Not to like the Globe Theatre calling me a bitch?

OK, not to my face. But following the non-binary Joan of Arc play they’ve shared a ‘terfs stop being transphobic challenge’ referring to anyone who doesn’t believe in gender identity as a bitch.

It’s a shame. I’ve been to some amazing plays at the Globe. But they’ve made their position on feminists pretty clear, so I won’t be going back.

@Datun that is so horrific, what sort of dystopia are we living in?

Yes, dystopia is the right word.

The insanity that meant a raped woman was told she was wrong on that basis of her rapist pretending he's not a man, and the NHS going along with it, despite CCTV evidence.

Horrifyingly dystopian. And very, very real.

I don't know why they had to deny it, either. Just say she was raped by a woman with a penis if you want to buy the bloody ideology.

But it was actually just expunged.

It's the sacred caste that LangCleg used to speak of.

If you create a group of people who are untouchable, predators will flock to that group.

Priests aren't innately abusive. But they were above suspicion. The same with TV celebrities, teachers, etc.

Teflon.

What more does a predator need.

Notice how they never trans any male historical figures? Louis 14 wore pink, makeup heels and had long hair but I don’t see anyone saying he was really a woman….. And I’m loving the fact @Discovereads thinks Joan of Arc wasn’t real.

I wouldn’t say never. Monty Python had a transwoman “Loretta” liberation fighter and disciple in Life of Brian. Which was a work of fiction loosely based on the life of Jesus and his disciples. 😜

I think Joan of Arc is the first major historical figure to be portrayed as nonbinary with usual artistic licence. Not quite as radical as portraying her as a transman. I’m sure more will come. Btw I know she was real but from the translated primary sources, she was merely a pretty teenage 17-18yr old peasant girl exploited as a mascot dressed in a sexually provocative manner for the times and her function was to hang about the battlefield with her two brothers waving a banner to boost morale. When she was captured, the Burgundians offered to exchange her as part of a prisoner exchange, but the aristocratic French men (the real military leaders) were done with her and refused. So she was sold off to the English and murdered as a heretic and witch by burning at the stake aged 19. The French had many opportunities to plead for clemency but did not. One has to wonder if the men involved didn’t collude in making her a literal martyr for the cause. Whether deliberate or not, it’s clear from the aftermath that she was of more practical use to the French dead as a martyr to the cause (of hating and kicking the English out of France) than alive as a mascot by then.

Knittingmonster · 06/10/2022 14:12

Err. @Discovereads aee toy claiming a character in the life of Brian was a historical character or are you being disingenuous? Can you name any real male historical person that the trans lobby has claimed was really a woman?

Women have been hounded out of jobs, arrested and questioned by the police and threatened with rape and death for suggesting the very simple fact that human beings cannot change sex.

The situation has got completely out of hand because one group of people are demanding that the wants (not rights, but wants) of a very tiny % of the population should take precedence over the rights of 50% of the population.

Many individuals, corporations, govt bodies etc are finally starting to realise that their efforts to accommodate the vocal wants of the tiny % are going against the rights of the 50%, and not in a good way, so are rethinking policy.

Not really convinced the level of harm to or the number of these women “hounded out of jobs, arrested and questioned by police and threatened with rape and death” quite reaches the level of harm and number of transgender people who have been real life victims of hate crimes linked by the Home Office to what some of these women are saying on SM. I mean if you’re on SM inciting violence it’s a bit more than “suggesting the very simple fact that human beings cannot change sex” Police aren’t going to be arresting and questioning anyonr for something as harmless as that….🤔

“Home Office report links rise in police-recorded transgender hate crimes to ‘discussions on social media’. A report published by the Home Office on Thursday said: “Transgender identity hate crimes rose by 56 per cent (from 2,799 to 4,355) over the same period, the largest percentage annual increase in these offences since the series began.”

There's another really fierce historical leader in English history, though the spelling of her names varies depending on the source you read. She was Boudica or Budica. I recall being engrossed in a documentary about her about 10 years ago (I hate documentaries). She was a leader while Romans invaded London. They captured, raped and murdered her two daughters. She then set fire to pretty much all of London! (some of that may not be quite accurate as it's a while since I watched it).

