Had McDonald’s tonight, ordered the McPlant burger as usual and found this inside it! Does anyone have any clue what it could be?

Really hoping there’s a non gross explanation for this, it’s really put me off!

ThreeblackCats · 06/10/2022 00:31

It looks like part of a jackfruit.

Hawkins001 · 06/10/2022 00:33

Not a clue, but all the best

SavoirFlair · 06/10/2022 00:35

My god, I think I’ve had enough Internet for today.

YABVU.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 06/10/2022 00:36

Definitely looks plant based, maybe a bean that has sprouted?

ladyofshertonabbas · 06/10/2022 00:37

Broccoli?

quittingdaily · 06/10/2022 00:38

YABU - That's just an innocent raisin trying to sprout its young! No?

PinkButtercups · 06/10/2022 00:41

Urgh that looks like eggs of some sort.

Sniffypete · 06/10/2022 00:41

Looks like potato sprouts.

Greenhillsfaraway · 06/10/2022 00:43

CakeMake · 06/10/2022 00:54

That looks traumatising

ZealAndArdour · 06/10/2022 01:02

I just checked the published ingredients list to try and puzzle it out, but I’m still none the wiser.

It’s main constituent is “pea protein” but basically everyone else on the list is a liquid, flavouring or preservative.

Plant Based Burger
Ingredients: Water, Pea Protein (16%), Rapeseed Oil, Coconut Oil, Flavouring, Rice Protein, Stabiliser (Methyl Cellulose), Potato Starch, Apple Extract, Salt, Pomegranate Extract, Potassium Chloride, Concentrated Lemon Juice, Maize Vinegar, Yeast Extract, Carrot Powder, Emulsifier (Sunflower Lecithin), Colour (Beetroot Red), Maltodextrin.

Chloefairydust · 06/10/2022 01:02

Looks like some kind of parasite 😱

Have you emailed customer services with the pic. If it’s something sinister they might need to recall some of their products. If it’s something innocent but just gross looking you might get some vouchers.

I once found what looked suspiciously like rat dropping in my rice crispies, 🤢 so I complained to Kelloggs and got some vouchers for kellogs products as an apology (although I didn’t really fancy rice crispies again for a while😂)

ZealAndArdour · 06/10/2022 01:04

Was it actually physically inside the burger, or was it loose in the bread in amongst the salad bits?

Jenasaurus · 06/10/2022 01:04

probably fell out of the chefs nose while he was cooking

Dunnoburt · 06/10/2022 01:05

Almost looks like some sort of egg case .....eurgh poor you OP ..... that would put me off for life!!

Eeew! 🤢

ZealAndArdour · 06/10/2022 01:07

Those white bits are very reminiscent of wisdom teeth when they’ve been extracted. Although obviously not that. It’s also not part of a jackfruit and the mcplant doesn’t contain any jackfruit.

Is it obviously some kind of plant matter? Are the white bits wet and crunchy like some kind of bulb/tuber roots?

cathycake · 06/10/2022 01:14

Whatever it is it looks totally evil.

Wichit · 06/10/2022 01:15

Looks like John Hurt's belly button.

I don't think OP fancies chewing it to find out!

I hope you don't mind OP but I downloaded the photo onto my phone and used Google Lens to try and identify it.

It came up with "Flea"

Confused

Well that's definitely not fucking vegan.

Dustyblue · 06/10/2022 01:38

Oh far out, that turned my stomach.

I badly want to know what it is. I think.

OP you've got to take that back and show them. Or email it somewhere. It needs to be stopped whatever it is.

PinkButtercups · 06/10/2022 01:38
