Beauty students asked to strip in front of trans rapist at college AFTER sex attacks

My AIBU title taken from this news article:

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/beauty-students-asked-strip-front-29063499

This whole 'Isla Bryson' cluster-fuck has me angrier than I can describe.

These girls had to accept and trust this vile individual in their beauty course on the basis of Isla's claim to be a woman, nothing more. They even tolerated abuse from Isla.

They were not told this individual was facing charges of rape. The college claim they didn't know either. Because 'Isla' said he was a women, these young women felt they had no choice but to strip to virtually naked in front of him. Failing to do so would be 'bigoted'.

But he also happens to be a serial rapist. Young women, some possibly aged 16 or so, stripping to virtually naked while a serial rapist watches. If this was my daughter I would be going mad.

Where is the safeguarding?

AIBU to feel viscerally angry with all our politicians about this?

I’d have been laughing if it wasn’t so serious, at the trans brigade who are now saying ‘ but he’s not proper trans, he’s a fake, he’s just taking advantage.’ But I thought if a bloke said he was a woman then he’s a woman, that you mustn’t question them and I thought they said no one would take advantage.

I know I rolled my eyes at this.

How the fuck do THEY know he's not 'proper trans'?? He may genuinely believe himself to have been born in the wrong body/be a woman, etc, etc, ... AND he's a violent predatory sex offender. The two things are not mutually exclusive.

Either you believe people are the gender identity they tell you they are or you don't. You don't get to opt out of that just because a person behaves badly before or after they transition.

Fortunately, I don't have to square my woke credentials with such a quandary because I think it's all bollox. And Isla/Adam is a MAN, irrespective of whether he genuinely believes he's a woman or is just putting it on.

Whitefly · 27/01/2023 15:13

I am done being called names because I am not kind enough to ignore basic safeguarding, be it a rapist with gender issues, a Drink knife welding Ukrainian female refugee or a trans age male murdering refugee.

We are allowed to safeguard ourselves ffs. The kind, woke are so destructive.

a friend of mine had to get a dbs to be in college when he was 19. So did this college not do one for Bryson or did the charge not show up? It should have done. It really should be checked to see where the failure occurred. Because if Bryson put all prior names and it was missed that’s a massive DBS fuck up. And if someone actually let him get away with not putting prior names on a dbs check given how he obviously hasn’t always been “Annie” then that person needs to be fired.

I thought maybe it was an adult college but one of the women quoted is only 18 now so would have been 16 when on the course.

The DBS has been deliberately manipulated to exempt trans people & allow them to conceal their real identity - the onus is on them to make a phone call. They don't have to disclose facts like every other adult wanting to work with children.
That's how mad and dangerous this is.

Anyone know where he's been transferred to?

It'll be Saughton or Bar-L - I'm hoping Bar-L.

Isn't that the truth. Although, I'm sure he's faking womanliness.

Bbc said today it’s HMP Edinburgh which is Saughton I think.

I was thinking this.

I thought all adult colleges teaching staff had to have enhanced DBS.

As other posters have pointed out to me, "Light slowly dawns..." @LipbalmOrKnickers

When I got a job at a top investment firm, I had to get checkable checks on every month of my entire life, it was called a Kroll check. I can't see how the fuck a trans can fake that one...

SillySausage81 · 27/01/2023 15:21

This has sod all to do with Bryson's trans status @LastOfTheChristmasWine

It has everything to do with his trans status. You think he'd have been allowed to see girls naked if he wasn't claiming to be a woman himself? And even if it had been suggested, the girls would have felt able to say "no, I don't want to strip in front of a man", and their wishes would have been respected because it is a generally accepted principle in our society that women shouldn't be forced to get naked around men or see men naked without consent.

But because he claimed to be a woman, and because we now have this RIDICULOUS situation where self ID is held up as sacrosanct, and it is claimed that no "cis" man would ever abuse self ID, and transwomen are all fragile vulnerable flowers who would never hurt a woman and must absolutely be believed otherwise you're a bigot, not only were the girls expected to strip in front of him, but they knew they would be accused of bigotry if they refused.

It's possible for students younger than that to be on courses at colleges - ones who struggle in standard school environments, are in care, have SEND, could be estranged from parents and in guardianship situations - the most vulnerable of 13, 14 and 15 year olds. Hair and Beauty is often one of the most common courses as it can get them back into some form of education when an academic environment wouldn't.

Why on earth do you need to take your clothes off if you're doing a beauty course?!

That aside, he's a bloke. I would have kicked up merry hell.

Yes. We need to teach girls to be able to speak out when they are uncomfortable and state their boundaries.

It's a hugely dangerous situation when women and girls feel unable to say they are not happy about a situation for fear of being attacked.

Yes. We need to teach girls to be able to speak out when they are uncomfortable and state their boundaries.

Girls (and women) know how to speak up.

That is why these wankers went for making it illegal to do so.

It tells you why in the article.

Whitefly · 27/01/2023 15:26

Learning how to wax legs, underarms, bikini lines, spray tan, the list goes on, the students are demonstrated on by staff and they practive on each other.

Thelnebriati · 27/01/2023 15:27

I've been saying for some time now that self ID could be used to create chaos around identity, and to bring in stringent ID legislation such as biometric ID and compulsory ID cards. It could even be used to try to justify compulsory DNA testing.

Exactly. You can't support self ID and then turn around and say "this person isn't really trans". You just can't. You've blown your argument for self ID out the water. You've shown that even you don't actually believe in self ID.

They're such raging fucking hypocrites, I just don't understand how they can even think straight with that level of cognitive dissonance going on.

Article says spray tanning - and by sounds of it they did try complaining at least about the threatening language and behaviour directed at them and staff.

This individual was later removed from the course but by sounds of it till the behavior got very bad.

I don't know the legal term, repeal the 2004 GRA, give the men back their male birth certificates, they can change name via deed poll and their mental health or gender religion is protected by the 2010 equality act, enough of this nonsense.

WagnersFourthSymphony · 27/01/2023 15:34

That would explain how entire governments got captured so quickly. Classic problem -> reaction -> solution* paradigm.

Loose their jobs.

Well, one would hope, if one were to have an intimate wax, that it wasn't the beautician's first time.
