Do you have a memory of floating down the stairs as a child? Someone mentioned it to me earlier and I have the same memory! anyone know what I’m on about?

yes! Except we did not have stairs as a bungalow. But I used to dream I floated around (almost like swimming in the air) near the ceiling.

Sounds like a confused memory of the feeling of being carried down the stairs by a parent.

It's a really common dream - it is about sexual awakening apparently

I floated from the sofa onto the floor. At least I thought I did. Tried it when I was around 10 and fucked it over

I had dreams about floating down the stairs. I have a memory of my older brother. He used to crawl down the stairs headfirst for some reason. Don't think he ever fell. 😂😂😂

I have this memory!! I’ve heard about it being a memory of being a baby carried down the stairs but we lived in a flat till I was 3.

Yes 100%. Never spoke with anyone about it! Very vivid "memories" of floating down the stairs at my grans house. Never up the stairs! I had other flying dreams too but the stairs are the most vivid and I can really clearly remember the turn in the stairs and the wallpaper but I barely remember any of the rest of the house. I had no idea it's a thing!

Yes! Also levitating above my bed.

No but I clearly remember making some sort of primative ball pool with balloons at the bottom of the stairs and sliding head first down them and into it, don't recall the inevitable carpet burn though!

Yes. A sort of floating hovering.

No , I could drive though. Very clear memories of driving the car round the corner. My Mother assured me they are false memories and cruelly pointed out that I can barely reach the pedals now...

I have memories of floating and bumping my head against the ceiling, then floating out the window. I swear it actually happened, and on more than one occasion! I also remember the evil presence that lived under the bed that would grab my arm if I let it slip out from under the covers and pull me under.

Yes! Except I could sort of swim in the air. It wasn’t just inside either, I have all these dreams/ memories of swimming in the air in our back garden. I remember thinking how simple it was and why was everyone so amazed that I could do it 😁

I grew up in a house with a four storey spiral type staircase, I bloody wish I could float down them. Though as seems to be common, I fair slid down them plenty of times. I'm 35 and still do if I visit home 😂

Not sure this is the same thing but I have a memory of the sensation of floating downstairs. I was petrified of our stairwell so used to go down so fast that my feet barely touched the steps - bit like that lizard that skips across water.

I didn’t have stairs but I remember levitating up into one corner of my bedroom ceiling in the early part of the night and then returning to my bed again in the early morning.

I also have some slightly trippy memories from sleepwalking where I was half awake and half dreaming.

I used to climb down using the walls like a spider, then swing and land at the bottom. Haven't tried that in a while, but I'm pretty sure I'd die.

Yep I used to swear I could fly down the stairs as a child. Must be a dream but still feels like a memory..

No, but I really enjoyed sliding down head first, I did it a lot.

@RossPoldarksWife I have a really clear memory of a kid of my mum's friend jumping down the whole flight of stairs at our house. She would have been about 3/4, I was a similar age, my sister saw it too. I am sure I didn't dream it, it was day time, and I was awake. I could only do 3/4 stairs, I was very impressed. What I'm saying is I believe you!

I still have dreams where I'm able to go down stairs really quickly because I'm basically floating. I really like them.
