting that a transwoman is not a woman.

'She went to the head of the department and said we were all discriminating against her and were homophobic. I was really offended and hurt by that and didn’t go to college for three weeks because I was scared'

Shona Robison:

'There is no evidence that predatory and abusive men have ever had to pretend to be anything else to carry out abusive and predatory behaviour.'

www.gov.scot/publications/gender-recognition-reform-scotland-bill-cabinet-secretarys-statement/

I really hope Shona Robison is starting to feel ashamed and embarrassed by the stupidity of that comment.

Yet Sturgeon had to step in and make a person intervention to override the Scottish Prison's policy since 2014 to house prisoners according to self ID to prevent a convicted rapist from serving their sentence in a woman's prison.

She knows it is everything to do with the trans issue, she is just trying to save face from what is an utter car crash of her own making gone about to purely engineer a constitutional clash with Westminster.

BigFrau · 27/01/2023 16:08

Agree.

It's such a mess.

Putting this person, their sex and crimes aside - why are college aged students stripping completely naked!

This is a massive safeguarding issue in itself!

ThePoshUns · 27/01/2023 16:13

This is a disgrace. I hope sturgeon and all those who support her feel ashamed of themselves.
I am so angry but feel such impotence as there is nothing I can do about it all.

Let’s be honest Isla Bryson does not exist

HE is called Adam Graham

Bang on the money, if he dropped dead tomorrow and his skeleton was dug up years later, testing would show he is a man and carries the Y chromosome, no amount of beauty courses and skirt wearing can ever change that...

WomenShouldStillWinWomensSports · 27/01/2023 16:18

Absolutely awful. I feel like there needs to be a separate category of "trans rapist" in all the crime recording etc instead of recording them as "male" or "female" not because trans ideology has any place here, but to shine a light so we can procure meaningful statistics that rip the whole lid off this nightmare and prove that it's turtles all the way down.

DdraigGoch · 27/01/2023 16:20

but we all accepted her for who she wanted to be

What's gone wrong with the way that this generation has been brought up that it doesn't occur to them to say "no"? It doesn't seem in this case as if they have been intimidated into staying silent (which would be understandable), no, they've almost been brainwashed into accepting this as perfectly normal. We should be teaching our daughters to recognise red flags, and to have to confidence to say "no" when confronted with one.

Beowulfa · 27/01/2023 16:20

We're told repeatedly that trans women are the most oppressed people on the planet. Who was the oppressed one in that classroom?

stripedsox · 27/01/2023 16:20

Self ID can fuck right off. If you were born with xy choromsomes [you are a male] no amount of chopping off, adding bits and wearing make up makes you a woman.
Be kind can fuck off too, so sick of these men trying to keep women down at heel. I always think they are secretly scared of women nowadays because we are showing we are strong and no longer putting up with male bull shit.
And breathe.....

oakleaffy · 27/01/2023 16:27

Men using “Transwoman” as a mask to abuse and leer at women- and the “ Right ons” allowing it at the expense of women is deplorable.

Sugarfree23 · 27/01/2023 16:27

I've just heard this on the Radio. I really hope this totally turns the tide on the whole TWRW.

Part of the issue is the whole innocent until proven guilty. And the 2/3 years it taking for cases to come to court.
The Barrister on the radio was also talking about someone who raped a student at Glasgow Uni was kicked out and accepted by Edinburgh Uni.

Sturgeon should hang her head in shame. Absolutely shameful she has done this to the women of Scotland.

This is what feminists have been flagging up the whole time.

Gymnopedie · 27/01/2023 16:35

As if I wasn't angry enough about the story, this, from the girl in the article, has sent me into the stratosphere...

Rachel, a nail technician from Dundonald, South Ayrshire, said: “We started college when she was beginning her transition. It was a class full of young girls. She [Bryson] was refusing to do practical stuff at first because she said she didn’t feel comfortable.

So you're a terf or transphobic if you're a woman who doesn't want to get undressed in front of a man, but it's OK for him to refuse because he's uncomfortable. What double standard hell is this???

😡

This has sod all to do with Bryson's trans status - would it have been any different if the situation was a cis man accused of rape enrolled on a beauty course? I've had a couple of male hairdressers and they must have done a hair and beauty course at college; it's not a female-only environment.

This has everything to do with a lack of information sharing between agencies; I'm surprised if the police aren't meant to share information about such charges where the individual in question is coming into contact with under 18s; certainly they would have had to if Bryson was a member of staff so it seems a bit of a loophole when the person in question is a mature student.

Someone else on the radio said the Beauty courses were all single sex (probably because of the intimacy of practicing on each other, massages and spray tans,)

Hairdressing is much less intimate. Even in a working environment they tend to be in an open room with other people.

Beauticians tend to work alone in single rooms

ReneBumsWombats · 27/01/2023 16:36

Correct. It isn't because he's supposedly trans. It's because he's a man. An adult human male. Who does not belong in places specified for adult human females.
