This whole 'Isla Bryson' cluster-fuck has me angrier than I can describe.

These girls had to accept and trust this vile individual in their beauty course on the basis of Isla's claim to be a woman, nothing more. They even tolerated abuse from Isla.

They were not told this individual was facing charges of rape. The college claim they didn't know either. Because 'Isla' said he was a women, these young women felt they had no choice but to strip to virtually naked in front of him. Failing to do so would be 'bigoted'.

But he also happens to be a serial rapist. Young women, some possibly aged 16 or so, stripping to virtually naked while a serial rapist watches. If this was my daughter I would be going mad.

Where is the safeguarding?

AIBU to feel viscerally angry with all our politicians about this?

And I don’t necessarily mean the staff members directly. I mean the leadership of that college who didn’t have the guts to do what was right.

I mean the government, civil service, local councils, law makers. They’re all complicit in allowing this shit show. Shame on them all.

Many of them haven’t just allowed it, they’re directly involved in driving it.

(Just so we don’t let people off the hook on this. NO you didn’t just accidentally allow this terrible situation to arise because you ‘hadn’t thought it through’. That excuse doesn’t fly anymore. YOU did this. YOU drove it.)

I'm still stunned to discover there truly are people openly in favour of women being compelled to validate a man with their body by undressing it in his presence, whether or not they consent or however distressing they may find it. And that those people will only graciously see a bit of an issue and grant those women a get out clause from this social duty after the man turns out to be a convicted sex offender.

They were coerced into undressing in front of an obviously unpleasant man, with threat of expulsion, if they didn't go along with the fantasy that he was a woman.

Even if he had been or appeared entirely pleasant/as benign as a man can be, he STILL did not belong in the room whilst young girls/women were in states of undress. Every decent man absolutely knows this, and agrees.

Those girls/women should NOT have been coerced into this.

They did . But no one is allowed to say that are they? All must bow to the god of gender or face punishment. The college couldn’t kick him off the course just as rape crisis centres and domestic violence shelters can’t exclude males if they claim they have the special trans state.

The worst thing is @Happylittlechicken , at the moment they still can - the GRA allows some spaces to still remain fully female if it is necessary for the safety, dignity and privacy of women - unfortunately all of these places are falling over themselves to be "inclusive", so they just fling open their doors.

This may change, of course . . .
