Do you have a memory of floating down the stairs as a child? Someone mentioned it to me earlier and I have the same memory! anyone know what I’m on about?

I very vividly remember the handrail on those stairs and the feeling, I wonder if I felt I was floating because I was more focused on the rail than on the steps.

It is making me feel so funny remembering this.

I have that dream regularly involving different staircases, not from my childhood home but I do remember one from a particular staircase at my secondary school

Yes I remember one night, when everyone else was asleep I floated down the stairs, such a vivid dream I thought it actually somehow happened.

I remember regularly coming down the stairs on my bum in a sleeping bag full speed over the steps racing towards the front door.

No, no one could. It is a common dream though. I still get dreams featuring floating a lot even as an adult.

Definitely but as I, like a PP, grew up in a bungalow it was the steps in my front garden leading down to the gate. I'd love to know the psychology behind it. I mist have been about 4 or 5 at the time but it was very real to me.

Yes me too! This is the first time I have ever heard about it happening to someone else. I've not mentioned it to anyone case they thought I was nuts. It used to happen in the house I was child minded in!

Yes absolutely this. Also doing tumble turns on the walls in rooms and swimming around through the air in various rooms. Not a young childhood dream because I wasn’t taught any swimming until secondary school.

I have this - it’s a really clear memory. It’s a good lesson about how fallible memory is, if it wasn’t that it’s impossible I would be 100% that it happened.

I have a really strong memory of dreaming of doing this.

I have a memory from when I was very young. We were staying at Butlins and i remember floating near the ceiling seeing my parents and sister in their beds. I started moving towards the window where i screamed and woke up. It was very scary.

To be honest, I was just doing a really cool jump from about 6 stairs up.

No apparently I only came down the stairs like fucking elephant!! 😬
