Not to like the Globe Theatre calling me a bitch?

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 05/10/2022 21:11

OK, not to my face. But following the non-binary Joan of Arc play they’ve shared a ‘terfs stop being transphobic challenge’ referring to anyone who doesn’t believe in gender identity as a bitch.

It’s a shame. I’ve been to some amazing plays at the Globe. But they’ve made their position on feminists pretty clear, so I won’t be going back.

Wow. Who is the mastermind of this decades long plan? And once society is dismantled, what then?

Take a look at all the FWR threads - it's all documented.

Plus the dentons report. Its not secret.

And...

... the answer is still no.

ColeensBoot · 07/10/2022 19:11

Yep queer theory. Hiding in plain sight. So ridiculous noone apart from feminists has taken it seriously.

I think we all ascribe to the 'when someone shows you who they are, believe them' as feminists who have enough life experience to know this absolutely is the case.

However then we run up against ageism and misogyny - the feminists are not (were not) being believed.

So whose interests is it in - to create permanently child state bodied adults, with a poor sense of bodily autonomy and boundaries, split off from their 'uncaring awful' families. Whose? Ask yourself that.

Yes it really is that grim.

Passmethewhat · 07/10/2022 19:37

I feel that none of the posters here have any desire whatsoever to come to an equitable or satisfactory solution.
It's pointless arguments with smart-arses goading and sneering.
It's the most ridiculous discussion ever.
I have been in female bathrooms with transwomen. They wash their hands, use the hand-dryer, check their makeup and use any handcream if it's available.
I have never felt threatened by a transwoman.

But the big bad wolf?

fallinover · 07/10/2022 19:58

I have never felt threatened by a transwoman.
Neither have I. But I understand that I don't have the only valid view on the planet.
Many women will feel threatened by a biological male in a contained, intimate space.
It isn't in my gift to give away other women's sense of safety.

I also understand that there is no evidence that trans women pose less of a sexual risk than other males.
In fact the stats seem to suggest that they pose a higher risk.
So basic safeguarding would seem to be a sensible approach.

Dentons report is advice on “how to lobby” written for organisations thinking about trans youth rights. What do you think it is?

Who is asking for this and why do you believe this is something that can actually happen? (You’re right it does sound ridiculous.)

Agreed. "I have never felt threatened" isn't a valid argument. Plenty have.

Maybe you aren't looking properly?
Simple solution is being offered the whole time and everywhere around.
Everyone can feel and identify as they want, and they can use the clothes they want. In situations where sex matters (health, sports, safety, different upbringing, undressing...), divide by sex and provide 3rd space (individual provisions) when reasonably possible.

If you were in bathroom with a transwomen, it wasn't really female bathroom, was it? It surely became mix sexed somewhere in the process. It isn't nice if it happened so sneakily, that you haven't even noticed so to be able to name it properly.

Discovereads · 07/10/2022 20:28

It’s good @Passmethewhat has never felt threatened by a TW and agrees they are not a ‘big bad wolf’. She’s exactly someone who would say use an all womens loo. I would welcome women that have no trouble mixing with TW on our team.

So long as she agrees that women who cannot go into an all woman’s loo due to belief or PTSD and so on should be accommodated with a separate female only loo.

In response to whose interests query.
Every child that has irreversible surgery. And hormone treatment that is not actually reversible.

It is sad and creepy.

I have been raped three times. Never in a ladies toilet. Never by a transwoman. I have been violently attacked in my home by my then boyfriend.

If and only if, you wish to find a solution to what is a difficult situation, then yes, I'm behind you.

I realise that my experiences of assaults by men are not everyone's, so I'm not for one minute playing top trumps. I know that some women may experience genuine actual fear.

I understand fear. But I think that there is fear and anger on both sides.

Yep, we are neither GC nor TRA. We have decided the two sides aren’t getting anywhere so it’s time for everyone who genuinely wants to create solutions to put their heads together separately. We agree with protection of TW & women, TM & men & all children. We want everyone to have dignity, safety and fairness.

Passmethewhat · 07/10/2022 20:49

I do not have enough information in relation to hormone therapy in teens to form an opinion (as I said, I avoid this topic usually), but my gut feeling would be to delay it long as possible and only with obligatory extensive counselling and with a lot of input from parents and professionals who have dealt with the child/teen over the years, much like an ADHD assessment is conducted.

That mission statement sounds good to me.

Do we have an organised representative group from the opposing side with whom to engage?
Do we need Mike Tyson involved? 😁

dontdothistome · 07/10/2022 20:55

@ZiriForEver It was as normal to me as if a woman had brought her little dog with her into the ladies toilets. Plus she looked better than me haha I might have asked her for some makeup tips but I didn't want her to think that I was being falsely nice to her.

Passmethewhat · 07/10/2022 20:58

I have a twitter account, but I don't it, and I tend to only read tweets to idiotic government announcements or such like.
I believe a lot of the arguments take place on Twitter?

If so, could we go to the biggest argument and appeal to them with our mission statement, our fears, our aims, our promise to listen?

Would that work?

I genuinely don't know we would be dealing with. So I'll follow your lead.

So sorry you’ve experienced that, you are not alone 💐
Toilets 99.9999% safe for me too, although one time a man did follow me into one, got on the sink bank and then peeked over the top of the cubicle to watch me wee into the toilet. I was oblivious until mid-wee some sixth sense told me to look up and I saw his face peering down at me. That was pretty frightening as I was fully exposed from waist down. Skipping ahead it ended alright.

Yes, I agree there is fear & anger on both sides. Sadly they’re dismissing each other’s fears when we need to respect the fears and do what we can to mitigate them.

We are tiny as we only formed last night. You’d be our fourth member.
There is no opposing side to us, we are forming away from the two sides and hoping to draw anyone tired of lack of progress from the two sides.
I think I’d like to avoid Twitter. It’s retweet/like system is designed to encourage & reward inflammatory provocateurs. Any attempt at seriousness turns into a bun fight or worse.
The plan I suggested was to take the route the upskirting law went, which is find a House of Lords patron (Baroness, Countess, etc) and ghost write a law to be put to the Commons for debate. That’s how they got it done and dusted so fast.

That sounds good but I thought that you were joking when you posted that yesterday. Right, so we have a mission statement, we have a massive following of 4 people and now we need to find someone in the House of Lords?
Any royalty on here?

you call ot 'how to lobby'. The press call it :

In short, this is a handbook for lobbying groups that want to remove parental consent over significant aspects of children’s lives.

Among other things.
