Tradesperson inviting people into my home

Currently got a tradesperson in to do a job. They quoted me a day rate of 8 days work (which I think will take less time than that, but they're the expert...)

Anyway, that's not my AIBU. I checked my security footage this week and noticed a woman popped round to my house when I was out and tradesperson was working alone in my house. I can only see her walk past my front door to the back garden gate, she knocks and then the feed ends. She's seen leaving 4 hours later. The next day, same thing, except 3 hours.

At present the tradesperson gets here for about 8am and has already stopped working by 3pm. So that's 7 hours of work, fair enough, but 4 (and 3) of them an unknown woman here is (it's not his wife, I did a little social media digging and it's not her).

AIBU if I question him about it next week? He still has 4 days left to finish the job next week and I don't l like the fact there's an unknown and univited person in my house when I'm not there, plus, how much work can he really be doing if his "mate" is there for 4 hours.

Id have to pop home and catch them red handed. The look on their face would be priceless 🤣

IvyPlant · 17/09/2022 22:00

Wouldn't that just put him off from inviting her around again if I had someone at home?

Here's been there on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week just gone.

On Monday the woman didn't come round, but then my partner was off work that day and was in and out of the house all day.

Tuesday, the woman didn't come round, but my partner and I both left the house before the guy came round in the morning so he didn't know what time we would be back.

On Wednesday the guy came round super early before I'd left the house and specifically asked what time to expect me back. This is the first day the woman came round. She left about an hour before I arrived home.

Same again on Thursday.

It sounds like a really fucking gross version of. Craig David song and/or The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Once had a plasterer working at my house. Popped back to get some stuff and his girlfriend and baby were there. I was a bit shocked to see them but didn't really know what to say. He did a lovely job and completed all the work in the quoted time so in my head I just assumed that their visit was during his lunch break or whatever 🤷‍♀️

I would definitely throw your bedside table vibrator in the bin.

I just spat my wine out 🤣

So you'll be paying for the hours he has sex with her in your garden?!

Aquamarine1029 · 17/09/2022 22:12

I bet he's married and that woman is not his wife.

He is married and that woman is definitely not his wife.

Maybe she’s his probation officer and she’s making sure he’s staying away from crime. They do have tall willowy blonde probation officers with nose piercings…

It doesn’t take a lot of thought about why someone working on the electrics might want another person there. Electrical working alone can come with a lot of risks. He might be embarrassed that he’s asked a friend/girlfriend/mistress to be there with him but the idea that they’re spending the whole time shagging is baffling. Just ask him about it.

Draughtycatflapreturns · 17/09/2022 22:16

He could be colourblind and she comes round and tells him which one is red and which is green. 😀

Alarm59 · 17/09/2022 22:17

Defo shagging, although I hope for your sake it’s not, cause this is awkward!

IvyPlant · 17/09/2022 22:21

For all those saying he has a helper, or friend visiting him to keep him company, or safe on the job, why does he try and block her exiting by standing in front of the camera? Why would you try and hide a legitimate colleague? Heck, he could bring his real wife here if he just told me up front she helping him out. But nope, he's the only one doing the job.

I'm placemarking! Pillow and blanket has to be him making the outbuilding more 'comfy' for her pre, during or post coital. What a cheeky fecker. He's obviously planned this as you think the job should take less than 8 days - he's planned the shagging time he'll need.🙈

SueDCreme · 17/09/2022 22:24

👀🤔

SueDCreme · 17/09/2022 22:26

Brings a whole new meaning to the name Screwfix...

Shinyandnew1 · 17/09/2022 22:28

Don’t tell him the truth about the time you’ll be home next time, and come
home to catch her in your house…

Pishposh99 · 17/09/2022 22:28

Even if it was his wife he shouldn't be inviting her over to your house without mentioning anything to you!

Weirdlynormal · 17/09/2022 22:31

Shagger 😂

When he next turns up delay answering the door for a bit then say 'Oh gosh I'm SO sorry I was just looking for an old pillow and blanket for you, floors can be SO hard on the old knees when you're down there rootling around for a certain switch can't they?'

Perpop · 17/09/2022 22:42

The pillow and blanket 😂😮

GobbolinoTheWitchesCat · 17/09/2022 22:43

Here for the updates 😁🍿

ArtOfTheImpossible · 17/09/2022 22:44

I'd get video footage of him shagging and send it to his wife OP

moistmingemist · 17/09/2022 22:44

Shamelessly placemarking for Tuesday evening update!

Bananarama21 · 17/09/2022 22:44

Omg the cheeky bastard. I think he's using the job to shag about.
