To be impressed that Holly and Phil queued to see the Queen

I saw on the news today that they both paid their respects. I know MPs got tickets to jump the queue which is fair enough given how busy they are running the country, but obviously run of the mills celebrities don't get that sort of treatment. We haven't seen many celebrities actually pay tribute given they wouldn't want to queue so long, so I was quite touched to see the picture of them walking through. True British gems.

They are exactly like anyone else who queued. Nothing special about them at all.

not sure why queueing makes them gems. Thousands of people have queued - including me.

I would expect them to queue. They are not special and should not have priority over anyone else queuing

Yeah, they're amazing, the greatest, dampest people who ever joined a queue ever, which is incredible in itself. You'd think, being such an iconic duo, they'd get a special audience with private admission, but no, they just go and walk like everyone else.

I happened to see them on the live feed and I can tell you, based on where they were walking, they had not been in the general public queue.

I walked through the hall yesterday and to one side (on the left of the screen on the main picture) there's a raised walkway were certain people (VIPs for want of a better term) are allowed to view, and then are directed down some steps to walk past the coffin where the public are walking. Those people are always extremely well-dressed and weren't in the public queue. I assume they're either connected to the Houses of Parliament, the Government, nobility or, as it turns out, TV presenters.

They didn't join the normal queue, they were fast tracked with special lanyards. I'm sure they've had their time paid by the itv as well.

I am pretty sure they (nor theresa may who was also lauded for queuing yesterday) didn't queue!
Do you really think that if they were standing in the middle of london for 8plus hours none of the people standing next to them/passing them at the snake area/walking past the queue but not queuing wouldn't have take a photo or tweeted omg Phil and Holly are here!

People take sneaky photos of celebs walking past them on the tube let alone if they are stuck bored next to them for hours with nothing to do!

Plus the lanyards are a bit of a giveaway!

Also if they had queued believe me we would have heard about it in detail from those two!

I can't see that their ability to stand in a queue for an insane amount of time, is any more impressive than any of the other thousands of people, tbh. unless Holly was wearing stilettos

On GMTV they Susanna Reid queued yesterday with her mother. No idea of the logistics just what they said.

This. I'm sure they will be able to "chat" with a magazine or similar soon all about the experience and recoup the cost of time spent queuing.
