Naked children in mixed changing rooms-am I pearl clutching?

Ds is 8 and goes to swimming lessons at a local pool. It's mixed changing. Just lately there's always been children aged around 5 showering naked after their swim. It's an open shower area with no cubicles. So when you walk in they are there in your line of vision. The changing room is full of all ages from babies to the elderly. Ds commented today that he doesn't want to see naked people. Surely it's inappropriate to be showering your dc naked in a mixed setting? Or am I clutching?

Great shame for perverts yeah. At home naked no problem out in public completely different educate yourself

@AutisticLegoLover Really confused why you are getting a hard time. My local pool has a mixed ‘changing village’. There are signs prohibiting this and it is enforced. It’s to protect everyone, the kids and the adults.

I can assure this does happen and its not against the law why would it be? It's a naked body everyone has one. I was that little girl, I went everywhere with my Dad, he worked offshore and when home I didn't leave his side. Male changing rooms, toilets etc and I assure.it did me no harm at all. If fact maybe it did good as I am no prude and dont clutch pearls

And yes it's completely normal for professionals to agree on a case.
My training and background is heavily focused on MPACT, other substance misuse, ACEs trauma etc so I'm firefighting the extreme cases so things like this can't even get a look in unfortunately. Social care etc is another area of public spending that's very underfunded, so there's not the time or the resources to investigate young, naked, children in showers.
The more risk responsive parents probably would not let their kids shower fully naked and that's fine, it's their choice.
And some leisure centres have rules and policies in place asking people to refrain from the above but some don't.
Like I've said in previous posts, there's no blanket rule in safeguarding, you have to look at the bigger picture, and take into consideration different cultures eyc. And then it's about trying to educate people to the best of their abilities. If that fails then that's where we step in to protect the children.

The showers are there to wash the chlorine off, not to shower as you would at home

really?! Showers in communal areas? Mixed sex communal showers are there to wash the dirt/products off pre-swim and the chlorine off post swim.

i think what people are missing here is the risk to third parties too of ‘misunderstandings’, false
accusations etc etc

I did a quick Google .
All I typed was "my town"pervert At swimming pool.
Try it with your local pool and see what comes up .
Maybe my town has all the perverts living here, or maybe there are more prosecutions.
My eyes were certainly opened.
It's not just physical contact parents should be aware of,but the voyeurism too.
Why would any parent want their child to be 'used' in that way .
It could be happening and nobody is even aware of the presence of a pervert like that .
These are changed days,access to children is easy for a person like that ,when the people who are looking after these children doesn't want to accept that there are people like that everywhere .
If you ever spotted a man taking pictures of your naked child, you would call the police. Well that same person might just be out for real life naked kids that day .watching might just be all he is doing that day .but it's the same thing,just one act is visable and the other isn't.
and there appears to be plenty of naked kids around to be viewed because some parents are blinkered.
Wake up .children ( and adults) don't need to take off their costumes to wash chlorine off .just a quick rinse is enough .then find a cubicle where you can dry your naked child without any problems .

Well said. It's not about Pearl clutching it's about being aware of the reality. Also hidden cameras are sometimes installed in places where children are likely to be naked. Children need to be protected and it's up to parents to do this it's really naive and stupid not to be aware of what goes on

Those search terms really do bring up some results don't they. And they're the people that have been caught. Just in case on the off chance we happen to be living in the same area I randomly chose a number of places across the UK with the same search terms. Which yields similar results.
Why parents would even consider taking these risks when it's completely unnecessary beggars belief.
