We are no longer allowed to speak out on things that directly impact our lives. When we do, we're told we're hateful. So many of us are now so angry. A cold, hard anger.

Not a scarf but the Radical Tea towel company gave some really nice bits in suffragette colours. I got a free washbag last Christmas with my tea towel order. Good quality too.

The optics on this are pretty bad. Lots of official people there were wearing rainbow lanyards but a woman asked to leave because of the colour of her scarf. I wonder if they would have gone as far as physically removing her of she had refused to leave.

I just Googled "suffragette scarf" and clicked "shopping", and this way rather than the news articles you'll get a few options for a wool one on sale from a few scottish shops, all the same scarf, all in sale for £16.99. Is a lighter colour than the one linked up thread. But i still think this thread is valuable because it spreads a great idea.

Its actually a really beautiful scarf isn't it, I would have worn it happily even without the meaning and substance behind it.

I am thinking about doing a suffragette Christmas tree this year using all of the colours - for some reason the deep and beautiful purple made me think of the Queen, and I am sure she would not want our rights extinguished as they are - and the link of celebrating such an incredible and iconic woman's life that died in Balmoral, Scotland meanwhile some Scottish agencies are busy trying to erase the fact we even exist.
I have always thought Scottish women are among the most fearless and vocal, I hope we can hear them soon.

The SNP can’t even agree on what a woman actually is do this doesn’t surprise me.
