To be impressed that Holly and Phil queued to see the Queen

I saw on the news today that they both paid their respects. I know MPs got tickets to jump the queue which is fair enough given how busy they are running the country, but obviously run of the mills celebrities don't get that sort of treatment. We haven't seen many celebrities actually pay tribute given they wouldn't want to queue so long, so I was quite touched to see the picture of them walking through. True British gems.

Nothing I admire about queueing up to walk past the Queens coffin I'm afraid. Those who have done so have done so entirely because they wanted the experience, could get a day off work, and had the privilege of enough time and money to traipse to London and do nothing for hours on end. Not one person has benefitted from it. Anyone who fancies it, good for them, but there are literally countless more admirable ways to spend ones time, whether you're on the TV or not.

She presents this image of having it all, of the perfect mum and woman, when she’ll have a lot of help that she won’t advertise, leaving people who watch her to feel they don’t measure up to her standards. To get as far as she has there’s a lot more to her than she wants people to believe.

Paying respects to The Queen together maximised their exposure.

Was just reading and they def did not queue. They were there for work and were in the press section filming something for This Morning which I find inappropriate in itself, really don't think they should have tv shows filming there. As an aside Holly was wearing a face mask, not sure why.

Guess they are desperate to boost the ratings however not desperate enough to queue for hours!

Yup, right at the list of great Britons are Philip "we buy any car" Schofield, and Holly "single braincell" Willoughby.

They did not queue with everyone else. I queued for 12hr almost exactly until I went into the hall. The people queueing had to dress warmly with sensible footwear. It was hard to to look nicely put together and be practical and warm. I walked through the hall and saw both of them sat in a private viewing area that is not show in tv. It on the left of the camera view, so when you look at the live feed and the camera is high up above the door arch there is a VIP Viewing area there. They were both sat next to each other dressed very smartly. Phillip S was instantly recognisable and then sat next to him was Holly with her perfectly done hair and black face mask on - I would assume to hide who she was and not draw attention on herself. But Phillip was a total giveaway. I have no idea how long they sat there watching though. They were amongst a dozen or so people viewing

I wonder how many children wrote letters of condolence, but didn’t have them read out on TV by their mother.

Actually quite uncomfortable with the circus "the queue" is becoming what with fast track passes and media reporting. Was listening to the radio on the way home lastnight and Heart were all very jolly letting us know that Amanda Holden would be "live at the queue" today. Seems to have taken on the same tone as the Wimbledon queue, they have lost sight that it's someone's coffin.

They're off work till October mate!

Journalists which would include reporters who are covering the event get direct access to the queue as it enters the hall, so a short queue.

It's pushing it a bit to describe that pair as "journalists".

But I just want to say I've just come back from seeing her Majesty and waited 12 hrs.
They absolutely did NOT do that.
If they were wearing lanyards they were treated as visitors

Perhaps not the point of the post, but why on earth should MPs skip the queue? They are no more busy than countless other vital professions, and it is hardly a necessity.

They stood in a line, it’s not like they ran a marathon.

I was musing to DH the other day about costs etc and said 'I wonder how it's all paid for'. Almost immediately DH replied "She had an over 60's plan"

I don’t see any moral virtue attached to queuing to see a coffin, minor celeb or not. I’d have been more impressed if they’d spent the time at a local soup kitchen.

What, do you want some sort of update? This is not like a Korean lady sitting in the back garden. I'm still not convinced they skipped the queue to be honest, they are not dignitaries, I don't believe the Royal Family would make exceptions for random celebrities. What next.. the cast of Love Island or TOWIE streaming through?
