£5000…for an hour?!

I read it today in an online paper…imagine that, if you did only two shows per week (worked two hours per week) that’s 480 grand a year?!

Not episode 😂 per show

I'm not a fan of LW but presumably that effortless effect of chatting aimlessly and interviewing guests involves a lot of prep work, PR etc

Brigante9 · 31/10/2022 22:28

I was off work this week and had the tv on in the background. I have never had the misfortune to listen to such inane drivel in my life! I changed channel, I couldn’t tolerate the utter shite they were discussing!

UnstableCarHouse · 31/10/2022 22:29

It’s a show that relies on viewers wanting to watch the people on the panel. On that basis, it wouldn’t surprise me if the more popular panelists earn that much.

Its also more than an hour’s work - I doubt they turn up five minutes before and leave straight after.

TarasHarp55 · 31/10/2022 22:29

Some of them hardly prepare though. I read Linda Robson barely reads up on stuff, that's why she often looks bewildered. Money for old rope imo.

Whatisthisweirdfluthing · 31/10/2022 22:29

@FatEaredFuck (What a username 😅) Yes of course, but still, 5000! I want to be a Loose woman when I grow up

No idea but I just googled it and it says Stacey Solomon earns £3000 per episode and £12,000 for Instagram posts. Who on earth is paying her that much, and why? She's as thick as mince.

Whatisthisweirdfluthing · 31/10/2022 22:31

@UnstableCarHouse Doesnt JSP turn up late or something. Still, it can’t be that hard, quite interesting discussing current events and having a laugh, there are worse jobs

Whatisthisweirdfluthing · 31/10/2022 22:31

@Keyansier £12,000 for just her Instagram posts 😳

Stacey has got 5.4 million followers on Instagram, that's why they pay her so much.

Whatisthisweirdfluthing · 31/10/2022 22:34

@determinedtomakethiswork Which posts are they paying her that amount for?
So bloody lucky, I mean, that’s not even work

Watched it a few times over the years when I had nothing else to distract me. My overwhelming recall was the Nolan woman seemingly unable to talk about anything except sex - hers or her sons. Pretty stomach curdling. Not sure what 'typical women' they are meant to represent. They give the overwhelming impression of being seriously dense and desperate. Don't watch at all now - rather watch paint dry.

pinkbag · 31/10/2022 22:37

@Whatisthisweirdfluthing pickle cottage won’t pay for itself.

it’s an obscene amount of money.

Whatisthisweirdfluthing · 31/10/2022 22:39

Just to add, I like Loose women and all
of them on it (can see some don’t 😬) it’s just such a lot of money, but lucky them 🤷🏻‍♀️

WhitethroughtheFright · 31/10/2022 22:39

You should read the price list for celebs to come and do a couple of hours at your conference/Christmas party/annual meeting. Starts at £15,000 for a niche speaker (semi well known sports person) to £50,000 + for a more professional presenter. That’s a few hours work on one night. Nuts.

DreamingOfSoftWhiteSand · 31/10/2022 22:42

Apparently a couple of years ago, a large IT company paid Paul McCartney £1m to play at its conference.it wasn't even a full set!

Propertyporn · 31/10/2022 22:45

Blimey, 5k to chat shit for an hour! 🤣

As pp said, it's not just an hour. They will have rehearsals (sort of), hair and make up, promotion, physical upkeep, maintaining a presence on social media, etc. I don't think I'd want that job.

Travelbunny · 31/10/2022 22:54

£5k per show sounds reasonable actually.

They are celebs. They have to get up very early And spend a good hour or two in hair And makeup before

But yeah, that does add up to a lot in a year! Lucky them!

Whatisthisweirdfluthing · 31/10/2022 22:55

@Propertyporn I would 🤣

Goingtogoinsane · 31/10/2022 22:56

Kylie Jenner gets over $1mil per instagram post. The world is a crazy place nowadays!

Whatisthisweirdfluthing · 31/10/2022 22:56

@Travelbunny Many people have to get up v early and do their own hair and make up. They can sit there with a coffee whilst someone else takes over! It’s not hard work…

OP posts:
Whatisthisweirdfluthing · 31/10/2022 22:57

@Goingtogoinsane I don’t even understand that level of wealth

OP posts:
Cuddlywuddlies · 31/10/2022 22:58

I know it’s a lot of money but you have to also be aware that they have to pay any make up and hair etc out of that and also…tax. These ppl are self employed and work can drop in an instant. It’s not ALL as it seems.

Carpediem15 · 31/10/2022 22:59

It is £3000 per episode, has been known for a while due to a conversation between JSP and SS which Stacey repeated on the show.

Whatisthisweirdfluthing · 31/10/2022 22:59

@Propertyporn Maintaining a presence on Social media is pretty simple and quite fun…physical upkeep, without being rude, with the exception of Frankie & Christine perhaps, they’re all pretty regular looking women..as isn’t that the appeal/target audience
