Can't cope with constant intrusion by new neighbour

Earlier thread below for context and latest missive from neighbour.

I was not feeling well yesterday and went to bed. When I got up I went out to a friend's house to watch Strictly, a film and chat. I left 2.30am and had to scrape the windscreen. Home in the wee small hours and went to bed.

Neighbour had texted me saying she'd come to ask me to move my car because it was in the way. It wasn't and as I went out it was immaterial anyway.

Today I get another text from her about me allegedly banging my door. I do not slam doors. I arrived home in the early hours and closed the door of course but I don't slam it.

She told me when she moved in that her neighbours slammed the doors. It's odd that the common denominator is her.

I've lived here for years and since she moved here in September I'm anxious all the time.

I think she thrives on attention so I'm not replying to her.

Apart from being considerate with noise what would you do?

Leave vacuum cleaner by front door. When she comes round answer the door whilst running hoover. Deny hearing anything. Repeat.

Why would you put yourself through ridiculous contortions like that, when you could just open your mouth & say "stop coming here, I don't want to talk to you"?

Thanks yes they're fine! I got referred to hospital for tests and results today and all's ok. It's been so stressful though over the past three weeks! Neighbour has kept out of my face other than the text when I was away last week.

There's been no further contact from her at all. This morning I was outside scraping ice off the car and when I set off to drive she came out and did the same, but she completely blanked me. Result!

I did find Dunelm plastic packaging that had once contained a curtain rail in my kerbside recycling (I'd not bought it) so I removed it and threw it in a spare black bin that seems to be dragged out every other week, and found it back in my recycling bag this morning. I suspect her but not sure.

Long may she keep out of my hair.

A customer called round whilst I was out, to drop keys off in an envelope through the letter box for a weekend job I'm doing. The woman next door collared her "Oh do you know Saffron?" and started to tell her how she doesn't like noise and personal details about her exes!

Tell her you have blocked her because receiving texts (LOL/hun etc.)

So was your neighbour telling your customer details about herself, or details about you? The first option is a bit better but still bonkers.

What did your customer think about your neighbour and why on earth did she stop to listen to a random woman approaching her outside your house?!

If I was going to an appointment to someone's house I'd be totally weirded out by a random neighbour of theirs coming up to me and telling me their life story!!

My go to is "I'm not sure why you're telling me this? Can I go now please?"

The customer is actually a police officer who deals with nuisance neighbour disputes so it was interesting! She didn't actually stop to listen, from what she said, she was taken aback, but as I live in a terraced house she was parked directly outside and the NDN sort of engaged her in chat. It was only a minute or two at the most, but enough for her to get the measure. She made her excuses and got in the car and left.

Yeah NDN is really strange and doesn't know she's approached (an off duty) police officer who's already got her measure.

Has she left you alone entirely now? No more notes, knocks at door or texts ..? She does sound very interfering like she has nothing else to do but stalk&talk to anyone who come near her house or yours.

Posted too soon. Another note through the letter box telling me not to bang my door every time I leave the house or come home. "It sounds awful in my house and makes me jump and you woke me up leaving at 6.10am". Promptly put in the recycling.

The couple on the other side of her have been told to stop their six year old being noisy. They're ignoring her too.

Be frank with this ndn. You are not going to live in a prison at her command. Her note to you about not wanting to fall out is a bit of a threat in my opinion. Tell her straight you don’t want to hear from her again, then block her number and repost her notes unopened through her door. This woman is a potential nut and you’ll have to nip this in the bud.

Just ignore her .
It would be very tempting for everyone to sign a letter to her or even confront her asking what her problem is with all at you going about your everyday life . Three or more of you stood on her doorstep telling her she's batshit would be quite funny.

Why did you put this in recycling? It's evidence of harassment. You should be giving it straight to the police. You're really not helping yourself much here.

I can't believe this is still rumbling on. I think she does need a visit from the community officers to tell her to stop harassing her neighbours.
