Dinner with two school mums next Saturday. Been planned for ages. Don't know them very well..

Me and my family are England fans and been watching and following pretty seriously.

Hellllllo. I was honest. It was all good. Nobody banished me from future social events. We have rearranged for the new year. Phewwwww.

Well hurrah for reasonable friends and living in the real world as opposed to MN-land. Glad you sorted it out.

@WalkingOnTheCracks DH and I had the chance to see a show we've badly wanted to see (it was a cinema showing of the play Prima Facie; one night only at our cinema, which is the only cinema on the island we live on) but we already had long standing plans with people that we value, so we missed it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Don't worry @WalkingOnTheCracks it's massively underwhelming. A tour de force from Jodie Comer makes it worth watching, but the plot is just dire and you feel like you are being preached at for most of the last hour.

FettleOfKish · 08/12/2022 23:18

@thing47 I think that should be aimed at me rather than @Walking but thanks. A different view to that of our friends that saw it live, but it'd be a boring world if we were all the same.

(Which is pretty much a metaphor for this whole thread).

You’ve misattributed that quote to me. No worries - it’s easily done.

As to ‘feeling like you are being preached at for most of the last hour’ - I certainly know that feeling. I once suggested here that there’s no need to take one’s shoes off in the house.

Apologies to both of you. Far too keen to post my opinion, clearly.

@FettleOfKish to be fair my SIL loved it so I might be in the minority. And Jodie Comer is fantastic.

@WalkingOnTheCracks Nor mine. Though my DCs are now grown up and have learnt to use the mat! Better not derail any further…
