Beauty students asked to strip in front of trans rapist at college AFTER sex attacks

My AIBU title taken from this news article:

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/beauty-students-asked-strip-front-29063499

This whole 'Isla Bryson' cluster-fuck has me angrier than I can describe.

These girls had to accept and trust this vile individual in their beauty course on the basis of Isla's claim to be a woman, nothing more. They even tolerated abuse from Isla.

They were not told this individual was facing charges of rape. The college claim they didn't know either. Because 'Isla' said he was a women, these young women felt they had no choice but to strip to virtually naked in front of him. Failing to do so would be 'bigoted'.

But he also happens to be a serial rapist. Young women, some possibly aged 16 or so, stripping to virtually naked while a serial rapist watches. If this was my daughter I would be going mad.

Where is the safeguarding?

AIBU to feel viscerally angry with all our politicians about this?

I often read a post that sounds like an MRA, or a particular type of man, look at the name and it's something incredibly flowery and overtly feminine.

Although they do also sometimes have names like BigDingleSwings, so I guess they don't limit themselves.

Emotionalsupportviper · 03/02/2023 09:01

@ReneBumsWombats

LOL! 😂😂😂

lifeturnsonadime · 03/02/2023 09:10

so Nicola Sturgeon claims she doesn’t have enough information to decide if Adam Grahams claims to be a woman are true or not. Even though she is in a position of power and access to records

Perhaps someone needs to invent a 'sorting hat*?

Or, we could just use the obvious identifier, but that would piss a lot of men off, so....

TangledWebOfDeception · 03/02/2023 09:12

A while back I started playing them at their own game (uterus owner, womb haver etc) and calling anyone born male who didn't want to be referred to as a man, a Penis Person. I think I'm going to go back to that. It cuts straight to the point.

mrshoho · 03/02/2023 10:02

Just say a prostate haver. Covers those who have had the chop. As far as i know they don't remove this but could be wrong.

TangledWebOfDeception · 03/02/2023 10:06

Men who have had the chop are still penis people. And very few of them do have the chop so I'm not going to gloss over the fact that the vast majority are still wholly intact.

Prostate haver also doesn't go directly to the point - that these are men, who have penises.

TangledWebOfDeception · 03/02/2023 10:07

(Also some people, male or female, wouldn't have any idea what a prostate is. Everyone knows what a penis is, and what sex has it)

mrshoho · 03/02/2023 10:12

True 😁

I like this. It's snappy.

And agree a penis person is always a penis person, regardless of surgery or horrific accident. Bit like Catholics.

Love the idea of using it with any person or organisation that uses "menstruator" etc. If it's queried as being rude "oh I thought I was being respectful by not reducing you to bodily function. Would you prefer pisser or ejaculator?"

spot on

Helleofabore · 03/02/2023 13:50

I think I once got deleted for calling a male poster a penis haver.

I am really sure it was 'haver' or 'owner' and not 'holder.' Because I have been deleted several other times for calling a male poster a 'penis holder'.

TangledWebOfDeception · 03/02/2023 13:56

Deletions have to be considered a lot more carefully these days since it would actually be discriminatory to allow one side to use sexed terms and not the other.

TangledWebOfDeception · 03/02/2023 14:00

*potentially discriminatory, I should say.

Your "rainbow of different genders" made me think of the poster (can't remember if iy was on this thread or another) who had seen a poster in their child's school with the protected characteristics, and which included "gender" but not "sex".

One of the (totally spurious) "reasons given was that "gender" was "less confusing" for children.

How?

  1. There are two sexes. Male and female.
  2. You can see at a glance (99.99% of the time) which sex someone is.
  3. One sex (male) is, on average bigger than the other (female), and is certainly, even for people of the same size, very much stronger. It is known that this, male, sex is more likely to be violent - we can be more cautious around this sex if necessary
  4. The sex you were born is the sex you remain all of your life - you do not change sex. Ever.
  5. There are certain illness that only affect one sex or the other . . . BUT
  6. There are umpteen "genders" - 150 and counting the last time I glanced at Twitter
  7. There is no way to look at someone and tell what "gender" they are
  8. Because anyone or either sex can potentially be any "gender" we can't reliably say that one "gender" is bigger/stronger/ more violent etc than another, nor can we know who we may need to fear
  9. People can switch "genders' whenever they like - back and forth like a fiddler's elbow if they wish.
  10. Sex-linked medical conditions can be missed if people insist they are a different sex, because of their "gender"

How is this "less confusing"?

Hi, hi (waves!)

Elsewhere, I found people of that body type referred to as "bollock gantries" which seems fitting.

bollock gantries.......I couldn't say that with a straight face.

SinnerBoy · 03/02/2023 17:34

@StephanieSuperpowers

It was

Kucinghitam

Who came up with Bollock Gantry.

StephanieSuperpowers · 03/02/2023 17:37

Ah, correct. And I won't be satisfied until it's in wide use!

IcakethereforeIam · 03/02/2023 17:52

That's where I got it from! But I misremembered it as 'scrotum gantry'.

that's why we can quite often spot the sex of commenters on here. It's really often very clear by the pattern, rhythm, response and tone, even without hearing a voice.

Oh it's so easy and as they "penetrate" the rest of MN they are even easier to spot. You can see them on relationships or aibu. And if its mentioned they lose their shit, get you a warning, strop off, and generally make it even clearer that they are Male as Male can be.

Its a sport of mine to spot them, I rarely mention it or if I do it's a general comment like "what an odd thing to say" because they really do say some very odd things.

Oh you should invent a new mumsnet codeword for all users to use when they spot one. Make it a new trend and at same help women to spot male asshole signs

just quote the post and be like

“where’s Wally? Found him”

It's really obvious a lot of the time, especially if it's a relationship thread that turns into mansplaining to women why women need to centre the man a bit more.

TimandGinger · 07/02/2023 21:39

I need to vent as I'm so annoyed. I'm a member of a local FB group for women. A bloke (female name, but he's a bloke, with a receding hairline and all) has posted on there asking for help with accommodation. About to go through gender surgery. Lots of women saying 'good luck' etc, offering help. Am I the only one who thinks what if a woman advertises a flatshare and he turns up? Please tell me I'm not alone - are other women really all this compliant??!! Depressing as hell.