It's only offensive if you're the thing they're talking about. If you're truly not transphobic or trans-exclusionary then surely you wouldn't take offense...

I don't think the Charities Commission would be all that thrilled by a registered charity calling anyone a bitch, to be honest.

If we deny that women can be brilliant, brutal and successful, we do ourselves an injustice and we fail to recognise the potential within all of us - good and bad.

Knittingmonster · 06/10/2022 14:23

What are all these hate crimes @Discovereads do you have links to reports? Are we talking mean words on a screen hate crime or actual assault and murder? If the latter, I’m sure they’ll have been reported so you’ll have links, and if it’s the former well, hurt feelings are nit literal violence are they?

Passmethewhat · 06/10/2022 14:28

If you can find the documentary on her (could have been on the BBC or The History Channel), it's worth watching and it's empowering.

MrsRuggles · 06/10/2022 14:28

Hoardasurass · 06/10/2022 00:24

@Discovereads terf is a slur and is used normally by violent TRAs along with death and rape threats as I'm certain that you know this already if not "educate yourself "

Is it? In my experience it is used by all sorts of people who are simply united in not hating/fearing transwomen.

The historian, Lucius Cassius Dio recorded Elagabalus as a fully out transwoman. Interesting Roman Emperor from all accounts. Of course, Dio can’t really be called part of “the trans lobby” as he was writing his history books from 180 AD to 235 AD.

You mean women are allowed to fight for our rights now, or have things changed since then. How come Boudicca was brilliant and successful for fighting for her rights, and yet women doing the same today are vilified? Shouldn’t she just have let the romans do what they wanted so she could achieve ‘inner peace’?

But that is the difference @Discovereads, Elagabulous identified as a transwoman. Joan of Arc was not non binary. Neither was Elizabeth the first, but I have heard TRAs state she was trans because ‘she had the heart and stomach of a king’.

Here's another fierce warrior from Ireland.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medb

I particularly love this quote: "It is reported that it took thirty men to satisfy her, or Fergus once.[17]" Does anyone know of a Fergus who might be a loose end?

You could follow the link I was kindly provided to the Independent article.
”Half of hate crimes are public order offences, which include words or behaviour causing harassment, alarm or distress, while 41 per cent were violence against the person and others included criminal damage and arson.”

As previously quoted, transgender hate crimes in year ending March 2022 were 4,355.

41%= 1,786 violence against the person hate crimes

Here is the Home Office report itself

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. We prefer to fit nicely into a 'naice' stereotype. If you're fierce, you're either insane or hysterical. It's far easier to repress your feelings and slowly go insane.

If you want to fight - fight. (Mind you, that philosophy hasn't served me too well so it's possibly not the best advice).

WifeMotherWorker · 06/10/2022 14:40

That poem 😆
As others have pointed out… we seem to be moving to a dystopian world where men basically rule the world by absorbing all known womens rights, take over womens sports and historic female figures and remove womens rights to safe spaces and privacy.
XX women overwhelmingly oppose this ideology for many, many, many safeguarding reasons as well as the loss of equal opportunities and rights.

Passmethewhat · 06/10/2022 14:45

Well DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT THEN! Jesus. Sometimes it's like you are all little girls whose elder brother pushed them over so you go crying and whinging to Mummy and Daddy and not doing a single thing to stand up for yourselves!

What are you doing? What exactly? Apart from throwing insults around and belittling people?

WifeMotherWorker · 06/10/2022 14:49

@Passmethewhat - I think you’ll find there is a huge movement opposing this ideology. People are waking up and it is the vast majority of the general public (both sexes) that don’t agree with males using female safe spaces (toilets, changing rooms, hospital wards, rape crisis centres etc) and male competing in sport against women.
Don’t worry we are starting to stand up for ourselves and are all united.

Passmethewhat · 06/10/2022 14:50

I've long believed in the stereotype of women being the brains and men being the brawn.

Reading these threads, I sometimes wonder whether there is a single brain actually functioning between you! This is why it's so damned frustrating to me to read and I don't actually care about this issue!

God almighty, but it's like a broken record. Trans. TRAs. Violence.
Stand up and be fucking counted then!
