She just seems so nice and unaffected, especially considering the amazing life and attention she’s had. Never seem to hear a bad word about her and she still looks good!
I just basically want to be her and have had her life 🤣

I am really puzzled by the love for Kate Moss here. Third thread I have seen recently. Yes I could just not click on it but I wanted to understand why...

Marketing - she's launching a wellness brand curating her life experience

She's been in rehab once. In 1998. I love her, she seems very well grounded considering she was a supper model from the age of 14. Cracking sense of humour as well!

She also went to rehab in Arizona after the photos of her snorting coke came out, that was 2005.

Beefcurtains79 · 01/09/2022 12:26

A wellness brand by a heavy smoker, drinker and cocaine taker is a bit odd.

LittleFluffyCloudz · 01/09/2022 12:27

I do have issues with jealous women on Mumsnet

Jealous, bitter, self entitled? Mumsnet appears to be the place to hang out at the moment.

Actually I think MN is the place for unfounded accusations of jealousy .
I really don't want her life because I have been able to travel the world on my own. I don't feel particularly sorry for her either. She is what she is: fine and all but an icon?

LouisCatorze · 01/09/2022 12:34

Didn't she have form for turning up hours late for modelling jobs and keeping everyone waiting? That's Naomi Campbell not Kate Moss. The latter (from what I've read) is regarded as really professional in her working life, possibly one of the reasons why she's been successful for so long?

LuckySantangelo35 · 01/09/2022 11:48

@3WildOnes

u must have some amazing life!

KM has travelled all over the world, met some amazing people, done things most of us will never do

I don't doubt she has had some amazing times but I don't think the lows of living through being an addict would make it worth it.

Buy yes, I have had a great life and have also travelled lots and had lots of amazing experiences without the lows that I expect kate has had.

I actually quite like her but wouldn't trade lives.

Alwaystheplusone · 01/09/2022 12:41

Defending abusive Johnny Depp wasn’t the nicest thing she ever did.

TheFlyingFox · 01/09/2022 12:42

Kate Moss has always struck me as someone who has a very enhanced level of social skills, able to enjoy all social opportunities that come her way to the fullest. I also rather envied her retort of calling someone a "basic bitch" on a flight once, when she was clearly the most irate she has ever been in public.

That said, just because she is in the public eye doesn't mean that there are other ways of living and enjoying a full life. A life in the country enjoying what you have earned is just as valid. And of course Kate Moss is now doing that as well! Grin

6coffeesbefore9am · 01/09/2022 12:44

I never got the love for her either. She looked like any attractive blonde woman, loads of women more beautiful than her. She always had a cigarette in her hand, looked off her head and like she needed a good wash.

Beefcurtains79 · 01/09/2022 12:46

Didn’t she call the pilot a ‘basic bitch’ after she drank vodka from her duty free when the flight attendant wouldn’t serve her anymore as she was wasted?

If a normal (non famous) poster told that story on here they’d get ripped to absolute shreds.

EachandEveryone · 01/09/2022 12:46

Its a shame she has encouraged her daughter to become a model. Shes not the only one though but it is annoying.

I agree, I feel she’s gained a lot of Johnny fans because of it but wish she hadn’t.

Dalaidramailama · 01/09/2022 12:48

@Beefcurtains79

I didn’t know that story. Sounds like she has bags of integrity 🤔 .

Yes, especially after keeping her out of the public eye so successfully while growing up.

I guess maybe Lila was determined to be a model and there wasn't much Kate could do to change her mind, so she decided to support her, as parents do?

Bpickle1 · 01/09/2022 12:54

What about the time she verbally abused staff when she tried to drink her duty free on an easyJet flight?

Festoonlights · 01/09/2022 12:59

Those saying she doesn’t need to be a good example, and it’s okay to be a drug addict, all very rock and roll and it’s ‘waaay more fun’ seem to have missed the memo.

Kate is now trying to flog wellness of all things! So you kinda DO have to have at least a wholesome philosophy to expect people to want to buy your stuff, and not become a laughing stock. I mean why pick wellness?
Its like Johnny Depp becoming a tea lady at the local womens refuge or Mick Jagger joining a monastery. We don’t think of ‘wellness’ when we think of Kate. Her reputation for hard partying and harder drugs heroin chic is renowned. If your whole life has been dedicated to spitting sawdust and sniffing coke. It’s a really odd choice and isn’t congruent to choose wellness to flog as your next business venture, and I feel she has been badly advised and it is very likely to fail.

Perhaps she is running out of money, which would seem entirely in keeping with her choice to support an established well known abuser in open court.

SemperIdem · 01/09/2022 12:59

A wellness brand run by somebody who has lived a hedonistic lifestyle is actually quite a good idea.

Lots of people drink too much, do recreational drugs, smoke and being preached to by someone who has always lived well is disheartening and not exactly relatable. Someone who has made the same bad choices but pulled it back is more likely to have impact.

@Dalaidramailama we’re the same age. Kate Moss was absolutely everywhere during the 00’s, not entirely sure how you’d have missed her, even if you’d wanted to.

AfterSchoolWorry · 01/09/2022 13:00

I love her !

Dalaidramailama · 01/09/2022 13:02

@SemperIdem

I knew who she was but she passed me by in that she wasn’t someone I really took much notice of.

TheCorrs · 01/09/2022 13:08

Kate is a fashion and beauty icon. I love that she hasn’t messed with her face too much. It’s nice she’s given up the coke for quartz candles and yoga. I feel with the likes of healthy models like Miranda Kerr doing this for years, she might be a bit late to the rosehippy oil party. I like hearing her talking about her experiences. She’s authentic and that will always make her cool.

IcedPurple · 01/09/2022 13:10

Yes, I would have thought the whole 'wellness' thing is a bit passe, and seems very much at odds with Moss' previous lifestyle. Maybe that's the whole point, but it does seem a bit 'off brand' for her.
