Not to like the Globe Theatre calling me a bitch?

OK, not to my face. But following the non-binary Joan of Arc play they’ve shared a ‘terfs stop being transphobic challenge’ referring to anyone who doesn’t believe in gender identity as a bitch.

It’s a shame. I’ve been to some amazing plays at the Globe. But they’ve made their position on feminists pretty clear, so I won’t be going back.

@Passmethewhat What term would you use for the people of biological XX (who for all human time have been known as woman/women)? We obviously need a term for them due to biology.

Why not use the words woman & female, and then you invent another term that links men who want to think they are women, with women who don't mind being linked in with those me, but not including women who don't want to be linked. Not resorting to stereotypes of course.

What term do you prefer for children with chromosomal abnormalities? For children born with one kidney? For children born with heart defects?

Are they proper real children or are they just pretending to be?

Someone with psychiatric disorders: Are they actually human? Are they real 'men' or real 'women'?

Where do you draw the line between you as a human and God?

Passmethewhat · 08/10/2022 14:53

I just gave you the definitions of effeminate from the three most prominent English dictionaries.

Yes yes you did. None of which has any bearing on what sex someone is. Or do you think if an effeminate male and a non effeminate male got together they could make a baby?

so far your definition of woman seems to be ‘an effeminate man’. Whoooboy.

Huh? Have you been day drinking?? What the actual chuff are you on about? So now because some children have health issues, TWAW? 😂😂😂. Not enough crying laughing emojis in the world.

IcakethereforeIam · 08/10/2022 14:59

I think you need to lie down. You are the first person who I've ever seen suggest that someone with an illness is less than or other than human.

TeenDivided · 08/10/2022 15:00

Pass Now you're just being ridiculous. We know who is a boy or who is a girl. Even DSD are either female or male differences. No idea where God comes into things.

RUFISRUF · 08/10/2022 15:03

Just when you think the TRA can’t come up with even more bonkers arguments, they surpass themselves. This is epic.

Passmethewhat · 08/10/2022 15:12

RUFISRUF · 08/10/2022 14:55

But how did they know the difference? Was there like some clue that a child was not a boy or did they just assign the title boy by random
why are you so invested in giving away womens rights to single sex spaces? Why is it up to women to allow males in their spaces if they do not wish them to be there? Why does the feeling of the male trump those of the female? Is this going back to your upbringing where women and girls were not seen as people?

Because back in the day, not too long ago, women were segregated from men.

Women were not allowed to drink in a pub.

If you go into pubs where I'm from, there's usually a place called the snug. It was where women were only allowed to enter - they were not allowed to mingle with the men.
I've worked in Building Control and we were trying to sign off on a place of worship for a particular religion (which I won't name as it's not entirely relevant). As Building Control, we had to ensure that there were sufficient fire exit routes in the plans. This religious group strongly opposed to it due to the strict rules of not allowing men and women to mix (even in the event of a fire 🙄)
I don't give a crap about this argument quite frankly. I only ended up opening it as it was in AIBU and it mentioned The Globe Theatre calling the OP a bitch (which of course was pure hyperbolic nonsense mixed with a good dash of eye of newt and narcissism).
That sort of extremist language is nonsensical and misleading.

I'll leave you to your coven. Don't forget the adder's fork when you're stirring the cauldron. It's the secret ingredient. 😉

Is this argument about procreation?
I thought you were all afraid of being attacked by transwomen!

RUFISRUF · 08/10/2022 15:14

So again, how did they know what a woman was? How did they know who was allowed in which space? Where would a butch lesbian have gone? I mean according to reality, she’s a woman, but according to you only effeminate men are women so she’d have gone with the men right?

Maybe they had a grope of to check for the presence of a penis?

Don't be disingenuous with me darling. You won't win.

No. That's not right. Perhaps you should 'educate yourself' as the saying goes.

Many people don't want biological males in women's single sex spaces however they identify. Whether that is toilets, changing rooms, sports, prisons, refuges or rape support meetings.

There are various reasons around safety, privacy, dignity and freedom.

Haha!! Yeah, you're still not letting men into women's spaces. 😁

The answer is no.

Or nooooo as I like to say.

TeenDivided · 08/10/2022 15:26

As soon as you allow TW into women's spaces, how do you stop any man entering?
Women are being made to feel they can't challenge males in single sex spaces because they will be verbally abused for doing so.
How do we tell TW from non-trans Men? We can't.

Galaktoboureko · 08/10/2022 15:30

wackamole · 05/10/2022 22:43

Oh, hell no, Juno.

Do you tell black people that racial slurs are totally OK, because only a n+++++ would mind being called that? Do you tell Jewish people that k+++ is OK, and Muslims that r+++++ is fine - if you weren't one you wouldn't mind, right? What about gay people - no harm in f+++++ if you're not one, right? Or disabled people - hey, only those OTHER disabled people are c+++s right? No harm done? Everybody's "that thing", right - except for people who behave exactly how you want?

Or are you JUST a misogynist, Juno, and so you don't mind women being called a rape apologist and rape-normalising slur like TERF?

I think her point was more that nobody would be offended by somebody calling racists 'bitches' if they weren't a racist.

That said, most of the trans lobby can get in the sea as far as I'm concerned. 😂

Tbf, there's no law about men not being able to enter women's toilets. Although I guess it's more that we don't want it to become a socially acceptable thing.

GreenWhiteViolet · 08/10/2022 15:33

How is the idea that you are a woman if you have effeminate or feminine qualities not just old-fashioned sexist stereotyping? What does it say about women (the biological ones) who prefer traditionally masculine activities?

If we accepted this idea as true, what possible reason would there be to divide toilets, changing rooms, sports, etc. into those used by 'feminine people' and by 'masculine people' instead of by biology?

Datun · 08/10/2022 15:35

Quite. The whole concept is hopelessly sexist. It's a regressive ideology.

None.

Pass Another irrelevant question.

He is a known to me, consider by me safe, male who obviously uses toilets at home (single lockable with own hand wash facilities), but who equally obviously uses the gents in any public spaces because other random women wouldn't want him in their spaces and he is respectful of women's boundaries.

Perhaps you should write to Merriam Webster, The Oxford Dictionary and Cambridge Dictionary to tell them they ought to update their definitions of effeminate so as not to be denoted as derogatory terms.

Antonyms for effeminate btw are these:
manlike, manly, mannish, masculine, virile

He's not my builder is he? Because, I would strongly campaign for separate facilities it he is your husband.
